marc-02 Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM (edited) They made a poster to sum up the opening ceremonies incorporating the major elements of the show into one image. So naturally, if you zoom in... yes Celine is right there at the center. You can also spot Lady Gaga, the masked/hooded woman, Rafa, Aya, etc If they made this available, I'd definitely buy this as a souvenir! Ajax Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:05 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:05 AM To answer your first question: Read my earlier post and watch the comparison video posted by someone else. Perhaps many people (here) want to believe so hard that she’s back where she was a few years ago, that it may be too hard to even ponder over the hypothesis that she’s not there (yet) as with regards to the more difficult and powerful notes. This video demonstrates how different the 2 versions ares. God ! 1 Quote
neocshs Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:08 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:08 AM The only reason why they do sound similarish is because it is the way she's accostumed at performing it.. there is plenty of little variations.. there might be pitch correction here and there, but I am quite sure it is a totally new version, or at least it didn't come from the AMAs performance 5 Quote http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs638.snc4/59806_1286422260657_1833187247_552295_3401062_n.jpg http://www.celinedionitalia.com/banner.png VISITATECI Facebook - Claudio Liggi Youtube - neocshsYoutube - CelineDionItalia93CelineChannelForum - My works about célineCelineChannelForum - neocshs's covers CelineDionMultimedia - my blog

ABMs Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:15 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:15 AM (edited) To answer your first question: Read my earlier post and watch the comparison video posted by someone else. Perhaps many people (here) want to believe so hard that she’s back where she was a few years ago, that it may be too hard to even ponder over the hypothesis that she’s not there (yet).. That question was rhetorical. I was not seeking an answer. And perhaps it’s that two or 3 people (here) want to believe so hard that she’s tricking the whole world about her current abilities, and that pitch correction can correct raspiness and even wrong lyrics from her 2015 performance, and change the vocal technique employed in some parts too. At this point, it would be more logical to suggest that she got a random singer to sing it, then turned it into her vocals using AI. At least that would explain the fact that not a single note from 2015 overlaps (in the comparison video), and help those who want to stand by the “trickster” theory stick to it. (Again I don’t believe this is the case at all) If you know a thing or to about pitch correction, you don’t need anyone to tell you that there is no way to correct the raspy “sous le ciel” or the “Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes” parts from 2015, into the clear notes of 2024. It’s just technically not possible. Are we in the negative or positive side about the performance? I think we should just focus on enjoying the moment. Having her huge comeback. Like the people praising her. Do that curiosity when she goes back in LV to do a residency show. I fully agree. We got to witness one of the most epic, iconic performances of her entire career. It’s beyond me why people would decide to dissect it and try to ruin its splendor, trying to make up something from nothing. Edited July 28, 2024 at 11:18 AM by ABMs 6 Quote

Popular Post mirage Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:24 AM Popular Post Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:24 AM (edited) . For your information: in order to create those mixed voice belts, a lot of strength and control over not only the vocal cords but also the larynx is needed. One needs quite some routine, training and fitness to do that Guess what's she's been doing for months now?Can all the 'professionals' on the lipsync debate start their own topic somewhere else? Because we witnessed something iconic Friday night! The whole world witnessed something iconic! The praise, the love, the emotions. And in French. Let's enjoy this, because this definitely was a once in a lifetime. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-F721B met Tapatalk Edited July 28, 2024 at 11:27 AM by mirage 11 Quote

Veelxpz Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:32 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:32 AM There's also a difference between the 2015/2024 versions that I didn't see anyone talk about. For the final phrase, in 2015,it was "Dieu réunit/ceux/qui s'aiment" (she took a breath between them, idk how to explain it I'm far from being an expert). In 2024 it was "Dieu réunit ceux... Qui s'aiment" (no breath between réunit and ceux). 4 Quote
ScotieG Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:43 AM Posted July 28, 2024 at 11:43 AM Yeah, putting those two versions side by side only highlights how different they are. 2 Quote

As someone above suggested, that part was obviously rerecorded, just like some other "money notes" throughout the song... but the rest are from the AMA performance. I compared the two versions line by line, and the melisma (i.e. dans le BLEU), the pauses, the breath, length of notes are all the same. For those saying there were raspy parts and different lyrics, those were obviously the new and rerecorded lines, and there were several of them. There's even a line there where she used head voice in the AMA but opted for chest voice in the Olympic version. So yeah, there were rerecorded parts. But for the most part, they are from the AMA performance. And I will say it again, I have nothing against them using the AMA performance because I actually liked it! I loked that they used it and just made improvements. Edited July 28, 2024 at 11:52 AM by marc-02 Quote

So she has the ability to rerecord “money-notes” but the easy notes and low notes is where she draws the line at and reuses 9 years old vocals? Makes total sense! Having her huge comeback. Like the people praising her. Do that curiosity when she goes back in LV to do a residency show. Well, I sincerely disliked the CCTV type of camerawork. Some angles reminded me of a webcam. Some shots were unflattering (double chin and swayback). I loathe the quick lower chin movements as if she is creating vibrato with that. Céline has basically always demonstrated perfect natural (classical) vibrato in her belts (other than Whitney for that matter, as is easily noticed in for example IWALY live performances). Quote

Makes total sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Why rerecord the easy and low notes when they are okay/on pitch? Don't fix what's not broken. It's the money notes that needed rerecording because they were the ones off pitch and messy in the AMA performance. Why rerecord the whole thing when you can just rerecord the messy parts (which happened to be the money notes). Edited July 28, 2024 at 11:56 AM by marc-02 Quote

Popular Post Philippe Posted July 28, 2024 at 12:50 PM Popular Post Posted July 28, 2024 at 12:50 PM Can we say it is or will ultimately be her most acclaimed performance? AdrienneM Posted July 28, 2024 at 01:02 PM Posted July 28, 2024 at 01:02 PM Her tone is pretty much identical to 2015, before all that excessively nasal/froggy sound started - which makes sense if all of that was due to SPS “compensating” techniques. It is obvious though that this is a recent recording, my guess is Berklee in March. I’m still of the belief they recorded this at a rehearsal, as if you listen to the high quality broadcast audio, there are multiple things that make it sound like a live take vocal in front of an actual mic. Namely, the breathing and the moment where she physically moves away from the mic but continues singing at a distance… she’s never done that on a pre recorded vocal in the studio ever, and the overall quality of it is far more comparable to the 2017 BBMAs track which was just a vegas rip, than to an actual studio vocal for a track 1 Quote
karatedude317 Posted July 28, 2024 at 01:02 PM Posted July 28, 2024 at 01:02 PM “the state of health of Céline Dion - suffering from stiff person syndrome - was so fluctuating that she kept the possibility of not coming at the last moment if she did not feel able to.” This makes it even more special and amazing, that we were able to experience this iconic and historic performance. She may look “normal” again, but this is definitely a reminder that she’s still suffering, and it’s jolting to read 6 Quote
