she wants more up tempo , she never got that and that she likes it a lot. So she goes in others repertoire to find them, and that she have to do it again, she will do it even more. She seemed really determined.

 

So next album, more bubble pop or cover, I can already hear people crying. But it comes from Celine.

I could live without covers but OH IM SO ready for the "bubblegum pop" lol.. I'm in the minorities but "One Heart" was one of my favorite albums because I think it was Celine's most "pop" album and I loved it! I might be in the minority but I'm ready for a "One Heart" 2017 edition for her next english album with a few power ballads of course lol

i think with what she had to go through, it is normal that she would want more light hearted fluff , the same with the fashion , she wants some fun.

I need to listen to it a few more times but the first I was pleasantly surprised!! Time will tell if I like it more than SA... but I instantly like it way better than D'Elles!

This album is great...some Celine-style ballads...and uptempo more modern songs...its a great mix and its perfect at this time in the life of Celine. Thats what she wants and needs. Its perfect. I understand it and I love it!!! And its already a success AROUND the world even in French!!!. What can we ask more???

Thank you for sharing! The design of SONY Taiwan is amazing, surpassing some of her Jap-released CD's IMO. So glad I pre-ordered one myself.

Yes, but when she released her most succesfull French albums, iTunes did not exist

We can compare it only with Sans attendre and based on the first day it's doing better.

But you know, we must wait a week or more to see how it did in the first seven days on the official charts.

Just listened to the album from start to finish for the first time and I can honestly say I love it! Celine is a pop singer! The world's best selling female pop singer of all time! She's always sung pop songs! These comments saying the songs are too modern and too poppy are just bizarre to me. It's what she's always sung!

 

Anyway, rant over. Back to my thoughts on the album. My immediate thoughts are Celine wanted to record mostly upbeat happy songs whilst she was going through the toughest time in her life and that shines through for me. Yes there are some beautiful ballads but for me it's all about the up tempo songs. After one listen for me my immediate favourite aside from "Encore un soir" is "L'étoile" and that's because it's catchy, I love the melody and I really enjoyed listening to it. I remembered it once the album had finished. I don't look for a deeper meaning, I enjoyed the song and that's it. Over time it may change but for now that's the one i'm liking the most.

 

Other highlights for me include "Ma faille" - reminds me very much of material from 1F&4T - "Je nous veux" I also love for it's laid back approach and it some ways reminds of Je Sais Pas although I can't find the words to explain why lol. "Ordinaire" I've loved since I heard it at the live shows and i'm loving the studio version too. Bombastic vocals at the end! "Le bonheur en face" i really enjoyed too and it's now clear to me why "À la plus haute branche" won the contest. It's beautiful!!

 

Do you know what? I love this album. I've realised more and more whilst writing this and it's a worthy addition to Celine's discography. I'm sure my thoughts and favourites will change over time but for right now that's my initial thoughts.

I got to say that I’m in love with the album; 7 songs I can’t get out of my head. Was really surprised with the upbeat and midtempo tracks, À Vous even has some Stromae on it. Even if I was one of the disapproval voices to TSMGO (Studio crap) I love Ordinaire I know this dramatic/bombastic/histrionic songs are better live such as LBDB but this sounds goooood. Encore Un Soir (the song) it’s just a gem, they really nailed it with the first single.

The fact the deluxe edition wasn't made available in the U.S. is absolutely moronic. Hopefully this will make them realize her shows in the U.S. should have more than just one French song!

LOVE. THIS. ALBUM. After first day I can tell it flows very well for me, nice balance between ballads and uptempo songs.

"L'étoile" and "Les yeux au ciel": very catchy and uplifting.

Can’t imagine this album without EUS, so glad she called JJG!

‘Ordinaire’ is still one of my favorites. Quality sound makes wonders, to be honest didn’t expect to love studio version, but small changes she makes here like juis paaaaas etc

 

Out of more classic Celine french ballads, right now ”Si C’etait A Refair” stands out for me, Veneruso knows how to compose touching melodies, though I like a lot others also. Maybe except "Plus qu'ailleurs", I like how it sounds, but right now not the song I want immediately on repeat, different type, needs some time

Love all Zaho songs: Tu Sauras, could sound less like Zaho but I like it anyway, those high ooh oohs closer to the end omg Ma Faille is one my favorites today, very catchy and love the way she repeats ‘les mots’ and ‘de faux’, A Vous

ALPHB - best way to end the album, a jewel, had tears in my eyes every time I listened to it. Funny to remember disappointment by the votes result lol

Overall, to conclude, I really loved and still love SA, but here Celine sounds like 10 years younger and this album is very celinish for me: touches all the feelings possible but uplifting in general, it has all the colors and most importantly it still sounds coherently, versatile in a good way (just like that bottle).

So for me EUS is one of her best, love it and its concept, starting from the cover pic and ending with lovely note from Celine and ‘TVEC’ in the very end
