Her Taking Chances comeback was not as big as we expected. Looking forward for her new English album which is no longer from Sony.

I agree, cmon this album was not a flop, when u compare it to others, you can see this...for example

Celines sold 3.2 million and shipped 3.5 million

Madonna Hard candy sold 3.2 million and shipped 3.5 million (and Madonnas was number 1 in 37 countries. Celine was platinum in us madonna gold)

Kanye west sold 3.2 million (and he is the big rapper ect at the mo)

Bon Jovi sold 3.1 million

Britney sold 2 million of blackout (and she had massive hype)

Kelly Clarkson on 2 million

Mariah E=MC2 sold 1.9 million and shipped 2.5 Million (and everyone said it was a hit and goes on about it)

The list goes on, it may have under preformed from expectations but this album was not a flop. Here are some examples of FLOP@

Faith Hill the hit 500,000

Leann Rimes - Family - 500,000

JLo - Brave - 650,000

Alanis Morrisette - 560,000

Backstreet boys - 1 million copies (and in celines big years, they sold more in the us)

But we can say an artist album didn't sell well if you compare it to his/her previous albums and the fact that not a single didn't do well on the charts as well as nobody really got crazy about the songs would explain why the album didn't sell more. If madonna or Mariah only sold that number of copies, i would say their albums also didn't sell well. Just imagine, Leona Lewis, Duffy, beating them with their own albums. AC/DC and Metallica even sold more than them. Josh groban, Michael Buble has sold a lot too.

But since this time, it's more like just download songs rather than buy cds and maybe most people now goes for rnb or rock. hmmmm... we can consider that.

Anyway, I don't want to talk about it too and I'm sorry if i kinda did it first.

I don't see Taking Chances album in music bars here in our place. :(

Does anybody have "official" numbers of how many copies Taking Chances has sold in each market?

Specifically the USA and Europe. Is it 1.1 million or 1,096,000 in the states for example?

And Europe? Wikipedia says it should be certified Platinum for 1 million sales across Europe, but it has yet to be....

I honestly don't know. But I think, the album has reached 3 million already.
