Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

Do you think Celine even knows or thinks it’s an “anti-gun song”?

Also, I enjoy TP and TLB but all I was saying is they’ve been done. In terms of originality, and supporting the album of the same name... it’s a bust. No reason to sing AOBTD or Kiss before a new album track, from the same name as the tour.

Yes, I think Celine knows it's an anti-gun song. She's not an idiot. The lyrics are pretty clear. TLB was not done in the U.S. Pretty much the entire U.S. audience experienced that for the first time. Only the 5%of diehards who watch every single YouTube video would have experienced that and even then, not live. And The Prayer as a solo is, I think, what she was talking about in the video for the new Vegas show...a way to take an old song and present it in a new way. You may not like or approve of those choices. You may not approve of Lady Marmalade, Another One Bites The Dust, or Let's Dance. But they are HER artistic choices. And they are artistic choices. You can't argue that. Only that you didn't like them. And, in that case, it might be time to go find other artists you like more...who make artistic choices you're happier with.

To think she's not artistic enough is one thing, to imply she's an illiterate 'braindead' person is a whole other story. C'mon now.

And here it is.... the #ss kissing Celine fan who thinks she can’t do a thing wrong or you can’t criticize her or her choices without STILL being a fan. I’ve been a fan for almost 30 years, spent tons of money on her and her shows, I’m allowed to have my opinion of what’s artistic or not, and I don’t need you telling me to “go find another artist”, I’m waiting for your permission

I will stay here and continue to voice my opinions, when I think somethings great I voice it, when I don’t I ALSO voice it... if you want all butterflies and rainbows and #ss kissing... I believe you can exercise your right to use the block feature . :flowers:

Clearly I’m well aware she can read her lyrics....”brain dead” really who said this...?

What I mean is, maybe she thinks it’s an anti murder song not an “anti-gun” song, let’s not jump to conclusions on her position of things. She may just like the song, and wish to sing it, maybe it’s not political for her.

I used it as an exaggeration the way you used the 'even'.

But the lyrics have nothing to do with murder. Why would anyone think that? They are pretty straightforward imo

let's not jump to conclusions on her position of things

Exactly.

The above post suggest the song is “anti-gun”. I don’t believe people are “anti-gun” but rather anti what the gun does. All Going to say is maybe Celine sings the song because she likes it not for anything “political”, that’s what my sarcasm was about when I said, “do you think she knows or “THINKS”, it’s a song about being, Anti-gun?

I don’t think you accomplish all she has by being “stupid” or as you said “brain dead”, would appreciate if people didn’t do that.

Ok, but you said real fans wouldn’t like the CWT. I was disproving your theory. As well as the fact that it had all been done before.

I never said “real fans” wouldn’t like CWT. I appreciate that fans have different ideas of what they like. I was just stating my view on the show as “one” fan. I was trying to say, for me personally it was more of the same. I understand many love it and that’s great. Even I who attended a show from this tour did enjoy moments you spoke of... I enjoyed IYAMT, TLB, TP, TR ( I saw it early on before it was removed), I enjoyed before it was cut and Courage... I even thought “Imagine” was beautiful and I’ve seen Celine in concert many times, but never seen TTWII performed other than the Vegas show when it was in the acoustic set... and I enjoyed that a lot.

I just hope and I only speak for myself, that she looks for a new recipe for her upcoming Vegas show. I would enjoy the hits mixed with something new.

Man she sings the song because she likes it but at the same time she knows what the meaning of the song is. I don't see the issue with that. And the way you phrased it, it was as if she doesn't comprehend the lyrics of the song, which are pretty basic. Anyway, case closed.

And yes, you can't accomplish what she has by being an idiot who can't grasp even basic stuff, with that i agree.

Then ultimately we agree. I certainly want something different for the Vegas show. I mean, it’s Vegas - so it’ll be the hits and cover songs that the masses will know. I’m hoping it’s in the presentation, the visuals, the use of the stage where she’ll present something new. There won’t be deep cuts or many songs from Courage (ultimately, the album isn’t well know) but she knows it’s her 3rd Vegas show and the stakes are high. She’s got to bring her best self.

Ultimately, it’ll mostly be the same though. She’s a legacy artist. She’ll sing her big hits and cover songs where her voice can shine. Any expectation higher than that will probably just bring disappointment.

