i'm so done with TC, but im extremely happy seeing TAST, ATW & AND DVD doing incredibly well in the charts! way to go celine! :clapping:

Well there was a promotion at the beginning? but what after?

after TC nothing... Alone and Eyes one me were just songs played for a few times...

the promotion doesn't end before or after the launching the album it should be continued especially as the tour goes around the world

 

But if you compare the TC album promotion than any other Celine Dion albums, I could say the TC album has had the most promotions. The World Tour isn't even over yet.

to be honest TC was only promoted with one single (Taking Chances) and only around premiere Celine did some programs that's all:(

My prediction is true. TC album fails to re-entry on Billboard 200 after the US leg tour began. The tour had no effect on the chart.

Celine's TC World TOur is her biggest tour, visiting different places. There was Oprah, and she's a guest again. And she was seen again because of Charice Pempengco. I could even say more people knew about the tour (tv, newspapers, tour itself, etc ) than the album. She guested a lot of shows like the lipsynched "Alone"

 

She released more songs "TC, Alone, EYes ON Me, MY LOve" but just didn't make big.

Sony doesn't care. Their objective was to sell between 3 to 5 million albums. They achieved that and now they are on the next album! It's more profitable for them that way that to try to push an "old" album... :angry2:

thats fantastic really compared to other artists. Considering madonna and mariah had number 1's - it shows who is the bigger album seller at the end of the day.

 

Although the tour is having limited effect on album sales it is giving her masssive exposure. When a new album comes out it will mean so many people have heard her live again.

 

Tours dont usually do much for albums anyway - its singles and airplay that drive album sales. people buy a new album because they ike a new single. I think people just didnt warm to Taking Chances and nothing else got exposure.

 

Celine needs a super ballad/mid tempo to return to form.

I never even knew the song the orchestra was playing........

Map To My Heart would have done better as a single than ML. The softer parts of the song have an addictive melody.

The album has been shipped 3.5 M world wide

 

I think it sold around 3.2 till now

 

BTW Xtina latest CD "back to basics" released in 2006 has been shipped 3.7 M WW according to a new press release :thumbsup2:

but according to www.worldwidealbums.net, Back to Basics sold 4.2M copies, while Taking Chances sold a little over 3.1M.

World Wide Albums it's 100% amateur, managed by an italian guy who knows about charts less than me :P

the same guy that on his website put somewhere celine's albums among the worst albums released during 90's.

 

Now thanks to this press release we can see how some albums are overestimated :flowers:
