Since the deluxe edition was not made available to those of us in the United States, I was forced to shop elsewhere. So, I ordered the deluxe edition through Amazon.ca. My copy is preparing to ship. I should receive it no later than mid next week. WooHoo!

I'm in love with Je Nous Veux and Ma Force, they remember me so much 1F&4T and her voice isn't "squeezed" like some of the other songs.

I have bought my copy today and listened to the album just once.

 

Indeed, it's a very modern album, different from Sans Attendre.

The artwork/Cover art is very simple, elegant and classy just like Céline.

 

My favorite songs so far are:

 

- Encore un soir

- Ordinaire

- A la plus haute branche

- A Vous

- Ma Force

 

 

Plus Qu'ailleurs is a good song but shouldn't be the first track.

they did some great things during that last tour , i am very thankful to them, but their review, i don't understand .

The RH review was bad yesterday evening. Now they changed it and I have a feeling like they are being kiss-asses and saying things they don't even think.

 

I just edited "Ma faille" to lower the pitch, and it sounds much more like Celine! Now it's a true gem :wub:

So , les yeux aux ciel even though the music is great, would i have gone telling those kind of things to my son at that age, even if they are true..he would have looked at me with questions in his eyes. He would have said : too cheesy , mom.

 

The other song i have some reserve is Toutes ces choses, it is like reading positive messages on your facebook wall, but i don't hate the song. Just a little too evident.

Hm. Halfway through the album.

 

She's correct that 'Ceci n'est pas un album, c'est une page de notre histoire'. I really feel like I've flipped straight to the middle of a book. It's not a whole book, it's not a series of chapters,.. it almost just amounts to one descriptive passage. And I kind of really love that from a macro/meta perspective, even though from a micro perspective I'm honestly pretty bored listening haha.

 

p.s. The only thing that super bugs me is why is EUS different?!

Yes i have to say i do not like what they did with the albumversion of eus. It is too long. The bassline changed...i like the radio edit so much more! I wished to have that one on the cd.

what is wrong with the red heads review? it is a well written and educated review in my opinion. their comment about some of her vocal tics and enunciation that we thought were gone but are back is very on point. it doesnt mean the songs are bad, it just means that the songs could have been even better without those little issues that are not noticeable for listeners to whom french is not a native language. the first thing i noticed in some of the songs was those tics and some poor enunciation and it irritated me, but it didn't make me love the songs any less. their critiques of the songs have been quite valid, and the overall critique is way more positive than it is negative.

Celine did the same with Parler à mon père and it was her most succesful french song for a while...so i think she may continue the trend if you ask me. this album is different with different style, and Celine gave some different colors to the songs, it is not so bad , Parler à mon père is way worst in that regard. I think it was looking for a needdle in a haysack, searching for the little problems when there is so many great things to say. this is where their review lost me. There's an extra bit of piano that goes up at the beginning before "une photo". And towards the end after the final chorus.. There's again a few extra bars before and after the high "un pe de tout" and encore et encore des "encore"s.

 

Think i'm just to used to listening to the radio version, but this one seems to sap all the energy/momentum at the end.
