Céline Dion and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games

Another point which should have slapped me right in the Face is the connection of NBC and the Olympics. Hoda and Today team are covering it and will be onsite. She got the sit down interview with Celine.

 

Of course this is happening !!!

 

Yes, we had discussed this at the time of the pre-documentary interviews. All the ones Celine did were with the respective country's Olympic broadcasters (except Australia). But NBC, CBC, BBC, TF1 are all official Paris 2024 broadcasters, and both Hoda and Adrienne Arsenalut are going to be there for their respective networks, so we had theorized at the time this played into Celine's/ Amazon's choice of broadcasters for her interviews.

 

This, combined with her doing the voiceover for the Canadian Olympic Committee & the CBC... if an Olympic appearance does happen, as I expect it will, I suspect she might also do some follow-up interviews with Hoda (and Kelly) & Adrienne while on site.

I think it’s definitely happening. And two more reasons why

 

1. She didn’t release the Vegas dates yet until she shows on live tv she’s good to go. She confirmed YES it’s Vegas but the dates not yet - that’s hush hush. I think it will be Olympic performance and boom Vegas dates !

 

2. The vinyl release of the soundtrack is August 9. Could just be a coincidence yes. But why 1.5 months after the soundtrack is need out?

And it’s also why Celine was told not to say anything to hoda about when she’s returning to vegas, this is probably a pre-planned sequential rollout and it’s genius. Show the world why you couldn’t perform!(doc), tell them where you’re at now, (media blitzes and being out at public events) show them that you still can perform (Paris) then release the dates of the vegas shows now that people can see that you still “got it”

So do we think the biggest clue was the “Cèline Paris” shirt?

So do we think that’s the last we’ll see of Celine until then? I know we saw the nhl draft appearance but reports suggested that was last min ask and acceptance. When has Celine ever been a “EasterEgg” personality?!

Or you know....she just wanted to wear the brand. Maybe thought it was funny to wear a shirt with her name on it. I think people are reading way too far in this t-shirt thing.

I’ve said the same thing, I don’t know Celine to be the type to leave “Easter eggs” but at the same time… it has to be an Easter egg after that question the night before about the Olympics AND someone had to tell her about the hype of this rumored appearance…

 

Celine either gave a deliberate “Easter egg” OR she’s F—-ing with us. I would like to believe it’s the former.

Well back in 2019, she wore a shirt with FOMO on it and the next day out of the blue she premiered flying on my own in vegas, so kind of an easter egg there

Nah, but that t-shirt was definitely planned. Can't believe it didn't crossed her mind or her team that it might would gave the wrong signal.

I know we’re still wishful thinking at this point.. but if she does perform, I just hope it goes very smoothly. I hope she’s styled well, there’s no technical glitches, it’s a great song choice, and everyone is thrilled with how she sounds.

And if it’s pre-recorded track she lips to, I hope that doesn’t become the thing everyone talks about.

 

The Grammys moment got overshadowed by the Taylor snub moment, which was pretty annoying because that should have just been a moment more focused on Celine’s comeback appearance.

I know Celine would need to sing a French song. But if she sings two songs, and one of them could be in English, I think Because You Loved Me would be brilliant. It’s uplifting, one of her classics, and could bring the house down.
