"Encore Un Soir" album - Official Topic

I have mixed feelings about that English version. The only English version that has been on a par with its original French one is Je t'aime encore.

 

Also, if this is true we already know what will be one of the songs included in the next new English album

This was reported supposedly by French news agency BFMTV, and that's how Céline Dion Italia got it. I personally have mixed feelings on this. For one, it would be good, because the song is universally amazing to me, because I understand French, so I get the song's deep, personal meaning. But on the other side, it could lose its original vibe, because it's very poetically French, and I feel as if it may not work as well in English. I'm anxious to hear it though. I think it was Céline's idea, because she loves the song, so maybe she wants the English fans who don't know her French music to hear the song in their own way?

The song stands out in its simplicity. His authenticity. Almost family. Doing it now for foreign-language hit as a contradiction. In addition, the frakophone charm is lost. If there must be adaptations, then "neutral" pieces are better: especially: L''Etoile. Has in my opinion even a bit hit potential. Stars in the weeks before Christmas are always a good thing .. Maybe second single. Maybe as Englisch adaption.

It's always strange to get an English version of her French songs, but with such a big hit as EUS, more people will get to know the song even if the English isn't as good as the French version. And it would be a great filler song on the new English album!! Why not!??

I ordered my deluxe edition from Amazon Canada, and I live in the US. It got from Vancouver to the Southeast US, in literally 24 hours

About Encore un Soir: I wouldn't have chosen this song for an English version, and I think my favorite will always be the French 'original' one, but for the non-fans English music buyers, I think it's a great way to let them hear this beautiful song. I hope they come with a good emotional translation. But Ma Faille, or indeed Tu Sauras would be better I think... Let them know Celine CAN actually rock!

I think they probably decided to go for an English adaptation of Encore Un Soir because this upcoming English record seems to be starting to have a concept of its own: how Celine has gotten through such a difficult time these past two years and half. I might be wrong tough, but it also fits the concept of the song Recovering pretty well.

 

So to me, a song as personal as Encore Un Soir is much better for this album than maybe a more uptempo / dance-oriented track as Tu Sauras...

I think that they'll chose Recovering as the album's name, this Encore Un Soir would be like I Don't Know, If That's What It Takes, Je T'aime Encore, etc...but not the main song
