I think inside Top 100 we'll have Encore un soir, Trois heures vingt and Ordinaire.

But I hope inside Top 200 there will be few more

I'm ok with the album as a dance/pop album, but it's not what is expected at this time in her life, meaning her husband passed away just 6 months ago. And how they promoted EUS as if it was an album about her new chapter yes, but a new chapter of dancing up a storm on the dance floor to disco-pop music? the album leaves me confused. There's a few catchy songs on it but the timing is all wrong.

 

 

Do you understand the lyrics? Almost all of them are about Rene and family. And that he is there looking after them, that there is still a lot to do and he will guide her... and Rene wanted them to be happy.

 

 

Only ALPHB, which surprisingly some of you like, is about suicide and doesn't concern Celine herself...

There will always be those fans that hold Céline to a different standard than anyone else. I dont think it's fair to her, its your own expectations, don't pin those on her saying she doesn't care anymore. She sings what she wants to, and quite honestly, the majority of the fans that aren't so stuck up about her French music really can enjoy everything from Falling Into You-esque type songs all the way to the One Heart-esque material. You don't have to love everything she does, but that's your preference, its not up to Céline to meet your standards. Also, she is nasal on one song, but everything else is fantastic, she's sounding as good or better on some songs than ever before. I feel bad for people who only like Deux and SSDA.

Well said. Nasality is barely evident in this album. The only issue one could point out, as far as the vocals are concerned, it is that they used effects in several songs, here and there, changing her tone, making her voice thiner and coming off as younger. There are people who are always unhappy and we have to understand the problem is not in Celine in such cases With some fans the line between love and hate is pretty much of a blur, you know.

Ehm... Vast majority of members here love ALPHB. I see nothing but praisings! Same goes for YT videos/comments.

I don't have time to write down all my impressions of the album right now, so let me just say this -- It's AMAZING!! :w00t:

 

And A Vous! The first time I heard it, I was like "WTH?? Way too much brass I hate brass instruments. Never listening this again." Then I did listen it again, read the lyrics, felt the beat and couldn't stop smiling! After L'Etoile, it's my favorite! It's so crazy! It's totally Celine The brass bits, I can so see her going crazy and dancing on stage And I love it how she sings the last words of the phrases in the chorus, as in J'ai ouvert devant vous les pages de ma vie. Love how staccato it is (is that the right word, trying to remember my piano lessons )

 

Overall, I couldn't ask for more So many gems!

I think that those who complain about this album and praise only ALPHB, SCAR or TCC would love an album a la Miracle, not about kids but about being in depressions, sobbing and being melancholic with songs like Ne Me Quitte Pas, At Seventeen, How Do You Keep The Music Playing, Berceuse, Lettre de George Sand à Alfred de Musset, La Diva, Tant de temps, Les petits pieds de Lea, Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour, Sur le meme bateau, Des milliers des baisers, Tu nages, Nature Boy, A Song For You, etc. The thing is that an album can't be full of slow, sometimes boring, ballads. I enlisted various songs to show you that even though some of them are GREAT, they wouldn't build an interesting album.

 

For once they do something different and it IS good. You would want a suicidal album? I don't think so...

 

This albums reflects perfectly the approach of Celine which everybody have praised since the tour began. So I don't get why you would want sad songs now.

Here’s what I think after I listened to the album for the first time:

 

Plus qu’ailleurs - simple arrangements, allow Celine’s voice to stand out 7/10

L’etoile - catchy, reminds me a bit of Destin 6/10

Ma faille - a song that gets me; it’s not really something we haven’t heard from Celine before and yet it moves me 8/10

Encore un soir – it’s a JJG song, do I need to say more about it? 9/10

Je nous veux – it got me from the first second and didn’t let go until the end 10/10

Les yeux au ciel – another catchy song, I see single material 8/10

Si c’etait a refaire – tender and moving; nice vocal showcase 9/10

Ordinaire – a bit too dramatic for me but I like what she does with her voice on this song; reminds me of her Plamondon songs although I like them much more than this 6/10

Tu sauras – sounds radio friendly, somehow different from her previous songs 7/10

Toutes ces choses – another nice ballad 7/10

Le bonheur en face – one of my favourites on this album, reminds me of Tous les secrets 8/10

A la plus haute branche – sounds old-fashioned to me; her voice is really emotional on this one but somehow it just can’t get me 6/10

A vous – the big surprise on the album; definitely single material 9/10

Ma force – another favourite for me 10/10

Trois heures vingt – I admit I used to underrate this song but now it probably has a new meaning for all of us 6/10

 

I had high expectations about this album and I’m pleased with it. I’d give it 7.5/10.

I was about to ask this... Has Celine or anyone of her team officially stated this is a song dedicated to the fans? Or this is just fans' speculation?

I'm not sure to be honest. It's just my speculation. But since she's done this in the past (Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas..if I remember correctly), then I think we could interpret the song like this.

I got my physical copy of the album today, before it was just the iTunes download.

I love the box and the little notebook. Really really nice.

I will never use the bracelets but I like the little bag they come in.

Overall a very satisfied customer!
