The vinyl edition is still very classy, I love it

 

I can't stop listening to "L'Étoile" and "À vous" !! Strange thing since I hated "À vous" the first time. But I keep singing it and dancing in the car now

Mine arrived this afternoon as well - delivery date was 2nd Sept but got an email this morning to say they were on there way today. The Taiwan version has been dispatched today as well - the estimated delivery date is Oct 6th for that one!! :-)

It's funny how things changed when I first got the album I wasn't a fan of "Le bonheur en face" but now I can't stop replaying the damn song it's so beautiful.

After 7 hours of listening on repeat.. the winner for song-i-keep-stopping-my-work-to-listen-to is Le Bonheur en Face! Loving the construction of the melody.

 

Me too I'm addicted to the chorus. Wish it could go and evolve forever... I still want more!

Sometimes you listen to an album for the first time and you hope the album will grow on you so much that one day it will be amongst your favourites in the end. That day never came for me with LTAL, D'elles & LMBTL (although I like those albums more now than in the beginning).

 

I was afraid that would be the same with Encore Un Soir. Although I already liked that album clearly more than LTAL, D'elles & LMBTL, I thought this album would be just a mediocre one for me.

 

I was wrong!

 

I liked this album more and more each time I listened to it these past few days, but tonight is when it finally happened, the day when I fell in love with it!

 

I love her voice on this album. It sounds quite as alive and touching as on 1F&4T. I love every song now, even Le Bonheur En Face.

 

The only thing I think from now on after each time I listen to the album is: Encore un soir, encore une heure, encore une larme de bonheur. Quelle faveur, comme une fleur!

In " Le Bonheur en Face" the single line of " Que le bonheur n'est jamais LOIN" especially the "LOIN" kills me!! I think this single line is the most beautiful on the album her voice is SO BEAUTIFUL here,

This album is a grower and not an instant fixation, which is a good thing as we get to discover more and more with every listen. I bought the deluxe edition on iTunes and holding off buying the physical copy until the rumoured November re-release. Or perhaps, I'll get that blue box edition, if and when it will be released here in Germany.

 

So far, kinda odd, Ma Force is the song that has been in my head for the longest time. I'll do a track-by-track analysis when I'm not this tired and have more time as I just finished my exams and semester today.

 

Also, I'm kinda baffled with people hating on ALPHB. I mean, being somewhat unsure about it due to the nature of the song is one thing, but outright hating on it really weird cos this isn't a light-hearted song. We all knew it when we got the text and came to find out the meaning behind it. I was very skeptical on Celine's take on it but my god, I get shivers and chills down my spine (personal reasons behind it) as the studio version is truly amazing and she completely connects to the lyrics although she didn't have anyone in her family/dear ones who have committed suicide.

 

It's nice to see the enthusiasm for a Celine album by the general public and the adoration that she is getting is truly well-deserved.

Haha, if you read my first review closely you would see that I was quite careful to say that it was all subject to change, that it was only after the first listen and I actually already gave it a 7/10, which is quite high and now in hindsight predicted the album would grow on me. I was also saying that it contained some beautiful 'classic Celine songs', so I wasn't all that negative. But indeed, the critical points I made have all faded away, just like the clouds that bring you down. 😄

Eh really, how much does it cost? And where? I went to Saturn today and they didn't even have any edition there but they sure had 'The Essential', ATW and LMBTL for 6 Euros I'll check in Frankfurt tomorrow if it is available.

This song reminds me I believe in you, especially at the end when she sing the main track and do the backvocals at the same time.