Her medley song choices for the Courage tour are literally one of the things I was most excited to hear and experience live! Hopefully my September date is able to go on as planned. They are her artistic choices, and it shows when she's performing such songs live. You can truly feel and see her loving these moments.

I totally understand what you’re saying in this regard, however if she’s going to sing the hits I would rather she seeing all of the hits instead of tributes to artists personally. A new day has come, I drove all night, ashes ALL in addition to the hits that are courage should be in the show.

What I find really frustrating is when she opts to sing songs like LCMM/RDMH ....Which aren’t really considered hits but then neglects songs that were considered hits.

With the exception of one time on the taking chances tour... She hasn’t sung a new day has come the radio remix since 2003?

I’m not against all covers, I just wish she’d make them more rare, and they could shine more.

When I think “moments” in her career that I consider amazing, might be hard to believe, but her Grammys Nomination performance of “At Seventeen” with the stool was just amazing. It’s a song that I don’t even really like but she took that song and made it so personal and it was stunning to hear the vulnerability in her voice. However that should’ve been the end of it. It was an amazing moment, but didn’t need to be repeated. She then added into her Vegas show and then the Asian tour and then back in Vegas by the shows Ending run.

Somewhere in all of that, that original feeling from that first performance is now gone, there is such thing as overkill. She can’t get away from it from the hits, but with other songs she can.

“Cant Help Falling In Love”, was great in the 90s... showstopper.. but it also lost its spark and power.

However, the exceptions in my opinion of a cover song that didn’t get old live maybe because it was lipped was TSMGO.

I want to hear Céline sing TSMGO live again. I want to hear it in person because when she did a show here in our country which was part of the aisan summer tour back in 2018. The song was not part of the show. I think they did an amazing job with the arrangement of the song.

This is a CelineDion forum not a John Farnham's.

.so please enough with You're The Voice.

If you don't like it, just don't.

And if you do, then don't brag about it in front of everyone.

Considering Celine had no idea what “Skies Of L.A.” was about, and had no problem grabbing her crotch while humping the air while singing about a murderous, domestic violence situation, I don’t think it was all that farfetched for one to wonder if she has a clue what “You’re The Voice” is about.

Which song? YTV?

Celine is a brilliant singer, but we all know with English being her “second” language... as expected sometimes words and phrasing is missed by her. I speak more than one and that happens to me as well.

I clearly remember in the “Map To My Heart” session, she stopped the session, to ask the producer and engineer what the “strung”... of “you strung those strings” meant. She will sometimes record a song where she doesn’t fully understand each and every lyric.

THAT IS NOT A BASH, that is normal for second language.

Celine (which I love about her) is not scared to even stop a English question in an interview to ask for clarification... Remember when she asked what “Binged” meant?

yes

I believe the song is about “change” and being the “ voice” after Disastrous shootings. In my opinion the lyrics are basic but the exact meaning can be Interpreted in different ways.

She does care a lot when it comes to choose the songs for her albums and you can know that just

by reading the texts on Courage and so many others.

I enjoy reading the entire lyrics though not always it will be easy to understand.

I love it when I come to fully understand what the lyrics mean, it will take lots of work.

"Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City Hall

Needed where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

YTV is a famous Australian anti-gun anthem. My Australian friend says it’s the song they play at the end of the night when the bar is closing and everyone sings along. Australia is a VERY anti-gun society.

I love when she mixes up language. It's adorable, human, and it shows her bilinguality.

My favourite will always be how she at the MET said how she thought "We're going camping?!"

Many people said that, actually (or something along those lines at any rate). She just ended up in the most sound clips about it.

Then Celine is the only one to get a pass because I think for her it was truly lost in translation lol.

Oh My Dion 😁 For her, Skies of L.A. is about palms (and not pollution). OK everyone can interpret a song differently.

And she didn't remember the song I remember L.A..

“Maybe, but the call to action may be lost on some. Dion describes the song as “a little jewel,” but it’s clear that even after recording it, she was captured by its melody, not its message. “I didn’t know that it was about environmental things, to be honest. It made me think of palm trees,” she said. “And that’s OK -- songs mean different things to people.”

Maybe “You’re The Voice” isn’t about guns for Celine... :hmm: nobody will know unless she’s asked.
