I'm sorry to say it but the entire AND residency that lasted from 2003 to 2007 + the TC tour that started right after ? It was something inhumane to do and would have been for anybody. The body can only endure so much. The fact that it's speculated she returns for another series of show is crazy to me, especially if the schedule is as crazy as the past ones. And let's not talk about LV heat and air quality that certainly didn't help. All in alll I sometimes wonder if her team really care about her or only care about making more money.

Got some details coming from a reliable source from the Red Heads community: Celine will indeed perform Piaf's song "Hymne A L'Amour" at the Paris Olympic Games, it's 100% official (still I hope they're wrong and Celine would actually perform one of her songs but oh well...). Well, it's been wishful thinking among some of us for years but I think the first to actually publish about it this spring was le Canard enchaîné, no?

I think we, here, started seriously speculating about it around April, when her Team Canada voiceover popped up out of nowhere.

 

And then Le Parisien I think was the first to point to L'hymne a l'amour as the song she'd perform (in mid-June, though I’ll say we here were speculating about that song before confirmation from Le Parisien that rights had been secured).

 

That Entrevue magazine last week confirmed it, too, including the tidbit that she's got a partnership with a French luxury brand to dress her for the occasion (all this based on "confidential documents they were able to consult"). For what it's worth.

This is pretty standard for major global media events. Most artists would kill for this kind of exposure and free marketing. Olympic headliners don’t get paid much like Super Bowl halftime show performers don’t get paid. The NFL (or in this case COJO) cover production costs like staging, lighting, etc, but performers themselves don’t get a fee.

 

If you wanna make the big bucks, seems you gotta go perform at an Indian wedding! 🤭 (Like, seriously, is there any A-Lister who wasn’t invited to perform or show up at that thing? I see even Law is there now!)

Haha I'm from India, and I CAN TELL you it's all a PR stunt by the billionaire family. I think in a parallel universe Céline might have gotten an invite if it were not for her condition and all.

They announced the Vogue cover also a few days before Vogue did.

So exciting! Can't wait for it.

I know that performance was not without it’s faults but some of it was amazing and I’m sure they could polish up the high belts where her voice was cracking. I hope I’m wrong 😑

I’m not a doctor so I won’t pretend to know things… however, I thought maybe the IVF inter muscular injections could have had an effect on Celine…however now Celine says symptoms first started during 2008 TCWT that’s after RC and before the twins. So who knows.

 

Céline herself said that it wasn’t caused by something in particular but rather “in [her] DNA”, she was always going to have it. Obviously, no one really knows and Céline isn’t a doctor, but she and her doctors are the best informed people on her particular case and our only reliable source.

Sadly, I think the L’Oréal campaign is over now; which is a shame as it was nice seeing her on TV and on YouTube all the time, plus she looks so much better these days.

 

Also, the rumoured Paris dates are for 2026, if I’m not mistaken.

No way. She’s training intensely for a reason. Otherwise, she could just as well lip sync all of her performances henceforth and mime to old recordings of every song. Didn’t want to mention her name but, oh well, like Mariah.
