scielle Posted September 13, 2019 at 11:51 PM Posted September 13, 2019 at 11:51 PM I'm not sure I was clear enough since you go on stating that it's unrealistic of me to demand a translation of "every piece" - when in fact I said I DIDN'T expect that. (But at least post SOMETHING about what the "ooh!" or "aah!!" reaction is for. I.e. "Céline said this: bla bla - ooh! aaah!") I can go on but I don't want to waste both of our times making this a duell. You don't seem to get my point. And that's fine. I think I tried to make it clear, but if you don't get it or don't want to get it I won't force it on you. And yea by "you" I mean... you. And Another complainer about complainers….. isn't that infact also complaining? Not looking to pick a fight, but I simply vehemently disagree for all the reasons already stated above. So yes, I will continue to post news as I find it - in whatever language - and hope others continue to do the same, as I very much appreciate when they do. Those who care enough can easily find a way to figure it out; those who don't are welcome to move on. Please understand that it isn't always feasible to drop everything and summarize / translate if you're trying to get info across in a timely manner; it's not anyone's obligation to do so. And if you find info in Swedish, I for one would certainly very much appreciate seeing it. 1 Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:01 AM Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:01 AM But that is the thing- these things are significant: the stage - because she hyped it so much - yet it does not reflect - the fashion - because it is fashion here and everywhere, the passion for fashion and the nonsense talk and where is the passion for music - what inspired you to do this tour, this album this song? And now another example - there is a courage tour coming, yet only fomo was given to us but the rest? Yet the tour is named to the album.. But we have not seen anything yet. And then her latest tweet.. After courage tour we will... And then showing a Nunununu advertisement.... Even then with almost no promo the attention has to go to the nununu clothing line. I see in the comments people responding - enough where s the new music? So yes there is disappointment for sure and that is why many fans express their disappointment in this forum. Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G965F met Tapatalk Has she ever spoken about the stage specifically? I think she's only ever said she was trying to create a beautiful show and that this tour would be different from Vegas. Like I said, we have only seen the stage under pretty basic lighting but we know by comments from the stage designer, Scott, and Elise that there's much more like advanced visuals and moving parts of the stage. In addition, she'll be dancing, she's been going through her repertoire and choosing songs she hasn't sung in a while, etc. So, yes, people are jumping ahead on things in terms of stage imo. Where is the passion for music? "I'm loving what I do, everything, much more than ever before", she has also talked about taking control of her career even though she technically doesn't need to continue. In other words if she's performing and making new music it's because she loves what she does and wants to continue doing it. Scott has said that she is in a very creative mode, coming up with new ideas for the show almost daily. That to me says she is highly invested in her show. She has said she thinks up song lyrics, so even if she isn't writing music it's something that is always on her mind. "When you start listening to your own song you know something's wrong" Her passion is there you just have to open your eyes and ears to it and not focus on the fact that she is also having fun with fashion. Yes, she's done several photo shoots but because it's being offered to her and people clearly have an interest in that side of her, but she has also done plenty of music related things this year (the biggest being the tour that's about to start). Also, notice that when she talks about fashion she usually mentions among the reason why she loves it that it helps her in her performances on stage. The Celinununu tweet was about the tour more so than the clothing. It featured her fake tour shirts but the comment was literally about Courage World tour and jokes about a future interplanetary tour. That's tour promotion AND promo for her clothing line. Those tweets, as so many comments here tend to zero in on what they don't like and don't see the bigger picture imo. Single releases and why the tour starts before the album has been discussed a lot so I won't even touch on that. 2 Quote
Popular Post scielle Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:03 AM Popular Post Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:03 AM Over and over and over again. The same complaints. Hundreds of times. From the same people. And this is all they talk about. Complaining about a woman enjoying herself. Would you All rather we didn't hear or see anything about her? She's a public figure. Even if she didn't intend on being photographed coming out of her hotel in haute couture, she would be anyway. Paparazzi would sell the photos and tabloids would have a negative field day. Instead, she's smart and plays into it. Not only does it limit the bad things media could say about her, but it keeps her name in people's mouths. It keeps her visible. Getting upset about things like a stage that we have no idea of it's capabilities is trivial. I can't imagine how much energy it takes out of people to complain about these things...and then it dumbs down their enjoyment for when they actually go and see her. It's very sad. What she has accomplished in the last few years - largely through her fashion endeavours as a catalyst - has been truly impressive. It really astounds me that people find it problematic. Do I care for all she wears? Certainly not. But that's not the point. She's taking risks, she's doing something that brings her joy, and she has used it brilliantly. I simply don't understand how people can possibly find so much fault with it (bun, eyebrows, weight... on and on...) Most artists would kill for this kind of uber successful image revamp. And the fact that she accomplished it on her own - without the guidance of Rene - is doubly impressive. 10 Quote

