CelinesDIVO5 Posted September 13, 2019 at 07:53 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 07:53 PM Wish you weren't going to Tampa next week! <3 It would be so fun to go to Quebec!!! I’m excited about meeting our new niece though. I’ll see Céline in Miami and NYC. I’ll get my fix! <3 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:30 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:30 PM (edited) I'm not sure I was clear enough since you go on stating that it's unrealistic of me to demand a translation of "every piece" - when in fact I said I DIDN'T expect that. (But at least post SOMETHING about what the "ooh!" or "aah!!" reaction is for. I.e. "Céline said this: bla bla - ooh! aaah!") I can go on but I don't want to waste both of our times making this a duell. You don't seem to get my point. And that's fine. I think I tried to make it clear, but if you don't get it or don't want to get it I won't force it on you. And yea by "you" I mean... you. And Another complainer about complainers….. isn't that infact also complaining? On the contrary - you expect someone who does the board a favor by posting news to summarize and translate every piece... seriously? If you can't be bothered to click the Translate button (one click) or cut & paste (2 keystrokes), then how can you possibly expect someone else to do it for you? People have lives and commitments and can't drop everything to at all times of the day to summarize every piece of news they happen to find. And news, by definition, is time sensitive. I'd like to think people are grateful when it's posted. I certainly am. If you care enough, the onus is on you. If not, skip. It's simple. You can't expect others to constantly do the work for you. That's completely inconsiderate. If you find news in Swedish, I would absolutely want you to post it and be thankful for you doing so.If I'm interested, there are no shortage of basic tools for me to figure it out. Not at all. What I do find rude is the expectation that every news piece be translated or summarized as if it's somehow owed. Exactly. Some may have the time on their hands to sit here and complain all day.But I work 100-hour weeks and just because I happen to find a news article while in an elevator en route to a meeting, doesn't mean I have the time right there and then to type up a summary or a translation. If you're interested, a translation is literally one click away. If not, skip it.Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. And to be clear, when I say "you" above, I don't mean you, specifically. It's a general note. fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:35 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:35 PM The bridge in JTC is to me a bit eerie…. but I like the song anyway. To me it's really beautiful! Well, from my point of view, JTC it's a weird song (at least in that keyboards bridge... It's like a strange atmosphere) from SSDA album. Papillon and EASP are so underrated and lovely songs! 1 Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:41 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:41 PM That's a nice song. Old school Céline power ballad. To me it's TYLAM part two.... so it didn't add that much to her discography. And it sadly for the most part a transportation rute for some power note porn. But I wouldn't say no to it live, but hopefully some changes in arrangements to add something more to it. Perhaps do even it being done acoustic would be nice. I would love to hear the greatest reward live 1 Quote Peace and love to all.

fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:50 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:50 PM Quand On S'Aime is indeed a very great and fun jazz performance of hers (thinking about the 2003 recording). Such a gem! Had forgotten it. Thank you for reminding me. (In all seriousness though, I'm not being contrarian. That legitimately was the coolest part of the setlist in my books. In fact, would be cool if she brought back the entire Michel Legrand medley she use to do in 1985! Quand On S'aime / Brûle Pas Tes Doigts / La Valse Du Lilas / Quand Ça Balance / Les Moulins De Mon Coeur) Quote Peace and love to all.

fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:58 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:58 PM I do believe it's her most cohesive album sound wise when it comes to her ENG career. I get the feeling they actually took the time and prioritised production with this album. That said I don't think it's great today, but at the time it probably was. To me it's too heavy of synths and drum echoes, but that's my taste. I love the production on the self titled album. This album may actually be her most cohesive as well. Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:59 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 08:59 PM I got the hopes up for us seeing what lights could do to this otherwise quite dull stage. It's a photo of one of the screens inside the venue! Quote Peace and love to all.

You’re also looking at a photo taken of a computer screen with text across it, of a stage with just a blue light. It’s not of the utmost quality. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:04 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:04 PM Would be lovely!! But the Balladians would moan over the absence of power notes. Thinking about it RNTTRO is the song in her ENG reportoir that is closest to her French material..... Doesn't it feel a bit "French Céline"? So if it had French lyrics all fans would go "ooh! aaah! Wow! A masterpiece!". I also love RNTTRO and I think it could work very well on stage ,in an acoustic medley for example or in it's main version 2 Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:07 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:07 PM Sigh... I wasn't saying the stage will suck from now on and ever more. I was just saying I was interested in what it looked with lights (hopefully it looks great since it doesn't without light - and we've seen other pics of it Before, better quality, no text over, and that's what I was also reffering to.) You're also looking at a photo taken of a computer screen with text across it, of a stage with just a blue light. It's not of the utmost quality. Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:17 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:17 PM Shadow of Love actually deserves another chance on the live stage. The TC tour version was....ehm.... what was it.... not sure it was horrible.... perhaps too genious for me to get?.... nevertheless I saw no reason for them to make totally new arrangements and a new angle to a just recorded song when that is so very well overdue for all of her old songs she has performed the same way since for ever. The TC tour gave us "new arrangements" but mainly for "new songs" (IA, SOL) - the irony! Imagine if she did Shadow of Love with that loud heartbeat vibrating through the speakers and into the crowd...that would be awesome! Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:26 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:26 PM Complaining about complaing is magically somehow not complaining. And attacking members who don't praise every particle in the universe of Céline Dion isn't somehow negative but…. an "act of love"? You've been complaining about the same thing for years, too. So, you're actually doing the very same thing you ridicule. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones. Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:44 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:44 PM "Seinfield remix"?? I would love that one but I'm too used to hearing this remix. https://youtu.be/aMezSBNuaeQ It'd be interesting to hear how Scott would update the arrangement for this song. Quote Peace and love to all.
fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:48 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 09:48 PM I think this could be her best tour ever!!! (However it could also be an echo of empty promises, so we shouldn't get our hopes up too much) What a personally would LOVE to hear is Contre Nature. I absolutely adore that song. Je lui durai as well. English wise - I think the most likely would contenders would be IYAMT as part of a medley, SLS - midtempo and not difficult to sing, I’d love WFTM and TYLAM. If they’re going to do some medleys, we might gets little snippets (one verse/chorus) of several of her back catalogue. This tour sounds like it’s shaping it to me quite an interesting one! 1 Quote Peace and love to all.

