I was listening to "L'envie" by Johnny Hallyday the other day and would love Céline to sing it again (she sang it in duet with Hallyday and a huge chorus on French television in the past).

 

Lyrics were written by Jean-Jacques Goldman and strongly resonate in the context of "I am Céline Dion" and the Olympics. Among other things, it mentions "overcoming sickness to appreciate good health", "feeling solitude to appreciate people" and "feeling the cold to enjoy... the flamme" .

 

"L'envie" would also be a way to celebrate/honor three beloved legends of French culture at the same time.

That's L'hymne a l'amour.

The Olympic Committee secured performance rights to it (which was reported several weeks ago) and that's when it became the key focus of speculation. (It was in the Le Parisien article on June 18, see here.)

If Céline did indeed record the Olympics song at Berklee, I’m a bit surprised. The message she was sending back in March was that she was not quite ready yet, including vocally. She even told Hoda in May that she wasn’t at 100% yet but was “100% on it”. So was she already in good enough shape in March to record the song? And why wouldn’t she wait until she was even better? Is this something they have to record four months in advance?

If it weren’t true wouldn’t Celine or her team deny claims? It makes sense to not deny even if not true to keep the buzz going for Olympics but not team Celine.
