Yeah I had the same thought but could she not have just done a voice-over at the Palms studio in LV that she normally uses? Why go all the way to NYC and Boston?

It’s a video done by Team Canada showcasing some of this Summer’s athletes who have overcome obstacles and who keep pushing through. Céline is narrating the French video while Michael J Fox did the English one.

Well it’s not just a video, it’s a broader campaign -

“The campaign also features six supplementary shorts, as well as out-of-home, digital, experiential, social media and print executions, which will be rolled out over the coming months in the lead up to and during the Games.”

 

Also, this -

“And of course we’re thrilled that two of Canada’s greatest performers volunteered their time and lent their voices to help tell them.”

Also love seeing Joannie Rochette comment on the IG post about this with her love for Celine. (For those who don’t remember, Joannie won bronze in skating just 2 days after her mom suddenly died of a heart attack while already at the Olympics with her daughter. Joannie then skated to Vole for the exhibition in honor of her mom.)

Yeah I do hope Céline has an entirely different outcome. So far it seems like it so I’m not fazed, but I agree. Nice in a way but also pretty horrific.

Perhaps here we can look for an answer (at least a partial one?) as to why this strange date was chosen for the documentary's release - a month before the Olympics.

 

The project is excellent! The national team will be presented by two Canadians who, by a twist of fate, will be, in a sense, competitive athletes for the rest of their lives, although they don't get medals for competing in their sports. Whoever came up with this, bravo!

 

In addition, for Céline, who has always been fascinated by athletes, and mother of sports-fan sons, this is probably extra fun and satisfaction.

 

Speaking of the juxtaposition with Michael J. Fox - well, they are both incurably ill and forced to fight for fitness, but fortunately SPS is not a neurodegenerative disease and is not progressive in all cases.

I haven’t given up on it. It would be one song, not a 2-hour concert. It can be pre-recorded; that wouldn’t be unusual for a mass global TV audience. If she were asked, I feel like she’d do everything in her power to make it happen. And from what we’ve seen of her in these past few months, seems to me that it could be doable.
