Just a couple of songs WOW me : A la plus haute.... and Ma Faille, the rest reminds me of D'elles, cute personal album...boring AF, I don't wanna be harsh and I WILL get the album, but I was expecting more...I can't remember a song! and that dind't happen with any album, listen to D'eux or even 1F&4T anf you will end up humming a few tunes even after one take...

Not a memorable album, maybe there is so much buzz around it because it is THE album after Rene and with Aldo as manager...but the only song that made me "remember" the album is Ma Faille

ALPHB is lovely, we know that, but I prefer the live version...

Hopefully the album will grow on me...

After a first listen:

Plus qu'ailleurs: Not a bad song at all. I'm surprised about all the negative comments about that one. I like it. Love the way it ends!

L'étoile: Good song. Catchy!

Ma faille: I like it but I have a feeling it's the kind of song we can get tired of quite fast.

Encore un soir: Love it of course. And I really like the longest version!

Je nous veux: I find this song is kind of boring. It's ok but nothing more. The weakest song on the album for me.

Les yeux au ciel: Love this one! Very catchy! I wanna sing it!!!

Si c'était à refaire: I like the piano at the beginning and at the end. Cute song. Reminds of S'il n'en restait qu'une.

Ordinaire: Was not sure about the studio version but finally I really like the result!

Tu sauras: Modern sound. It's different and it's good! Like it!

Toutes ces choses: Beautiful lyrics. I was touched by this song. There is something about it that I really like. A song to make you cry...

Le bonheur en face: I don't know what to say about that song. I don't know if I like it or not. I guess I will have to wait and see if it grows on me.

À la plus haute branche: I voted for this song when there was the contest. I really like it. It's a good song.

À vous: Nice surprise on the album! Modern sound. I love it!!! I like the way Celine sings on it.

Ma force: I think I read someone said there were similarities with Your Light and I agree. A bit of a country sound. Not a bad song. It will probably grow on me.

3h20: I really discovered that song at René's funerals and I really like it. I wish she would have re-record it though. But it's a good way to end this album.

I'm very pleased with this album!!! I can't wait to listen to it many times tomorrow!

Up to now my favorite songs are: Les yeux au ciel, À vous, Toutes ces choses, Encore un soir.

Goodnight!

Oh. My. God. I am blown away by this album!!!!!!!! It's simply amazing!!!! Overall, the album is extremely modern, and very, very catchy. Right now if I had to list my favorite tracks just after one listen it would have to be:

1. Ordinare

- I fell in love with the song the first time I saw the live video. The studio is AMAZING! Completely diva, bombastic Celine! You can just see how she moves around the stage. AMAZING!!!!!!!!

2. Tu Sauras

- This was actually the second song that came up on my iPod. I was stunned. It really shows the direction that they were going with the album. Very Modern! Just a great, catchy song!

3. L'étoile

- As above, a great catchy song! Really like how strong this is.

4. Les yeux au ciel

- I'm in love with guitar in the verses. The chorus is a little lack-luster but omg.

Overall, I'm blown away by this album. I have yet to hear a song on here that I don't like. Her voice is strong, and the production and instrumental are out of this world. Great Job Celine!!!! (Side note: Is it just me that's getting a kind of One Heart vibe? I'm basing this off of the music only as I know extremely little french, but I can't help but feel that )

Yes she's lost the love of her life and yet she's still making albums. She's strong even tough she should have retired and mourned for at least 10 years. But she's blessed us with an album we have no right to criticize even a slightest bit. We should be so grateful because something... anything... is always better than nothing.

exactly, but on top of that i really feel that she's doing it with love and feelings and not just making an album as some are saying,it sounds new and different from what we heard from her before, and believe me i would really say if there's anything to criticize as I always do in terms of fashion and looks but there isn't really as u said

Le Bonheur En Face reminds me of Ratatouille Movie (especially the intro guitar part)

EUS is already #1 in france (and the single is #1 again now too!!!!) She jumped from like 96 to #22 in the us! For a french album that makes me happy! I am still searching the other countries, but I am getting sleepy haha. I am excited for what we will see in the next 24 hours - 1 week. :w00t:

Here's my review after listening to the songs a couple of times:

Plus qu'ailleurs (7/10) - It's an interesting song to open the album with. The song itself is very light, stripped down, acoustic. For me, it's a nice little breath of fresh air and enjoyable, delicate, and refined. Usually, we have a dramatic or heavy beat song to open the album with (ESNRQ, TC, LMBTL), so it's nice for a little change.

L'étoile (10/10) - I love this song, it's very upbeat and catchy. Love the chorus regardless of the effect over her voice, I think it sounds rather cool. In my opinion, we've never had any French material quite like this song and it's a very welcome addition. Please replace the LCMM/RDMH medley with this song any day.

