I doubt Hello did, they’re probably just rehashing others’ stories. That’s their general M.O.

I want to ask….

 

Are people still feeling the same way about boycotting this new soundtrack album? I get it and the frustration but should we not be getting behind this as we always have done for Celine?

 

After seeing parts of the interview, and knowing how much her career means to her, should we be boycotting this release and at a time she is about to make a comeback?

 

I quite fancy the vinyl - albums are a mark of a Celine chapter for me and this documentary and time in her life is a big one.

I ADORE Celine! But yes I will be boycotting this soundtrack still. It’s our only way to send a message to the label and her team. There was m at unreleased songs they could’ve released, even by just playing it at the end credits of the documentary.

I doubt I will add the instrumentals to my library. I will not be adding the full thing to my music library, that’s for sure. Her team could have worked harder to give us more.

I'll definitely be buying and supporting this album. I am hoping to see Celine's streaming numbers rise as well. This month is important since she's putting herself out there for the first time in years -- with the Hoda interview, the documentary, People magazine, and who knows what else could be coming. I would love for this release to be at least a moderate success. The difference between now and the Love Again era is that Celine herself is back in the public eye.

 

I've enjoyed seeing a lot of people commenting on the Hoda interview clips on YouTube and social media. There are lots of people who fall under a general fan category... who were maybe big fans of her in the 90s and haven't followed her closely for years but still love her and her voice. I'm hoping these people buy and stream Celine's music again.

I'm glad Love Again and Ashes will both be on the new album. I also appreciate that French songs are included on the album. Even now, some people/fans don't realize Celine's first language is French. It's exciting, too, that new fans are going to discover Celine with this documentary and soundtrack.

As a collector, I always buy the vinyls, first and foremost, for the huuuge photos and album sleeves/booklets that we don't get from digital or CDs or cassettes. So yes, I am still definitely going to buy this! I didn't come for the songs (coz we can always play them on Spotify), i came for the packaging. ���� Edited June 11, 2024 at 07:02 PM by marc-02

I’ll definitely buy the vinyl if only to encourage them to release more of the classic albums on vinyl! Plus there’s some songs on this vinyl we haven’t had on a vinyl album before.

Interesting. I have IMDbPro and I decided to go to Céline's page and discovered she is now repped by Rogers & Cowan/PMK, a very large public relations firm. In particular, her agents also represent The Rolling Stones, Elton John and Smokey Robinson all the way to Coi Leray, The Jonas Brothers & H.E.R to name a few. Having said that, there's a possibility, her showing up to the Rolling Stones concert was also possibly business related since that might have been the first few times she's gotten to know her PR people.

 

With this, they're obviously anticipating this doc to make some traction and are crafting the narrative to her doc but also, anticipating what's next to come... possibly?

 

Hopefully this also means that Céline will get a bigger PR push with journalists with more creative story pitches, and more exciting opportunities to showcase her talents in better and innovative ways. If anything though, getting stronger representation might mean her name will start resonating even better in the media.
