PQTME is my all time Celine favorite. I cried listening to it live in Berlin 2017, in no way should she change it for any other French song (although there are many I love).

Bullshit, 90% of the people attending each concert in the USA wouldn’t know the difference between PQTME or any other song from

her French material...so I beg to differ that she could literally perform any song she wanted and it wouldn’t matter because the majority wouldn’t even understand it. Hence that jazz boring French song she did in Vegas instead of PQTME. However, more French speakers were in Vegas from abroad than will most likely travel to say Chicago to see Celine on a world tour that will most likely stop in their home country or closer than USA to their country if not so their own.

I simply can't stand J'Irais ou Tu Iras - that must be the most horrible song she's ever recorded, together with THLAL. Isn't everything JJG touches gonna be turned to gold? Or so the theory goes at least.

Well, from my point of view, JTC it's a weird song (at least in that keyboards bridge... It's like a strange atmosphere) from SSDA album. Papillon and EASP are so underrated and lovely songs!

I could almost care less what the setlist is. I just hope for a section of the show that rotates songs. I've posted this before. Nothing too crazy, not asking for different songs every night. Just allow for a 2-3 song segment to rotate amongst 8-10 songs total. With all they're rehearsing this is very doable. Some of us are going to multiple shows. I imagine after about four shows with the right luck I'd be able to hear all the rotated songs. If she performs a second French song in english areas this is already halfway doable.

 

And honestly this reason is a big one in why i decided to spontaneously go to quebec. Figure my best shot at other songs is going to quebec. Superfans want more songs. Lol.

For those of you staying downtown at the Marriott or Place Royale hotel, it leaves from Place d'Youville which is just a minute's walk from your hotel.

 

I saw that the bus leaves a block from my AirBnB, Stop 1138 - Crown / St. Helena. Does that mean it departs from that stop at 6:25pm? It looks to be the third stop/last stop before the Centre Videotron if I'm reading it right. Also is there Uber in QC? I'm going to the show with 3 friends, so it's probably really cheap to just Uber, unless it doesn't exist there, or if the shuttle bus is free. lol

I don't expect a total translation of every article, but people can at least say what it is that they are reacting to and post the core of that.

 

Sure we can use google translate. But in this day an age I think our lives go by pretty fast and we have a lot to do so to expect that we go an translate every article someone post here is just... - seriously?

 

On the contrary - you expect someone who does the board a favor by posting news to summarize and translate every piece... seriously?

 

If you can't be bothered to click the Translate button (one click) or cut & paste (2 keystrokes), then how can you possibly expect someone else to do it for you?

 

People have lives and commitments and can't drop everything to at all times of the day to summarize every piece of news they happen to find. And news, by definition, is time sensitive. I'd like to think people are grateful when it's posted. I certainly am.

 

If you care enough, the onus is on you. If not, skip. It's simple. You can't expect others to constantly do the work for you. That's completely inconsiderate.

 

If I would go and post articles here in let's say Swedish and would do so by only posting "wow!, "Oooh!", "Who knew!", "Wonderful!", "Hum that's intersting.." (or as some not say anything at all and just post a link) and after that expect you all to go and google translate it..

 

If you find news in Swedish, I would absolutely want you to post it and be thankful for you doing so.

If I'm interested, there are no shortage of basic tools for me to figure it out.

Not at all. What I do find rude is the expectation that every news piece be translated or summarized as if it's somehow owed.

 

Some may have time on their hands to go through ticket sales, follow her plane as it travels and apparently google translate articles about her...

But I work 100-hour weeks and just because I happen to find a news article while in an elevator en route to a meeting, doesn't mean I have the time right there and then to type up a summary or a translation.

If you're interested, a translation is literally one click away. If not, skip it.

To me "Unison" and "Celine Dion" era songs are the bees knees.

 

My issue with the "Celine Dion" album is the nauseating Kenny G / Dave Koz-style production and arrangements, which is just such a turnoff.

It's too bad, because the songs themselves are actually better than on many of her other English albums. And she sounds great.

 

I have a feeling With This Tear might appear on this coming tour - maybe not in its entirety but in a medley. It is a Prince song, after all, and it never really had its time to shine. I think Scott could do something interesting with it.

She said she “prefers the real thing” when asked if she used a tanning bed. I believe it was in a L’Oreal Paris promotional interview.