Ma faille (8/10) - The fight anthem in this album, the song itself has such a strong beat. It does remind me a lot of "Tous les secrets." Sadly, I feel it's buried under the up-tempo numbers and beautiful ballads that appear later in the album and therefore, can't really stand out as much.

Encore un soir (8/10 for the album version; 10/10 for the song) - I hate to say it, but I'm not a big fan of the album version. I was captivated by the single version and her live version on the tour. But I'm not a fan of the added ad-libs at the end of the song. In my opinion, the added phrases, "Encore un soir, encore un heure, un peu de nous," sound edited from the song. The vibrato on the last notes of those phrases is so wide and the phrases just sound dragged out. I'll probably eventually get used to it, but on my first couple of times hearing it, it just sounds odd. But of course, the song is beautiful and Goldman offers the very best once again.

Je nous veux (6/10) - It's a classic ballad and it grows to be so powerful by the end. Unfortunately, it's squished between EUS and LYAC, which causes it to be a bit forgotten for me.

Les yeux au ciel (10/10) - Looooooooove this song so much! It's incredibly catchy and upbeat. The song is very well written and flows so well. The chorus is just so mesmerizing and original. This is definitely single material!

Si c'était à refaire (9/10) - I love this ballad, it has this mysterious quality and is so haunting. Her voice is gorgeous in this! To me, it's "Je ne suis pas celle" Part 2. And for me, it's better than part one!

Ordinaire (9/10) - Amazing, the studio version definitely stands up to against the live versions from the tour. The little variations in pitches in the second verse just adds on to her mark on this song. The ending is so powerful. Love it!

Tu sauras (9/10) - Another amazingly catchy up-tempo song. The chorus is catchy and she has so much attitude in the verses!

Toutes ces choses (10/10) - I love this ballad. This is beautifully written, ever so delicate and meaningful, beautiful key change as well, it's like the sun just came out. The chorus is so beautiful, and the ending is so fragile. Love love love!

Le bonheur en face (9/10) - It has a different beat compared to her other material, but I like it. Love the acoustic vibe and the chorus catches my attention.

À la plus haute branche (10/10) - Heard it in Montreal and instantly fell in love with this song. Again, the studio version does it good justice. It is the perfect ending to the standard version.

Overall, the standard version of the album is very coherent in my opinion. Personally, I prefer the later half of the album starting from "Les yeux au ciel" but as a whole, the album is very enjoyable. To me, the album is a blend between 1F&4T and D'elles, having much of the up-tempo, upbeat, and acoustic elements from the 1F&4T, while having the delicacy, artistry, and polish of D'elles. The up-tempo numbers offered in this album are different than those that we've heard before and carry a modern and catchy element. I would really hope that "Les yeux au ciel," "L'étoile," and "Tu sauras" are considered as single material because they certainly deserve it, they have "radio" written all over them. The ballads in the album are ever so beautiful. "Toutes ces choses," "Si c'était à refaire," and "À la plus haute branche" are gems and carry so much emotion. The collaborations with Zaho, Grand Corps Malade, and Marc Dupre certainly shine and she should definately work with them again in the future.

I agree. I like the radio edit more than the album version.

Am listening right now!

Plus qu'ailleurs: Very pleasant song, nothing extraordinary but nice to listen to

L'étoile: I like the lyrics. Muscially it's quite banal

Ma faille: This is a great, modern song. I find Celine's accent strange though

Encore un soir: Nothing left to say. A classic

Je nous veux: I love the melody of this song and could listen to it many times

Les yeux au ciel: Nice but I think it's very derivative

Si c'était à refaire: Celine's voice is allowed to shine on this song which is lovely. Will never be a hit but a song for the fans

Ordinaire: It's the new version of les blues du businessman

Tu sauras: forgettable electro-pop

Toutes ces choses: It's ok but I think an old lady song. The ending is beautiful if you can get that far

Le bonheur en face: neither here nor there, a filler song

À la plus haute branche: fabulous song

À vous: Random to hear this after ALPHB!!! I do like it but disrupts the album so much!

Have to go into meetings now so will listen to the last two later today

A very very bad review. The album is completely trashed.

Yes but this type of journalist will never enjoy a Celine Dion album

À vous :w00t:

This song ridicules Sorry for Love and À Cause. Amazing I simply love it. Can't wait to at last play a Céline song in a party and not having my friends saying "ohh no, her again". It's so danceable, love the techno beat (love it for party) and it fits her voice so f******** well . At first listen I thought that the "latin-chorus" were really weird – but hey! you just have to loose it! Can't wait to play it tomorrow in the street with my headphones. The city is gonna burn.

My thoughts exactly! I have friends round every week before we go out and we play videos on the tv for music. Normally I can get away with I Drove All Night, I'm Alive or That's The Way It Is but when I start to get adventurous in my choices that's when people start to groan! Think À Vous is going to be a surprise to everyone on Saturday! It just needs a trendy music video like the scenes from the making of clip!

How does it work with individual songs max? If people buy albums the songs don't count?
