This Olympics reminded me bitterly, yet again, why I completely stopped following her and engaging with the forum.

Honestly this stuff with her (her team whatever) not being capable to negotiate the rights to put her live performances on the official YouTube channel is mind boggling and always gives me anxiety beyond comprehension.

 

AMAs, Billboards, Bee Gees Tribute, Aretha Franklin funeral and now the Olympics - to name just a few from the top of my head over past years, that we will never have a chance to enjoy officially from youtube, thanks to the incredible incompetency of her team. Random accounts will pop here and there, to collect millions of views, just to be deleted and the circle continues (like My Heart Will go On music video syndrome - how many billions of views would that video have had by now)

 

You know to say "I miss people" is sweet, but when those people actually wanna engage and follow you and enjoy being fans, you can't even give them the basics.

It is tragic and the fact that in her incredibly long career there hasn't been a single person who would say - OK I'm gonna take care of this for your fans sake is unbelievable.

 

It really gives you almost an idea she's just here to make herself happy because she loves to sing obviously, and grabbing fat checks for it.

YouTube is not a relevant business so screw that

I get what you’re saying, but I think Celine is not the one to blame here. I truly believe Celine has no idea of what her fans really want from her. If it was any other artist I would blame them for not being on top of their careers after all those years, but the way her career was built didn’t let her much space to do so. I mean, Rene might have done wonders to her success but he also shielded her from everything. With all those men in the industry telling her that fans only wants to hear the big hits and the big notes, and the success this formula has have it, it wouldn’t surprise me if Celine thinks that that it’s actually true.

 

The heads in the music industry are cash grabs, they won’t do anything that does not equal high profit cause that’s how capitalism works. The artist actually needs to push them to do stuff like update her videos, do anniversary editions, update certifications and things like that. But Celine never learned how to do this.

I think that over the last few years we’ve learned that Céline is a lot more aware of everything than we thought.

I was hoping the posts would lead up to a Friday release of an official Olympic 24 release of Hymne à l'amour. But I'm afraid that's too much to ask...

 

I do wonder if all the posts the past couple of days looking back at the Olympics are a way of gearing up to what's coming up next or if it's just a way of filling in the lull that we seem to be back in

Celine can really make the person cry. This is what I really liked about her. Her singing touches the listeners. No wonder ballad songs are being brought to her to sing. Among the trinity, she’s the only one that can make people cry because the other 2 legends are more of cheering crowds like they’re just waiting for the money notes. Celine is both cheering and crying

Among the trinity, she’s the only one that can make people cry because the other 2 legends are more of cheering crowds like they’re just waiting for the money notes. Celine is both cheering and crying

 

You can’t say that Whitney didn’t move people. Same with Mariah. They all have enormous fan bases. Some with crossover fans of all three. They’ve all had their moments.

Ooh gurl. May I (earnestly and without any malice) recommend professional psychiatric help? Most of us here adore and are emotionally invested in Celine, but to suffer severe anxiety due to the perceived mismanagement of a near-billionaire pop singer is objectively a red flag that hints at at a parasocial relationship. Therapy and medication may help!

So let's narrow this down to the actual gripe you have. It's clearly not access to those performances themselves. After all, even if they occasionally disappear after being uploaded by fan accounts, and amassing millions of views, they are almost always quickly replaced. And any fan with a grandmother's internet search capabilities would be able to find a high quality version online somewhere. So really, your hysteria is mainly about view counts. It's about perceived clout. And these views are truly meaningless in real life unless you're a YouTube influencer gunning for an online award, or when used in a dick-measuring contest with the fandoms of other divas. Again, I must point you to the psychiatric help suggested in my first point.

I think the entitlement dripping from this comment is especially egregious in the wake of the heart-wrenching documentary. You're flat out insinuating that she's greedy and selfish, which is cruel. Your fan-worship of her is clearly conditional on Celine the product, rather than the person. And so you take perceived failures at managing her career as a personal slight because you find personal validation from her achievements.

