Oh My Dion For her, Skies of L.A. is about palms (and not pollution). OK everyone can interpret a song differently.

And she didn't remember the song I remember L.A..

 

I suppose on a serious note some songs do have different meanings to different people.

 

I was listening to her singing Show Must Go On the other day. This clearly had a lot of meaning to her around the time of Rene's illness and death and was very apt. Although similar it does not have the exact same meaning to Freddie Mercury singing it and showing his own vulnerability prior to his death.

 

When it comes to the Voice though, last time I saw the Vegas show in October 2018 there had just been a massacre at a Synagogue in Pittsburgh which she referred to prior to performing the Voice. She may well know the original meaning of the song therefore.

She knows. Check the interview she did with Lisa Wilkins below (relevant part starts around 9:15). She started including the song shortly after the Vegas shootings, it's not a coincidence. She even called herself 'the voice' in her answer (after hyping the song in the beginning of the interview).

And I’m one of the biggest critics here so there’s room for two of us.

 

This CWT brings almost nothing new... it’s all recycled with the exception of 3 songs and new cover songs, hell she even couldn’t get rid of the prince song after years. Oh let’s not forget about YTV.

 

What a jock. The fact that you seem so proud to be a critic and attribute notes to other members ability to be a good one or not tells a lot. Javito puts me in his pocket ? Obviously yes as you see he is still here being able to shut me down since I started to argue with him and report his behaviour which was not about criticising but the way he was doing it. And this kind of comments just show how childish you are.

 

Let's put it the other way. I certainly do not have the same tastes and expectations as the vast majority of fans here. I consider 70% of her english repertoire and recently unfortunatly of her french one too, as very mediocre, I despite most of her bubble pop tracks which makes me almost feel unconfortable, the production and sound being so weak and dated. I can't understand how she is even more devaluating her own repertoire whith her stupid covers. A new day was paintfull to watch and to hear for me. And I want to cry each time I read that she should go back to this kind of show. I was pleased to read the term intimate when she announced her new residency. I find most of her fans very conservative in every aspect (musically and fashion wise). So I tend to defend things I stand for. Recently I expressed my disgust toward what should be her new track with Diane Warren (musically and in term of pronounciation). I won't repeat myself. Just as an example. I could say a lot also about her musical choices and so many other things. I did it, once again, I won't repeat myself or overplay what I think.

 

Also, because english is not my first language I tend to simply not respond to every post cause I love to be specific and argue, sometimes I feel I can't. Or I concentrate on posivity. Also, because after being one of her biggest critic when the french forum was still alive (and when I was young enough to consider myself that way and be proud of that, come on), I have grown up, Im 35 now, I put some distances toward things that won't change. I just care less than when I was in my 20'.Because also it is paintfull for every one to read the exact same critic everywhere all the time. So I express my feelings differently, once and that's it.

 

Finally, yes, From 2016 she gave us way more signals in term of tracklist, live and interpretation than the past 20 years under René. I think it is a fact that can't be refuted. Does that make Courage world tour a good tracklist ? No, I never said that. So I will continue to defend that point as it is factually true.

 

I let you continue argueing in such a childish way that you are the biggest critic here. That just devaluate all your talk.

B.C. just announced their restart plan. Concerts can possibly resume in September depending on vaccinations and case counts. SO her show here is for sure not going through. Our Premier showed us this chart but refused to go into detail about concerts except that it's far away and will be part of the final step.

I really Cant see this Fall set of shows going forward at all if she has to they Organized the plan and start rehearsing , I know it takes alot of time to put on a show of this Caliber with sound and Visual's , She not going to have time to put this show together in time if she has her tour to finish , I just dont see it happening anytime soon, So I thinking they will most likely make a statement around July time frame

They put the first "Celine" residency together pretty quickly... so who knows!

I think if they postpone the upcoming Courage tour dates, it would have less to do with a lack of rehearsal time for the new Vegas show and more so to do with covid / ticket sales.

 

My hope is they postpone the Courage tour dates and focus on putting together the most spectacular, well-rehearsed Vegas show possible.

It should be ready to go and very polished by opening night. (Didn't the water feature for "Celine" not make its debut on opening night? I was there, but I can't remember.)

 

With that said, part of me still thinks some of the Courage dates will move forward in a few months. Which will be a lot of work for Celine and her team to go from relaunching the tour to rehearsing and launching a brand new residency.

Canadian dates is so far what I know:

 

The Winnipeg show no way the case count there is too high

Vancouver no way she won't let it till September. She said outdoor shows MAYBE a big big MAYBE in August but def not Celine's

Alberta no idea possible restart plan to be announced this week or next

Saskatoon only Steps 1 and 2 have been announced and that goes up to June 20th

I think the best we can hope for is that the US dates go forward on the assumption that there is an exclusivity clause in the RW contract forbidding any/all US concerts for the duration of the residency. Best case scenario that they can’t go forward for that reason would be postponement. Worst case would be cancellation. Hopefully RW is better than Caesars and will let her finish the NA Courage dates ASAP if she has to postpone.

I'd at least think because of everything that happened they would be ok with her finishing the Courage tour. Technically, if it wasn't for Covid, she would have been finished with the tour well before this show started. So I think whatever dates were already scheduled will go on. And RW is ok with it for that reason. Unless stuff keeps getting postponed because governments won't allow large gatherings....I think at a certain point, rather than postpone for a 5th time she'll just cancel.

 

 

That said, Luke also has an upcoming tour scheduled too. So maybe RW won't care about the in the long run when it comes to planning other tours.

Alberta is projecting early June/July return to lift all of their restrictions so I honestly don't know how this is going to work. Let's say she can do Saskatoon and Alberta but cannot do Vancouver and Manitoba(B.C. for sure she cannot) is she going to just cancel those shows and go on with the rest this is going to be tricky.

US dates will prob go ahead it's Canada which will be tricky as half the provinces will be open in time the other half won't. So idk is it worth it to postpone 3 dates (2 in Vancouver and one Winnipeg) or just cancel them and do the ones she can do? Vancouver wasn't selling well to begin with.

Yeah so they're basing it off of Saskatoon's rough re-opening plan. So far they have only announced step 1 and 2 which go up to June. None of those two steps include concerts but they seem to be going quite quickly so they may open in time. I was saying this yesterday she may end up in a situation where she can do two of her shows but three of them she won't under health guidelines. Last night on the news again it was re-iterated no shows till September. Apparently some artists are begging our PHO but so far she's not budging.

as for the tour , if any thing I could see her team announcing something around mid -aug if this will go on, with , Cause she would start the shows inn mid to late sept with the US dates ,, I sure hope they announce something sooner thought cause I still have AZ/ and DC Shows to attend still have to make flight and Hotel rev as well

She also has dates in Oregon and Washington state at the end of August. They’ll have to make a decision/announcement about those by mid to end July

A lot of sports are starting up and allowing 100% occupancy in the arena...some still require masks but they've been packed. I have a feeling if sports are allowed to do this, I don't see why concerts wouldn't be allowed to happen.
