For those of you worried about the leaks, I did a quick search and the album didn't hit the torrent sites yet.

Ok, so tomorrow morning I'm gonna check if the album is on sale in the record store. If I find one, I'm gonna cancel the order from Amazon. Another thing, my CD player with surround system broke few days ago.

 

Sorry for the off-topic, but what kind of CD player with surround system you have?

To those of you worrying about the leaks: Not even the album version of EUS is available on YT. Enough said.

That happens only because YouTube blocks all the songs from the new album. I uploaded the "making-of" vids and they got blocked in 244 countries because of the songs heard there. The removing helped to unblock them

It's very nice to see Celine raving about how she got young songwriters that send her "modern" songs with a fresh sound, but that will serve nothing if then they chose as the next single another ballad, or promote the slow songs in TV as they use to do

 

So let's see what happens. I already fear them with a choice like ALPHB or Ordinaire, that despite great songs, they're not single material for radio at all.

After listening to the album twice, my review in case anyone’s interested. Too bad I don’t understand much of the lyrics, so it’s only based on the songs itself.

It feels like a coherent album, there’s one big exception for me though. At 2/3rd of the album, I get the feeling that Ordinare and Tu sauras sound as they should not be on this album. They have a different kind of approach in instruments and production. For Ordinaire, her voice seems to be more “on top” of the music instead of nicely blending in as the rest of the tracks. Tu sauras also doesn’t have the same intimate and acoustic approach as all the other tracks have. It could have been a nice sidestep from the rest, but they both are also so different from each other that it just doesn't work for me.

But overall, I like it very much. With D'eux and 1F4F this will probably one of my favorite French albums. Can't wait to hear it from vinyl this weekend!

1) Plus qu’ailleurs

Lovely sweet song, got a nice “French” touch with the accordeon halfway the song. Not the best opener I think though.

2) L’étoile

Could grow into one of my fav’s. Love the positive vibe, don’t have an opinion on the effect on her voice. They could have done it without that effect, doesn’t add much extra for me. Great strings!

3) Ma faille

Had high expectations after listening to the preview, but I find it a bit boring after listening to it in full. Too repetitive. Maybe it’ll grow on me, it has a nice flow at least.

4) Encore un soir

Highlight of the album. Instant-classic, but I think we already knew that. JJGold. Any more superlatives?

5) Je nous veux

Classic Dion signature-ballad. Not that original, but not bad either. Don’t mind the grainy voice, it’s nicely dosed.

6) Les yeux au ciel

Nice upbeat and positive sounding track, catchy chorus.

7) Si c’était à refaire

This song just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe because I don’t understand most of it, but the melody and way of singing is just too boring for me.

8) Ordinaire

As I said before, I don’t feel like it should’ve been put on this album. I kinda liked it live because of the live orchestra, but here it just doesn’t fit the album. Too bombastic compared to the intimate songs. Could be the compression of the MP3 but I'm anxious for the vinyl/CD-version. And I know what it means to Céline, so I understand why it's on EUS but nope, I just doesn't do it for me. Tastes differ ;-)

9) Tu sauras

Same as Ordinaire, sounds like it should be on a different album. Too poppy, too much reverb on the drums. The chorus is too repetitive (though catchy).

10) Toutes ces choses

And we’re back into the theme and acoustic style of this album. Lovely ballad. Believe it or not, it reminds me of Frank Sinatra’s “My way” although, thank God, it stays small and doesn’t end with a big apotheosis.

11) Le bonheur en face

Lovely, small song. Not that special for me (yet).

12) A la plus haute branche

Gorgeous and emotionally haunting at the same time. Definitely a highlight for me.

It could never be wrong, this album is for sure another music masterpiece from our dear beloved Celine Dion, maybe i am too deeply in love with Celine as an inspirational icon, whatever she did will be awesome......But to be really frank, this album consist the old Celine that we loved, the new Celine that we never heard before, in short, Celine has not lost her special and uniqueness but she evolves to a whole new level with better greater in it......

 

Surprisingly i really in love with "Le Bonhuer en face".

 

The power of Celine Dion is i dont understand a single word of french but hearing singing .....as if i know what is the song meant to me, is miracle........now perhaps friend from this forum share with us the English translation of each song.

 

Love this album 10/10 ....and cant wait for new English album

I have a feeling Ordinaire will be the second single. I'd love Tu Sauras though.

Sorry for the off-topic, but what kind of CD player with surround system you have?

 

Nothing extravagant actually. Just a Sony Home Cinema system that is 10 years old and decided to take a holiday at the service center right before Céline releases her new long awaited album . I thought to buy a new one, but I can't afford it right now. And the rear speakers are embedded into the wall so it makes the thing more complicated.

Not sure, but it is the only song she performed in Paris at a tvshow.

It googles easily, but I can explain too. It's a browser extension for Chrome that helps you cheat on some sites or services and make them think that you're trying to access them from another country. Just install it, then choose "New Zealand" in the list of country and go to spotify.com. Then login and find "Celine Dion" on Spotify
