True, but she still has to protect her Voice to where she not over using it to much ,

I was responding more to the question of shows being allowed to go on because of Covid, postponements, etc. I'm sure she and her team will make sure to preserve her voice. Plus she's been off for over a year at this point/by the time she's back on stage again....her voice would be well rested I'd think.

Just for fun, I decided to browse tickets for the rescheduled Oakland date. There are TONS of tickets still left. I have a feeling many of them will drop in price within in the next month or two. Depending how much they drop, I may wind up going. After all, if the tickets wind up being the price of dinner, why not go even if I wind up not liking the concert? LOL

Go, in the end it's still Celine, despite the setlist which could be better for us of course. Every one who describes himself as a fan will love the concert in person. We all know that

While I understand being disappointed by a setlist, in general, as a fan I don't understand this whole "boycott the show" (for lack of a better way to word that) because it's not what I/we wanted. She's always going to do certain songs because she can't not do them. But regardless of that: seeing her live, versus YouTube videos, is a whole experience. And even though you've heard it before, the live experience is just something special. If you're close enough she'll wave/wink/interact with you, etc. And that, to me, makes any show sooooo worth any amount of money (that said I'll never spend thousands though...I do have my limits lol).

 

There's also typically one or 2 surprises she throws in. For example: Tous Les Blues as part of the English setlist for this tour is pretty exciting as a fan because for years it's always been PQTME (which I love too but it was time for a change there lol). TLB was a Celine bucket list song I've been wanting to see live (yes I have a Celine bucket list hahaha) so that in and of itself made my ticket worth it.

Yeah! It’s really better if you were there in person and her voice in live sounds 5 times better than the sound we are hearing from fan cams.

 

Her voice sounds amazing even I got goosebumps when she sang the last part of IACBTMN (the repeating of words part and there is this one part where it really make you WOAH). Thank god i have the chance to hear her sing live for the first time back in 2018.

 

And I want to see her again LIVE.

 

And again, I was amazed in the lipped part because it doesn’t sound lipped in person. The sound of raw live voice transitioning to pre recorded vocals are so smooth. You wouldn’t know. But in fancams you ca easily hear the switching of live to pre recorded. It’s really better in live

Well, things are looking up! First full-capacity show playing at Madison Square Gardens in NYC on Jun 20th, so seems the US dates later this year are a go.

And as for Canada - we're approaching at 70% vaccination rate (though first dose only), but it's going ahead of schedule. Manitoba is the biggest problem spot, followed by Alberta and Saskatchewan, so those shows still looking a bit iffy. But things certainly looking better than they have for a while!

I wondered about this when I saw it. The article mentions that Live Nation is involved. Aren't they the company that Celine works with? If so, between that and the fact that Clive Davis is doing the concert, I'd say there's a very good chance Celine is one of the eight high-profile entertainers as long as it doesn't conflict with her tour.

Unfortunately, Celine works with AEG. LiveNation is the promoter who took over the Colosseum after AEG ended their deal to take the reigns on the new Resorts World theatre.

Jennifer Hudson, Diana Krall, Carlos Santana, Barry Manilow, Fantasia, Pharrell, Dionne Warwick, and maybeee Annie Lennox. Those are the types of people Clive likes to go with, and even then it will probably be younger/more R&B than the list I gave imho.

I think it has become more than a simple disappointment, for a lot of fans it has become really frustrating to be a fan. We all know that some songs are kinda mandatory for her to sing (MHWGO, IACBTMN, BYLM, TPOL, RDMH, BATB, LCMM) and most of us are fine with that but newer versions of these would be appreciated.

 

The problem is on the rest of the setlist :

 

1. the useless covers : You're the Voice (not a fan of the song but i can see why she sings it though), another Queen cover, Kiss (again), Let's dance (she brings nothing to the song), Lady Marmelade (Boring), Imagine (Sorry but i feel nothing when she sings it ; For me it is Robot Celine at its best). She has so many songs that she never performed live, so why not choosing these songs instead of the covers.

2. The same songs again and again and again : To Love You more (except in Japan this is not a huge hit), All by myself (nobody would blame her to not sing that song because it is very difficult), I'm Alive (overused)

3. sometimes it is a good choice such as That's the way it is but she lowered the song too much which makes the song quite unpleasant and boring to listen to.

4. The tour is called Courage World Tour though it has barely any songs from the album and quite frankly not the best songs ones.

 

Sometimes we have good surprises for example Tous Les Blues in her english setlist, The prayers solo version which is a joy to listen to or If You Ask Me To which is a good idea on paper (the live version of this song is quite disappointing for me but it is another problem).

 

If i didn't know Celine any better I would probably say that she didn't a f**k while preparing the tour but I don't believe that. So that setlist is either the show she wants to perform or the show she thinks her fans want. If it is the first option, it is ok, she's doing what she likes and what she wants so good for her but i simply just don't like the show. If it is the second option, i'm not surprise because she and her team never listen to us and always go for the generic and simple minded fans.

 

I saw her in Boston (december 2019) and i was supposed to see her in Paris (the francophone setlist is even worst than the english one) and London but i won't go (i sold my tickets) because i was disappointed by the show because it appears (this is only my opinion) as cheap and boring. Maybe i will like the next show in Vegas, i don't know, this show is just not for me.

YEEEEESSSSS!

 

A dance/remix medley would do wonders. I also loved her Plamondon medley from Une Seule Fois (Je danse dans ma tête, Des mots qui sonnent, Incognito) followed by LCMM and RDMH. The arrangements were so fresh and funky, and it’s one of her best medleys of all time IMHO.

 

Obviously it would be stale if she recycled that same set, but the formula worked great and they should consider it for her English songs, too.

I think he’d try for Andrea Bocelli, Bruce Springsteen will be doing a Broadway show this summer so maybe him. Billy Joel used to have a residency at Madison Square Garden. Lady Gaga is definitely a New York icon at this point. Will we interesting to see who gets announced!

Very few people are on Celine's legend level, but there are people below Celine who are still icons and could certainly draw a crowd.
