maybe you'll change till tonight... :giggle:

LOL :giggle: :giggle: . No. This i'm pretty sure. ALPHB is the worst song ever. Melody is so bad, so repetitive, is very clear to me it's an amateur who did.And Toutes ces choses is tacky... Not for my taste

Tu Sauras, the music is very modern. Celine should sing the soundtrack for Star trek or Star Wars.

I enjoyed Ma Force too... Sounds like a slower, more melodical version of Your Light.

I can't believe I won't have the album tomorrow

For me, Ma Faille is like a soundtrack song from a movie (animated) like Tous Les Secrets

Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted on this forum, but a new release is always a good reason to come here and do my review.

Before I start let me say something else first. Apparently if you are a PAYING customer of Spotify you can travel the whole world but are obliged to stick with your country's available music wherever you are. BUT if you use it for free you can change your country to the country you are currently residing in and listen to the music that country currently has available for you, no problem! Lesson: don't pay! Thanks for clearing that up, Spotify! Lesson learned.

Ok here we go with the review.

I am seriously hoping I don't have to make an appointment with a psychiatrist after listening to this album, because man...this album has a serious multiple personality disorder and I hope it's not contageous. :-)

If Loved Me Back To Life and Celine's French material married and had a child, it would be called Encore Un Soir. Half the songs are mainstream bubblegum pop, and the other half are classic French Celine material. And they are all mixed together in some mashup called an album.

Ok, I have to admit that from time to time I secretly enjoy bubblegum pop songs in a way like a dirty pleasure, but I also know that the fun with those songs quickly subsides over time. It's just not something I would want to have in abundance on Celine's albums, especially not her French ones! I want those albums to last, to be timeless. Bubblegum pop a la 2016 is by definition not timeless in my humble opinion.

This album marks a changing point in her French career. Up to this day every French album was a classy piece of art. Some art I like better than other art, but it's still art. But Encore Un Soir tries to please two different audiences at once and results in being half Spotify-mainstream-playlist (in other words: teenager) friendly and half classy and artistic material. It has both the commercial touch as her latest English album had and the French/Quebecois touch her French material has.

Still, I am not saying that I therefore hate this album, I think it has a lot of nice songs, a few gems and a lot of fun-to-listen-in-the-car songs.

If last year and next year new classy French albums were, and were going to be, released I would welcome this album with open arms as a change of tune, just for fun, but since it is probably the only release in French for a few years I'd say it is a little bit disappointing, but yet still enjoyable. But I am affraid the fun will wear off soon.

But since it was my first listen, I hope I am wrong.

My favourite song? Trois Heures Vingt. Master piece.

Haha, for real, I am not kidding. But of course the new material has some gems as well, my favourites are: Ordinaire (indeed, as someone mentioned, the arrangement lacks power, just like with Et S'il N'en Restait Qu'une they should have put the orchestra more up front, but apart from that it is still a beautiful song), A La Plus Haute Branche, Toute Ces Choses and here comes the dirty pleasure... A Vous... Oh I so want to hate this song, but I just can't help it. It's like a trashy girl who is just so attractive...I can't help but be attracted to her... (I know most of you don't relate to that, and probably more women here do relate to that than the men on this forum (haha), but yes I am attracted to women... I just am.. can't help it that I love Celines music too... :-) )

Overall this album is impossible to describe, so here is my diagnosis instead: 'MPD'. Big time...

Still a 7/10 (once again: only after the first listen. Subject to change.)

Since the deluxe edition was not made available to those of us in the United States, I was forced to shop elsewhere. So, I ordered the deluxe edition through Amazon.ca. My copy is preparing to ship. I should receive it no later than mid next week. WooHoo! Edited by SuperLove4Celine

Ma force should be the next single! It is modern like Your Light + Contre nature. Perfect with guitar like Country music. The english version should be on new english album 2017. Edited by Thanato

A Vous

Too modern and wierd. It could be a great additional track to LMBTL or a standalone single 6/10

Ma Force

great 7/10

THV

9/10

All in all, more highlights than SA, but only 2 songs match the quality of her classics and none touchedd me like SJNRDT.

