I am dying to listen to the new album tonight/tomorrow when it comes out. I've read so many different opinions, and am really scared to listen to it. Crossing my fingers I'll love it just as much as all her other albums :-D

Plus qu'ailleurs is so good. Easy to listen, but, yeah, EUS should be the opening track

Her voice is like it's in the front i don't know how to say this but her voice is not blending with the song. I can hear that there are some effects but you can barely hear it because her voice is like so direct. But the ending was great! It's like The Show Must Go On Part 2

Le bohneur un face

I'm still waiting for this blasted "Pre-Ordered" iTunes orange button to change to download!!!! Argh!

But, in the meantime, I have to say...after having read some of the comments here and on the RH Fb page, I think we need to take into account how difficult it was for Celine and her team to define the concept of this album. Is it going to be an homage to Rene? Is it going to be a journey in rediscovering and redefining herself? Is it going to be artistically true to Celine's trademark style or is it going to be a way for

Celine and her fans to discover new ways to exchange emotions?

And I don't think it ended up being just one thing...it's a little bit of everything. She's singing her pain for his passing, the bittersweet taste this has left her with, her internal journey in redefining herself as a woman and as an artist without Rene physically by her side. And I don't think that this is as easy as it sounds or seems from the outside.

From what I've heard in some of the previews, some of the songs admittedly are too 'modern' for Celine's standards. I agree. And I don't think that there should be ANY effects on Celine's voice besides some reverb. The heavy effects processing is for lesser voices, CERTAINLY NOT for her!!! And yes melodically the songs are not of D'eux 's standards.

But I think that this album is more about the lyrics and the emotion behind everything rather than the production and the music. And the 'inconsistency' of the genres, if I can put it that way, (one song is a ballad, then it's EDM, then it's Latin etc), I think it's just a part of the process of redefining who she is. When you're trying to redefine the ground you stand on, you're bound to take a few wrong turns here and there. It's more of a trial-and-error process than anything else.

So to cut a long story short (LOL), I gotta say that I really REALLY REALLY respect and admire her for taking that chance to go through the process for the whole world to see. It would have been far easier to take a tried and tested formula of an album and put out something just for the sake of it while minimizing the risks by doing something she know her fans would accept. But she's chosen to be authentic and genuine and once again, go through a very difficult process while sharing everything with her fans.

If anything, we have to admire that.

Just my opinion though. Not trying to force it upon anyone here!

My favourite song is L'etoile (even though the chorus sounds a bit off); the zaho collaborations are not my cup of tea at all; overall it is a rushed job; other standouts are "a la plus haute branche" and "les yeux au ciel"; oh and special mention for "plus qu'ailleurs" (one of the worst song ever) and it is the number 1 track on the album.

So I'm finally finishing to listen to the album for the first time ever. Here are some random impressions

Ordinaire for me is definitely number one favorite on this album. The vocals are not behind-the-music which's great. And it's not insanely AutoTuned. Really reminds TSMGO in some way but for me it's even better. The second for me is Encore Un Soir - it's obvious. Si C'était à Refaire is pretty much on par with EUS. It amazes me with it's simplicity but some kind of power behind (quite hard to express my thoughts on music in English since it's not my native language). Toutes Ces Choses is №3, the melody is very touching and the vocals sound particularly emotional. Also I love the backing (or double) vocals on this one in some places. Je nous veux and Le Bonheur En Face would probably be №4 and №5 respectively. The latter one features some interesting effects in terms of singing the choruses in two octaves.

And all in all, I adore this album. For me it's always extremely hard to chose my favorite songs/albums. I'd definitely give them all 10/10 if I had to rate them on Google Play or iTunes. A La Plus Haute Branche is touching also, very simple and yet so emotional. My least favorite is probably Ma Faille because it's just not a song for Celine. I mean, of course she has to make progress and evolve, but I still prefer the power ballad/love/downtempo instrumental/uptempo a-la LBDB kind of song. "Super-modern" sound with a fast beat and a lot of effects put over her voice... Meh, it just doesn't work for me. Though A vous sounds surprisingly well to me.

Don't understand the hate for Plus qu'ailleurs. It's like apprends-moi 2. Maybe it's because is the opening track?

Submitting a review without having listened the album until the very end was a mistake actually. Ma Force is extremely good to my taste. Sounds like something taking from D'elles like Les Paradis and mixed with the soft-rockish sound of Taking Chances album. Definitely a highlight of the album, shame it's only featured on the Deluxe version. I think it could work very well as an opener insted of Plus Qu'ailleurs. Though the latter is still acceptable for me. I think it also reminds me of D'elles. Edited by Gulenkov

I have bought the album deluxe on iTunes already. I really like her sing like this, not need power much but emotions and lyrics. However, this is still great album as same as other album, so much memory, experience in life that one person have faced. I like it not disappointed at all. Q for Quality as the same.