fred Posted September 13, 2019 at 10:40 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 10:40 PM She has gone through her entire reportoir in search of "new" songs to sing? New arrangements and new takes on old songs? New medleys? Superb visuals (hopefully, since the stage doesn't really speak for itself). Or was this all "added in translation", from all those French articles? Why do you think that? Any info I missed about the tour? 1 Quote Peace and love to all.

maki_Dion-er Posted September 13, 2019 at 11:07 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 11:07 PM Why doesn’t everyone just get along? This is called a FORUM. In a forum people post their views, popular, not popular, doesn’t matter; each and everyone is entitled to their view. If people get tired of others opinions/ “complaining then ignore them or their post; don’t engage in topics with those people and start a different conversation that you are more comfortable with. If people wanna complain about setlists, album delays, all of the stuff that is actually valid then let them! Otherwise, this forum would just consist of people taking about the “Titanic Song” or if Pepe and Celine are lovers at least since awhile people are speaking about music, being about the tour or album. I agree somewhat. You can enter into a discussion about what's being done right or wrong, what you like or don't like as long as it stays civil. If you don't like a talking point that's being discussed then just skip it. Debating with someone by being arrogant, or acting as if someone's positive point of view (or negative one) makes them an idiot, calling people names, or generally expressing yourself towards someone else in a passive/aggressive/defensive way is not something that should happen. We're all here because we love Celine, we're fans, so we shouldn't act in such a divided manner. But, I have to say that the reason more people are complaining about the complainers is because it's gotten out of hand. People here sometimes overreact based on so little, a photograph of a stage not fully lit, Celine daring to enjoy fashion, etc. Then there's the way some express their opinions and criticism which are too heavy handed and just unpleasant to read. It's very tiresome and it's easy to just say "if you don't like it then just leave" but people are here because we want to interact with other Celine fans, and this is one of the very few spaces where we can have long form conversations. If everyone just left cause they don't like the way things are then what would be left of this forum? People constantly criticizing insignificant things like why Celine continues to wear a bun, or why they don't release every last detail of the tour? Sometimes it feels like people are just looking for something to complain about, no matter how small. One can only take so much of a glass half empty point of view. 5 Quote

But then the people who complain about these and other things, do so incessantly, verbatim, ad nauseam in every single topic. How much harder do they have to hit everyone in their heads with the same hammer? We get that you’re upset about these things. Once , twice, maybe three times...but eleventy gazillion times with the same posts, same complaints, over and over and over again...not only is it unbelievably annoying, but it also goes against the spam rules of this forum. And the mods/admins really have to do a better job at handling it. I can guarantee that the lackluster moderation of this forum is why people are hesitant to donate to keep it running. I’ve thought many times about donating, but then I think of all of the above and I think “why?” If the forum shuts down, it will be because of all of these things put together: People complainingPeople fightingPeople spammingLack of moderation And lack of donations. One can only take so much of a glass half empty point of view. But that is the thing- these things are significant: the stage - because she hyped it so much - yet it does not reflect - the fashion - because it is fashion here and everywhere, the passion for fashion and the nonsense talk and where is the passion for music - what inspired you to do this tour, this album this song? And now another example - there is a courage tour coming, yet only fomo was given to us but the rest? Yet the tour is named to the album.. But we have not seen anything yet. And then her latest tweet.. After courage tour we will... And then showing a Nunununu advertisement.... Even then with almost no promo the attention has to go to the nununu clothing line. I see in the comments people responding - enough where s the new music? So yes there is disappointment for sure and that is why many fans express their disappointment in this forum. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G965F met Tapatalk Over and over and over again. The same complaints. Hundreds of times. From the same people. And this is all they talk about. Complaining about a woman enjoying herself. Would you All rather we didn’t hear or see anything about her? She’s a public figure. Even if she didn’t intend on being photographed coming out of her hotel in haute couture, she would be anyway. Paparazzi would sell the photos and tabloids would have a negative field day. Instead, she’s smart and plays into it. Not only does it limit the bad things media could say about her, but it keeps her name in people’s mouths. It keeps her visible. Getting upset about things like a stage that we have no idea of it’s capabilities is trivial. I can’t imagine how much energy it takes out of people to complain about these things...and then it dumbs down their enjoyment for when they actually go and see her. It’s very sad. 7 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
