I want crowd pleasers that we’d be thrilled with as well. Resurrecting If You Asked Me To makes a ton of sense. If the crowds don’t respond well, the songs will be cut so fast our heads will spin! So they might as well steer clear of crazy obscure songs. (For that, Celine should do an anti tour or a One Night Only that’s filmed — where she only sings obscure songs).

 

Songs that the general public might even be familiar with:

Water From The Moon, Nothing Broken But My Heart & Did You Give Enough Love all seem like strong contenders.

 

Declaration of Love would be a delight! I would also love Then You Look At Me but I’m not sure that one would be so much a crowd pleaser as it would satisfy our deep rooted desire as diehard fans to hear that song live.

 

Add “Misled,” “Have You Ever Been In Love,” and “You And I” to the list, too. All three had impact of some sort in The States.

Maybe in the US but I really doubt she would perform “If That’s What It Takes” or “I Don’t Know” in Québec. People would think she has forgotten her French-Canadian roots.

 

One song I think has a high probability of being performed is “Ma force”. It is very fitting at the moment and also quite modern.

Right?! I just rewatched it for the first time in probably a decade yesterday afternoon. It was as fantastic of a concert as I remembered it being. One of the most amazing nights of my life!

I don't expect a total translation of every article, but people can at least say what it is that they are reacting to and post the core of that.

 

Sure we can use google translate. But in this day an age I think our lives go by pretty fast and we have a lot to do so to expect that we go an translate every article someone post here is just... - seriously?

 

If I would go and post articles here in let's say Swedish and would do so by only posting "wow!, "Oooh!", "Who knew!", "Wonderful!", "Hum that's intersting.." (or as some not say anything at all and just post a link) and after that expect you all to go and google translate it..

 

Wouldn't that just be a bit rude and asking too much?

 

Some may have time on their hands to go through ticket sales, follow her plane as it travels and apparently google translate articles about her...

From everything I read, the "Stand By Your Side" rumor turned out to be nothing more than a hoax. It's a shame. The song is gorgeous.

Interesting about the medley of the biggedt hits! Hope there will be a PROPER medley and that they don't go back to the AND "medley" where each so called segment was almost an entire song with the only difference there weren't time to applaud inbetween them.

 

Überexited about the old songs resurfacing. Hope there will be something more exiting than IYAMT. No offense, nice song, but dated sound and she sang it A LOT in the 90ies. Would rather have more rare ones like WFTM or even more daring never sung before gems like No Living Without Loving You, Reveal, In His Touch, Sorry For Love, Just Walk Away, If That's What It Takes, Miles To Go, Us and so on and so on.... one can dream right?

 

Glad SSDA appeared among mentioning ENG tracks. Hopefully that will replace PQTME in the ENG setlist. It has a beautiful melody and speaks to you in a hauntingly beautiful way even though you don't know much French - just like À La Plus Haute Branche (but see no chances at all of that appearing in an ENG setlist though).

Of course they do. Imagine sitting through 40 songs! 😂 Even though I love listening to her I would be too "full" and it would be too much of the good stuff. Unless there are like a whole bunch of medleys!! 😂😂

 

I almost think when they are talking about 40 songs they mean all the songs included in both the English and French shows.

I first found the lyrics both too banal and without logic. But I have grown to appreciate it. And the melody is so haunting. I love having Céline in a proper orchestral setting (her "orchestra" concerts of late was quite dissatisfying though). Too bad Céline's version isn't on Spotify! 😯

 

Why wasn't this on the Essential album(s)? Wasn't it recorded by then.

 

My favourite song is I Knew I Loved You it would be a dream to hear that live if im not mistaken she hasn’t performed it live since the Oscars in 2007

Plus wasn't LIAWN in one of her commercials for Chrysler? So in a sense it's almost a single by her teams standards.... even a small hit, who knows 😂

 

 

 

 

 

To be fair, “Love Is All We Need” had been rehearsed for “A New Day...” years ago. So, she had some memory of singing it live. So, it wasn’t that crazy that she eventually brought it on tour. “Reveal,” on the hand, has never been performed live, nor reheased. At least not to my knowledge. I’d love to see it brought to life onstage, though!

If there is one French song for an English concert, it will always be PQTME. At least in the US. “The French Album” was specifically marketed for non Francophone countries, and promoted nicely in the US with PQTME being performed. It’s the most well known French song of her catalogue to her non French speaking fans. It’s a given that it will always be the French song in any English concert.

Well I love it, plus it could work an intimate part of the show.