Gahhhh I'm trying so hard to hold out on listening to previews it's killing me!!!!

I finally decided to pre-order the digital album through Google Play so I can hear it right away tomorrow since my physical copy from Amazon.ca won't be here until next week. Can't wait!

apart from plus qu'ailleurs which sounds tired (but still good), this album is EPIC! I am in love with it. So many highlights it is just incredible.

Toutes ces choses!!! where did this gem come from??????

l'etoile, what a lovely surprise.

ma faille, tu sauras so modern and upbeat!

some vintage celine in je nous veux, si c'etait a refaire, ordinaire.

les yeux au ciel is beautiful and of course so is the title song!

le bonheur en face is nice.

But the cherry on top of the cake is A la plus haute branche: just wow makes me tear up everytime i listen to it.

I am in heaven now.

Hm. Halfway through the album.

She's correct that 'Ceci n'est pas un album, c'est une page de notre histoire'. I really feel like I've flipped straight to the middle of a book. It's not a whole book, it's not a series of chapters,.. it almost just amounts to one descriptive passage. And I kind of really love that from a macro/meta perspective, even though from a micro perspective I'm honestly pretty bored listening haha.

p.s. The only thing that super bugs me is why is EUS different?!

what song do you think is the 2nd single?

According to the extracts, i will say Ma Faille or Les Yeux Au Ciel.

But, I can say all had a chance to be an single, because they are all amazing.

But, before release the 2nd single, it will be nice to see the music video for Encore Un Soir :giggle:

Can someone help me with the lyrics from TU SAURAS???

She's singing different lyrics from that site posted here some pages before...

At this part:

*J'irai où tu me emmenerá*

The ** parts are what I'm trying to figure out...

If someone wants to PM me a link to download the album, that would be AMAZING! :-D

I've already pre-ordered multiple copies but I can't wait any longer! :giggle: :w00t:

I've listened to the album several times now, and my thoughts are as follows:

**disclaimer** I do not speak or understand the French language, so my thoughts are strictly from a vocal/melodic/production standpoint. More how the songs make me feel vs. the lyrical content they offer.

1. Plus Qu'Ailleurs - 3/5 - Not a favorite of mine. Vocals are tender and soft with an acoustic vibe. It feels earthy and warm.

2. L'etoile - 5/5 - One of my favorites, a standout for sure. Great upbeat song, feels good, and catchy. Love how the chorus opens up and the claps in the backround just make me want to move. Wish it was a longer track.

3. Ma Faille - 5/5 - Another standout track. Feels... somber and reflective, but upbeat at the same time. The chorus really opens up and soars. Modern and delicious.

4. Encore Un Soir - 4/5 - Beautiful track, love the extended version on the album. If I understood the lyrical content I'd probably appreciate this one more.

5. Je Nous Veux - 4/5 - Lovely ballad, one of the best ballads on the album. Vocals sound very emotional, almost fragile, but with strength behind them. Some grainy vocals here, but they sound good to me.

6. Les Yeux Au Ciel - 5/5 - Probably my most favorite song. Love the melody, musicality, and overall positivity that courses through this gem.

7. Si C'etait A Refaire - 2/5 - Don't really care for this one. The melody, especially the chorus, I just don't care for. Again, I may appreciate it more if I understood the language.

8. Ordinaire - 2/5 - I know this seems to be a fan favorite, but as a non-french speaker I don't really get the feels at all.

9. Tu Sauras - 5/5 - Love this modern, fresh song. Feels cool, very modern, very radio friendly. The verses sound gorgeous, and the chorus is big and arena-ready.

10. Toutes Ces Choses - 3/5 - Soft slow ballad. It's pretty, but doesn't stand out for me.

11. Le Bonheur En Face - 4/5 - Love this mid-tempo ballad. The chorus is like a warm summer breeze. Makes me smile.

12. A La Plus Haute Branche - 2/5 - Don't really care for this one. Understanding the lyrics may be a big part of it. Otherwise, it's slow and rather boring.

Overall, 3.5/5. For the first time in, I think, ever, I love the uptempo songs more than the ballads on this album.
