"Encore Un Soir" album - Official Topic

There's an extra bit of piano that goes up at the beginning before "une photo". And towards the end after the final chorus.. There's again a few extra bars before and after the high "un pe de tout" and encore et encore des "encore"s.

 

Think i'm just to used to listening to the radio version, but this one seems to sap all the energy/momentum at the end.

 

This version has been out a while and I thought it was a big improvement! I love the song and now it lasts longer! When I first heard the song I thought the ending needed to be longer.... Glade they thought the same!

I know the album version, but what exactly is different in the instrumental? Browsceline talks about a different beat? I can't hear any difference between the radio edit and the album version.

 

I'm just glad it lasts longer, but would have preferred Celine to sing the last "encore une heure, un peu de nous" like during the concerts. More punchy!

Quite shocked at the red heads album review!

 

I'm a bit disgusted actually. I don't care for their opinion.

 

They shouldn't have written anything before all the worldwide fans have had the chance to get the album and listen properly and decide for themselves.

 

I'm never swayed too much by other opinions anyway, as much as I'm curious to hear them.

Yeah... I really appreciate everything the redheads do for all the fans but on this one I think it was out of order.... Why try and put the fans off? Do they not want it to sell well? So confused at their strategy!

Quite a few years ago there was a guy who had a brilliant factual fan website and had a good following. But he got too big for his boots and really slagged off the One Heart album then tried to get an autograph. He went a bit psycho and threw in the towel. I hope the RHs aren't going the same way!

I am going to play some songs of the album to my mother! I think she is the ultimate test. She is not a fan but she likes several Celine songs and admires her voice.

 

I am still undecided about which songs to pick though... I will let you know of her thoughts, I think it matters what non-fans think of the album.

I think some songs will come as a shock to the non fans so be careful what you play

I'm going for 95,00 France and 100,00 Canada... Hope I'm wrong and it sells more... Luke?

i don't know , there is many choices, depends on what she liked in the past, if it is the bombastic, Ordianire, The happy Celine, L'étoile, the melamcholy, si c'était à refaire...

I read here that they changed that review. I guess they realized that they blew it big time, or maybe someone had to tell them that.

Same. I am not good at predicting. What I value the most is that people seem so hungry for Celine music. EUS is steadily inside Top 10 of French i-tunes for 3 whole months now. And Celine is not a singles artist. This might be translated into unexpectedly high numbers for the album. Possibly higher than 100k.

 

A more theoretical approach is that nobody expected SA to debut with almost 100k copies in both countries. Now that we do expect such figures, the album might turn out to sell a lot more and surprise us again.

 

Fact is the album has all tools to be a groundbreaking success. I see nothing that can stop it from conquering the francophone music industry.

I'm with Kev about the choice of first song being a bit slow and underwhelming. But I think I understand. I never liked Je Crois Toi for years. It's perhaps to allow the album to grow and draw you in slowly as it progresses. Peak too soon and you'll be waiting for that next big thing that just doesn't come around. I get it.

I listened to a 4 times album, and The First time I heard I found strange the music and the voice of Celine on some songs, but after I got used to it, this album is very different from all his French albums, is more modern, more pop, that's not bad it's just a change in the way Celine is singing his songs and the way it is recording. The music changed, more good music become a hot no matter if it is modern or not, just be good music.

 

I will talk and give my opinion although some people attack me then, more have some songs I do not like the voice of Celine, do not know what they did, so I think I overreacted and made her voice robotics.

 

More the album is good, I hope he does not have the same target LBTL and fall fast on the charts, I cheer for them to do a good job of publicity and launch good singles, I think Ma Faille is the second single.

ohhh...my first listening new album....the album is great for me! More better than I thought...than I waited... amazing...wonderful... love it... after my first listening I am not able to say my absolutely favorite songs.... I love My Force - incredible!! I love Encore un soir...I love Le bonheur en face. I go to listen again and

again... I am afraid my night will be without sleep...because...I am so excited...

Hope tomorrow I will able to say my 5 favorite songs...after my first listening it seems... I like all....really this album is great!!! I am happy and enjoy listening. :clap:

I remember when D'EUX was release. I HATED 'Le ballet' so much. It took me yearssss to like it and now its one of my favorite song ever!

I just can't stop listening À Vous. It's so Céline, fresh, modern, diva-ish, and the french language is so beautiful.

I've send Tu seras to my mother. She hated LOL. And one thing she always do with songs she hate, she put a new lyric on portuguese. On "la ou tu seras" she now sings.. Amaldiçoar. Which means curse.
