Céline RO Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:39 AM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:39 AM (edited) Excluding “the requireds” and formerly performed songs, what are some songs (that appear on her albums) you flat out DON’T want in the upcoming setlist? Here are five of mine: 1) With This Tear2) I Hate You Then I Love You3) Right Next To The Right One4) Tu nages5) Tu sauras What !!! “Tu sauras”, “Tu nages” and “With This Tear” are songs I desperately want Céline to sing!! I think this proves the fact that no matter how “good” Céline’s setlist would be, it could never please everyone. These are mine: 1. “Recovering”2. “Love of My Life”3. “Ne bouge pas”4. “Skies of L.A.”5. “À la plus haute branche”6. “Plus qu’ailleurs”7. “La memoire d’Abraham”8. “Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset”9. “Berceuse”10. “Rain, Tax (It’s Inevitable)”11. “Super Love”12. “Did you give enough love”13. “Overjoyed”14. “Le miracle”15. “Kiss/Purple Rain” I wouldn’t really HATE any of those because I love pretty much all of Céline’s songs but I think the scarce places in the setlist should be kept for better songs. Del Posted September 15, 2019 at 03:52 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 03:52 PM (edited) 5 days before I get to see Céline and the excitement is starting. My poor neighbours for the next few days. It's going to be Céline being played ALL the time. If anyone wants to follow me on Instagram my handle is @delphis78. I won't be posting during the show as I want to enjoy every moment but will be sharing clips and photos. scielle Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:18 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:18 PM (edited) I have no clue why to make a big deal when one member here might be asking to have a brief summary here and thereregarding the French articles about Celine. Either I don't like it, when some members here will write "go and findout what the article says". One don't want to help? great, then ignore and move on. In other artist's forum (Not of Celine of course ) I see members asking to know what a certain article says, which was written in a foreign language, then people from their own willing, who understands the certain foreign languagewill come and share what it says and no one is making a big deal of it. But the nicest thing of all that I saw, again, not on this forum was when a memeber wanted to get a lovely post he wroteabout his artist, to have it translated into a foreign language - memebers went and offered their help. Once again, it's not about willingness, it's about feasibility. Some of us work 100 weeks and can't drop everything in our lives to summarize and translate news and when we find it. If you have the time in your life to summarize every breaking news piece about Celine from Hebrew, consider yourself lucky. Some of us don't have that luxury. To assume we can all do that is deeply inconsiderate, to say the least. To demand it, as if it's somehow owed, even more so.And to be greeted with hate instead of appreciation for posting news is, frankly, demoralizing. Most of us would say "thank you". So your options areA) Get news immediately, in whatever language it happens to be in, orB ) Get it 3 days later, when I have time to get on desktop and type up a summary, which entirely defeats the point of news I'd venture to say most prefer A, as most can click on the Translate button (literally one click on a Chrome pop-up) and get it in whatever language they prefer. So yes, I will continue to post news as I find it, with its original source, because I know most are grateful. If this offends you, scroll on by. scielle Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:25 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:25 PM I'd love it if we got a song from EUS as our one French song. I love PQTME but she always does that one. I understand why but I'm ready for a change. Newer fans that only really know the newer stuff won't know the significance of that song yet so I don't think they'd miss it. There truly is no reason for PQTME to be the French song in all English shows. Given how completely neglected her French career is in non-francophone markets, most of the English-show audience wouldn't notice or care. I wish she'd do "Tous les blues" - even if people don't get the lyrics, it shows stylistic versatility, and she sings the hell out of it. EUS, too, is a wonderful, meaningful song, and one that's actually available in the US with strong streaming stats. Personally, I wish she'd bring back "A la plus haute branche" - one of her best songs ever, and a truly magical highlight of the 2016 tour. 6 Quote

Agreed about “Tous les blues...” I also think she could easily get away with including “A cause” in an uptempo medley in the Anglo markets. 3 Quote

Also, "On ne change pas" - that one had a definite revival in Anglo markets with the success of Xavier Dolan's "Mommy". (And, incidentally, Adele watching that movie was what ultimately led to her working with Xavier on "Hello".) 3 Quote

AdrienneM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:39 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:39 PM Honestly considering how little Anglo audiences seem to care about her French discography, she could sing La Memoire D’Abraham and none of them would bat an eyelid, cause they have no idea lol Quote

scielle Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:57 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 04:57 PM Know what I miss? A band intro. With improv. Like she use to do with "Le ballet" back in the '90s.That one admittedly went on too long, but it was such a great vehicle to show off her vocal versatility. Quote
Nmj Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:19 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:19 PM I wonder what’s planned today and the next two days inside Celine World??!! This has to be a crazy stressful time, doing final touches; I wish we’d get some behind the scenes footage! I can only imagine, the next days are nonstop full of tweaking the final setlist changes, wardrobe fittings, timed dress rehearsals! Stressful but exciting time I would imagine inside the camp. 2 Quote

Agreed, if there is a documentary or a BTS for this tour (which i think there will be), if we see the pre-tour prep i bet we’d see alot of giggling, jumping up and down and excited faces, but also manic Celine and then the premiere night she’s probably gonna be right in between “Teen girl excitement” and a nervous breakdown 1 Quote

scielle Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:38 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:38 PM For all the complaining I've read here about how she supposedly doesn't care about music anymore, all the evidence from these recent interview with Scott, Yves and Elise points to the truth being quite the opposite. I don't think she'll even stop loving performing. She has often said it's her drug. I don't think she can stay away from the stage for long. (Lucky for us!)I'm sure she's super excited and can't wait to get out there (like an animal waiting to be released from a cage, to use her words!) 5 Quote
smw Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:42 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:42 PM Let’s all prepare ourselves for the setlist to be only songs we’ve all heard a million times before. scielle Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:53 PM Posted September 15, 2019 at 05:53 PM I truthfully don't expect the set list to have that many back-catalogue / rarely performed surprises. While I'd love an English version of something like the 2016 tour, that particular tour was an aberration. At the time, I think she felt she could get away with anything, because there was so much goodwill towards her, that that tour was more for her and Rene than it was for the audience, and that was her primary consideration. Now, I suspect she'd be more cautious, which means more of the songs the casual public expects to hear. 1 Quote

Id say we’re more likely to get the 2017 English set list with HDAMLF replaced with Ashes, TCOML replaced with FOMO, RTD/LIAWN/BOW replaced with a new song or two and instead of Think Twice in the US maybe IYAMT or WDMHBN... apart from that, mainly standards and hits Quote