fred Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:57 AM Posted September 14, 2019 at 12:57 AM I have nothing against her finding joy in fashion. On the contrary. I am happy for her now at 51 becoming this fashion icon. Who could have predicted. I am proud of her. I love seeing her evolve, and being recognized for doing so. But I am frustrated that she never tend to evolve music wise. I would be extremely happy if she took risks and experimented a lot even in that field. The stagnation there actually gets me both worried and sad - coz time is moving, and ain't coming back. Using her incredible vocals on material she's been applying it to for the last 25 years is to me a huge waste of that wonderful gift and talent. I don't see fashion as a threat to her musical side…. I see her current mindset towards music as a threat to her musical side. If she doesn't find music fun anymore I Think it's sad for her to keep on doing the extreme amount of shows she somehow feels obliged to do. And these themes I will continue to discuss as long as I am involved in this forum. Coz these things are fun to discuss for me. Sorry you "complainers about complainers" and "attackers" and so called "defenders", you have to deal with it. Eyebrows, hairdos, make up, tracking plane rides, appreciating RC..... not my cup of tea hence I wont dedicate so much energy in those topics. What she has accomplished in the last few years - largely through her fashion endeavours as a catalyst - has been truly impressive. québecflower Posted September 14, 2019 at 02:10 AM Posted September 14, 2019 at 02:10 AM I agree somewhat. You can enter into a discussion about what's being done right or wrong, what you like or don't like as long as it stays civil. If you don't like a talking point that's being discussed then just skip it. Debating with someone by being arrogant, or acting as if someone's positive point of view (or negative one) makes them an idiot, calling people names, or generally expressing yourself towards someone else in a passive/aggressive/defensive way is not something that should happen. We're all here because we love Celine, we're fans, so we shouldn't act in such a divided manner. But, I have to say that the reason more people are complaining about the complainers is because it's gotten out of hand. People here sometimes overreact based on so little, a photograph of a stage not fully lit, Celine daring to enjoy fashion, etc. Then there's the way some express their opinions and criticism which are too heavy handed and just unpleasant to read. It's very tiresome and it's easy to just say "if you don't like it then just leave" but people are here because we want to interact with other Celine fans, and this is one of the very few spaces where we can have long form conversations. If everyone just left cause they don't like the way things are then what would be left of this forum? People constantly criticizing insignificant things like why Celine continues to wear a bun, or why they don't release every last detail of the tour? Sometimes it feels like people are just looking for something to complain about, no matter how small. One can only take so much of a glass half empty point of view.if people can complain ad nauseum against Celine, Why can't we do the same about those people ? i don't do it , but my ignore list is growing. A thing i would have never done before. But now, it is just too much. 6 Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

Céline RO Posted September 14, 2019 at 10:08 AM Posted September 14, 2019 at 10:08 AM I do believe it's her most cohesive album sound wise when it comes to her ENG career. I get the feeling they actually took the time and prioritised production with this album. That said I don't think it's great today, but at the time it probably was. To me it's too heavy of synths and drum echoes, but that's my taste. They probably spent more time on it because “Unison” wasn’t a huge success so they wanted to do better with the self-titles album. 1 Quote The best is yet to come...
Céline RO Posted September 14, 2019 at 10:10 AM Posted September 14, 2019 at 10:10 AM Would be lovely!! But the Balladians would moan over the absence of power notes. Thinking about it RNTTRO is the song in her ENG reportoir that is closest to her French material..... Doesn't it feel a bit "French Céline"? So if it had French lyrics all fans would go "ooh! aaah! Wow! A masterpiece!". It sounds like something straight out of Sans Attendre but in English. 1 Quote The best is yet to come...

You are likely to remain disappointed and unfulfilled I fear. Accept it how it is now because this is it. And she still ‘works’ incredibly hard. That Radio 2 interview was recorded in July when everyone here was bitching that she wasn’t promoting/doing anything. Everyone is entitled to opinions and to say they wish she did this or that or didn’t do this or that. But the incessant moaning and whinging said the joy out of the excitement of the imminent start of hopefully a great chapter for Céline. She literally would give up if she heard the stinking attitude from many people here. 6 Quote
