The sales tracking week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.

So, DWTS won't affect this week's album sales

BILLBOARD HOT 100

The tracking-week for sales begins on Monday and ends on Sunday; while the airplay tracking-week runs from Wednesday to Tuesday.

So, DWTS won't affect this week's singles sales either

The Billboard European album chart is NOT ABOUT SALES! It'S about points. So it's possible, that C?ne is number 1 even if Leona or Alicia sold more than her in Europe this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, yeah. That's why the rest of the top10 albums including Leona, Alicias, Eagles... all sold more than the #1 album on the chart. If points is not based on sales, I don't know what else it's based on. Is the album chart based on air play or fans request or maybe buzz on internet? You just made me wanna laugh out loud.

I didn't say anything before, but I don't think it's appropriate for an administrator to ridicule my comment by saying it makes her laugh out loud. Seems like I was right afterall and there was no real fundament to your claims. I hope in the future my comments will be respected and even if one disagrees will treat me like an eaqual person, I think I earned it. Caus just in case you forgot reading my comment: I told you so

One more note on the super-heated discussion about European sales, I got another email from Billboard just a couple of minutes ago:

 

Hi Luis, Thanks for your e-mail and glad you saw the answer to the European charts question. I can't answer your question about sales, per Billboard policy. If you want to write to Keith Caulfield, he can answer questions about sales in his Ask Billboard column. He won't reply personally, but if he runs your letter in his column, he will answer your question. Having said that, I don't know if he will have access to sales outside of the U.S.

 

I just emailed Keith the following:

 

Hi Keith! This is Luis from Costa Rica, an avid reader of your Ask Billboard column. I was wondering if you could help me regarding the sales of my favorite singer Celine Dion in Europe. I know that she debuted at number 1 on the European charts, but I'm not sure whether she beat Leona Lewis or Alicia Keys on overall sales. Can you please tell me who came out on top and, if possible, the overall sales figure for Celine? Thanks a lot!!
