Yeah.... private jets are really horrible for our environment. They should tax it a lot more. Often times these company pledges and initiatives are just a fanfare and smoekscreen, and they use very questionable math and accounting.

This will definitely have an impact in regards to what can happen and when. My fear is enough people here in the states still think it's all a big government conspiracy 🙄 And they aren't getting vaccinated. I'm hoping that doesn't impact things on a bigger scale!

The New York Times has had several articles over the past few days saying that scientists now believe that herd immunity against Covid-19 is impossible. It's not just that there's a large section of people in the U.S. who refuse to be vaccinated. The first world countries are hoarding vaccine doses for themselves and poorer countries do not have access to any vaccine, causing only 1% of their population to be vaccinated. One of my best friends lives in Australia, a first world country, and she says the vaccination rollout has been so lousy that she doesn't expect to qualify and receive a vaccination until next year.

 

All of this has helped the virus mutate and change so many times that, like tuberculosis and HIV, Covid-19 is more than likely going to be a virus the world has to learn to live with. The more people become vaccinated, the less chances that they'll become so sick they need to be hospitalized and/or die from the virus. Scientists now hope that over the next one to two generations, the virus will be like it's cousin, the common cold, and won't be severe at all.

 

How will all of this affect concerts that have roughly 100,000 people indoors shouting and singing? No one knows at this point. We just have to be patient. Get vaccinated, if you can. Continue to wear your mask and carry hand-sanitizer with you for the time being. Broadway is planning on returning in mid-September. I believe the West End in London is returning at full capacity this summer. Both of those will be petri dish tests of how much this virus will continue to spread when people are packed in close together.

Not to mention some countries are refusing to lift the medical patents and supply raw materials so that other countries can produce the vaccines....smh.

Are you talking about the Courage World Tour dates that have been pushed back to 2023? If so, then no. The arenas and stadiums are booked years in advance between sports team and all the different artists who are on tour. Changing the date of a show that involves 100,000 attendees is not an easy task.

I am not saying to change the dates, but to add some more places(some new ones) to the tour for 2022 if COVID gets over by then. This might be her longest world tour.

Ah, doubtful. Remember, other artists are re-booking their tours as well and will have their dates already locked in for 2022. It's more than likely that there will be no new additional CWT dates announced. She will simply do the already planned dates with Vegas performances in-between.

I'd hope if that was the plan they would have made that announcement first and THEN the Vegas announcement. The fact they didn't gives me hope that the rescheduled North American leg is a go and those of us at the Pittsburgh show will be showing her off to Vegas in style. Fingers crossed!

I think it would be disrespectful to postphone the NA dates once again and then wanting those people who want to see her in their city as it was supposed to be, coming to vegas. 5,000 seat theatres will be fully allowed by September of this year (or around then anyway), however, a 10-15,000 seat arena probably won’t be by August, just going off of logic here. So there’s a chance they may be postponed for covid reasons, rather than Vegas promotional ones

Okay I see that. But I hope it will be allowed, all these postphnonements are quite nerve wracking and I wish all the peolpe who have tickets (including myself) that they can finally see this tour and Celine

Likely right? Since they are open everything step by step. I think in august and the coming months the shows will go ahead finally

I know that, in Canada, they're giving the Pfizer vaccine doses 4 months apart. They're not expecting life to return to normal any time soon. The U.S. is another story though. Those dates might happen but I'm still doubtful they'd allow gatherings of that size by September.

CTVNews just a couple of days ago confirmed that Trudeau has announced that they have enough vaccines and are ready to have all eligible citizens having a single dose “by summer” for a “single dose summer”, and in turn fully vaccinated “by September”... so they’ll probably just miss the mark, especially because the Canadian government are being *very* strict and cautious about COVID relaxation (rightfully so) and won’t allow full reopening of schools or places of work until they’ve reached 75% of the population having a single dose, and 20+% both doses

BC is saying a late summer/early fall return for in person attendance for things like hockey games and soccer games so I am guessing she will postpone. I did get in touch with Ticketmaster and for now they still have the show set to go through but we'll see if that changes. Personally I won't feel comfy going unless I am fully vaccinated but that is just me.

I'm so curious to find out whether or not she'll do the North American dates. I would think they'd postpone them all so she can focus on Vegas and then, once those 10 dates are done, they can go back to thinking about the tour. I'll die if the Vegas show is simply Courage World Tour in Vegas. It'll still be special being at her first night back after not performing for a year and a half but still...I expect a different show!