 

As a pop singer, her only responsibility to fans is to provide a product that they buy, whether that's in the form of a single, album, merch or concert. Everything besides that is a bonus. It is clear that when she says she misses the fans, she's referring to performing live and interacting with them in person. It is not reasonable to expect from such a statement that her team has promised to maximize her virtual/social media clout or upload every prominent live performance onto her official channel so it doesn't get deleted and lose its view count.

 

The truth is a lot of y'all wouldn't be happy unless she was doing the Charli XCX apple dance on TikTok right now, or licking Mariah's anus, or begging Adele for a duet. It's all so thirsty.

Sure, but in my view. If Mariah and Whitney sings. It’s like they’re waiting for the money note while Celine. I see crying and cheering.

 

Yeah they all had their moments. I live the trinity. They can sing. Don’t get me wrong I love whitney. When she sings it really captures you. Feeling amazed and about to cheer. Same as Mariah. When she sings - in my view since I saw her live people were cheering yes but they only get wild when it’s whistle time. I haven’t seen any crying or what or maybe because of the setlist where almost all are upbeats

That’s the most pedantic and unpleasant post I read in ages. How dare you lecturing other fans on how they should engage in this parasocial (and therefore in itself very problematic) relationship we all have with Celine? (If that in itself is a relation we have with the person an sich at all..)

oh no what happened? Why there's fight in this topic? I don't think a comeback is great after all? It just leads to chaos.

 

Anyways, beside the forum fans. People are happy for her return. Some cried. Some became a fan. Some were inspired. And I'm happy that people still supports and respects her. Even though some are trying hard to bring her down especially now being vulnerable with what's happening with her but still chose to be a positive person and a fighter.

1) He literally said he was experiencing extreme anxiety over Celine's team not uploading certain performances. That's a sign of mental illness, dear :flowers:

 

2) My post is "unpleasant"? As opposed to his insinuation that her claim of missing fans in the documentary is disingenuous? And that Youtube doesn't matter to her because it doesn't provide enough of a $$$ incentive? Go cry about it.

Celine herself has cried while watching Whitney perform. Whitney always had the power to connect to people through her voice because of her own spirituality. She put her spirit and her faith into her music and it was often like a religious experience to watch her interpret a song. Mariah was more moving in the 90’s. When she would sing songs like “Hero” or “Butterfly” or “Can’t Take That Away From Me” it was super emotional. Now, I don’t think she focuses so much on the music, rather than whatever persona she’s trying to put forth.

Aww, this bts video melts my heart, it’s just so amazing to see her doing what she does best. There was a time during these past 4 years when I’m sure we all thought we’d never see moments like this again and while we don’t always agree on everything, I’m sure we can all agree that this footage is everything.

 

RC crying, aww what a son he is. He’s an absolute credit to her and Rene of course 😢

 

Also, very encouraging to see she’s still so flexible 😂, I really do have hope for the future after seeing this and cannot wait to see what happens next 🙏🏻

I loved the video. Every time I see RC now I can't help but think of Rene. He is so much like his father in so many ways. Not only physically but his personality as well. He is serious and emmotional just like dad,.But above all he is there for mom just like his father.

And Céline… she’s such a ballerina! She has that grace and elegance (and physique) of a classical dancer. And with her chignon it’s just…*chef’s kiss* 😘

Like, I was listening to Pivot (the Kara Swisher and Prof Scott Galloway podcast) and Céline got a shout-out from Scott, which I totally didn’t expect from him, of all people. It’s just really cool to see all the reaction coming from so many unexpected corners. Even if people don’t understand a word she’s singing, she has such an amazing ability to connect.

Awwww! Seeing RC cry makes me think it’s tears of joy. He’s happy to see her mom doing what she was wants and finally it happened since the diagnosis and the cancellation of tour.

 

That’s genuine reaction and yet some… lol

 

And I agree he’s like his father. Even the emotion. :)

 

Anyways,

 

Waiting for the next project of Celine :)

You know you absolutely might have something there but they probably would need to announce it very soon, as the year is beginning to run away now.

 

And I think the original announcement for RW suggested the show was just going to be called Celine again so this is a real shout. Well thought out 👍🏻
