Mailman came today... Can't believe it arrived only within 9 days because delivery was expected for October 3! Chapeau for Amazon US!

 

Now this is something different. Love this packaging much much more than the cheap cardboard sleeve editions everywhere

Ok seriously....this album is REALLY growing on me. The more I listen to it, the more I get to appreciate it. It's wonderful... it's gentle, it's intimate, the melodies are not the strongest but some of them are really really touching, the lyrics are absolutely fantastic and you can hear in Celine's voice how much this album means to her.

Just back from 10 day trip around France. Over 500 posts, wow!!

 

This album has been the ultimate soundtrack. I've fallen in love with a different song at different listens to the album. Initial songs that stood out are Toutes ces choses, Tu Sauras, Yeux au ciel, Ma faille, Ordinaire and À Vous.

 

But amazing how songs can grow immensely on you. I'm talking Je ne vous, Le bonheur en face and L'étoile.

Is it the same "booklet-guide to photoshop" ?

 

Yes, it's the same trip down to the "emotionless sequence of inexpressive Céline-same-face-Dion photos". You could cut her face in most of the pictures and paste it on to another body in the booklet and there wouldn't be any difference

 

It's the only thing I dislike about this album. And I think I've never hated so much a Céline Dion photoshoot like this before. Never has one been so utterly disconnected from the songs included in the project.

I'm hoping those with the negative comments actually speak French, otherwise they're not worth much. The lyrics of Toutes ces choses have made me teary several times and proud to be able to understand the sentiment in its original language. No English language editions please. Simply won't work.

But it's the first time Céline's done it with a french album.

For me, there's no use crying or getting angry over a video that has been filmed and 1 minute of it seen. It just follows suit.

It's all comical to me at this point......

 

The main point is it doesn't stop me form enjoying this great album.

 

Besides, many of yall would have probably torn it to pieces anyway; her hair looks like a wig, her eyes look funny, why doesn't do something in her videos ect, ect, ect.

Yes yes yes a million times yes. I can't stop listening to this album. It's so darn catchy! I don't care that the video hasn't been released... I mean we have the song that's really all that matters. It's amazing, this album is!

I haven't seen such fake and weird photos since the album cover of the Emancipation of Mimi.

When you look at the deluxe booklet at the song plus ou ailleurs is the worst photoshop ever. Yes she looks like a model here but she has been photoshopped to barbie perfection. Mostly airbrushed. Lifeless.

But not all pics have this extreme treatment. I like most of the pics but something more suited to the themes of the songs, less fashion, with a background suitable to the songs would have been nice.

I have to say though that the overall design of the package and booklet is very classy!

The Red Heads posted an interview with Stéphane Rotenberg and if I can hear correctly, Celine will make 12 TV appearances for the promotion of EUS starting with the M6 Music show which aired yesterday.

When you look at the deluxe booklet at the song plus ou ailleurs is the worst photoshop ever. Yes she looks like a model here but she has been photoshopped to barbie perfection. Mostly airbrushed. Lifeless.

Taking Chances photoshoot was also airbrushed to the extreme and there she looked gorgeous. With different poses, faces and expressions on her face. She was just stunning. But here it's just the same smiling face invariably in 90% of the pictures.

 

The fail of Alix Malka pictures it's not that he uses photoshop to death on her, but it's also his complete uninspiring vision of what's a photoshoot for a music album with Celine Dion. He probably thinks he's taking pictures for the cover of a fashion magazine each time he presses the "shoot" button on his camera. So lifeless and devoid of any creativity

Anyone misses more songs on the standard edition of the album? SA had 14 songs (16 songs in the deluxe) and EUS has 12. I wish we knew what leads them to include more or less songs each time, jumping from 12 to 14 and then to 12 again

Yes, yes, yes, you can imagine by now that I'm melting thinking about that re-release if it includes some new additonal songs, 2 or 3 or even more unreleased ones from the sessions

 

But I see that so unlikely coming from Sony that I don't have much hope for that It'll probably be another calendar and at most, the behind the scenes DVD we missed in that Amazon picture...

I prefer the Alix Malka pictures than the pictures from Taking Chances shoot. I think that the pics for the TC album had absolutely nothing to do with the songs at all and were highly staged, she looked like the biggest diva out there and it was just highly exaggerated. I didn't like it. Alix Malka makes her look fresh, modern, normal and very up to date. I really love his shoot for the LMBTL album. These pictures are just pure perfection and she looks better than ever. The current shoot for EUS was not bad either. I think it's just a matter of taste Edited September 8, 2016 at 12:07 PM by ryba
