Bellamy, as per Fred, he never discusses sales. What I'm going to do is write Geoff Mayfield, who is in charge of the Billboard 200 and other albums charts to see if he can provide that info. I will ask him and Fred if they can forward my email to Paul Pomfret in the London office, to see if we can have a full picture of how many albums Celine indeed sold.

It sold 55.000 in first week. It must sold 34,000 in the second week. This is pretty good.

Yes, Ted that's tremendous taking into account the competition. And as many have discussed here in the forum before, in the end it's not the chart position that counts, but the overall sales. If Celine had entered the chart this week with the amount she sold last week, she would have landed at number 2, as the Westlife album only sold 52,000 copies this week.

I think she will be higher next days, but anyway we need a good second single, but I'm not sure wich song would be the best one to be next single, I think they must relase two differents singles, one for US (maybe Alone or TT) and IOM or SOL for Europe, and then Surprise Suprise

Let me just remind you guys that the sales number isn't present how much the album is good.

I was very dissapointed at first at the albums performance and surprised. But fashions come and go and celine will be massive again in time if shes sticks around that is. The music scene has changed so much since her hey day , plus to be brually honest she hasnt had her heart in the promo for unknown reasons, shes given flaky vocal performances compared to the 90s and lip synched, shes seemed downbeat in interviews and not really been that into it, if she had given amazing live performances it would have helped things a lot, as she is an artist that is very reliant on her vocals for her popularity.

 

Given the right single releases and promo the album may yet be a big seller but even if it doesnt its an amazing album and will give pleasure to her fans and lets face it she dont need the money or the sales she has achievd all she set out to do and has got nothing to prove anymore!

Is that bad? I mean at least she debuted high. Is it normal for albums to drop that quickly after the second week? You figure, everyone that wants the album will buy it when it comes out, by now, everyone who wanted the album already has it, and that's why it's dropped so much. What do you think? You would think that everyone in America should know that she does with as many TV appearances that she has done over the last few weeks...but they don't! The main reason is because TCH hasn't been played on the radio that much and when it has some people do not even realize that it is Celine. I think her new sound is great, but people do not recognize that it is her singing so it is taking much more time before America realizes that she has a new CD. Tomorrow night she will be on Dancing with the Stars and a lot of people watch that show so hopefully that will help the CD sell more. And she starts back performing AND this week, and hopefully they will add TCH to the show which will sell a few CDs after each show.

As long as the album's still on the top 10, we don't really have to worry much. Just remember that even if One Heart and Miracle albums were not promoted well and most people didn't really hear anything about these two previous Celine albums, both albums still reached more than 5 million copies worldwide. And there was not touring too.

 

 

Therefore, Celine will sell more than 10 million copies for sure, no matter how her album will do.

 

 

Another question, if Jordin has released her album already, can anybody tell me when is Sanjaya Malakar gonna release his album?

So far the figures they have are from stores that are based on R&B and country and like last week as the further ones came in Celine added more of of her figures from the last 50% and I think this will happen this week. I definately think it will be over 100k....I say around 125k

its not too bad, consider the current music industry, it has changed dramatically since 1996, the music is different, and i think celine is doing okay, the sales is not that important, it doesnt indicate the quality of the album, and i dont think it is a good ideal for celine to do an R&B album, even if she can pull it off, it might be too much for her fans.
