It appears the doc will be showing at Emagine Theaters starting on June 21st. Seems to early to list what theaters will show at.

I believe there’s one in Michigan… I hear mojo in the morning talking about it a lot lol.

Yes there are several in MI. That is the theater chain I go to.

Well, shoot! None in the NC/SC area nor in the PA/CT/NJ area. Hopefully, something will turn up. Maybe they are waiting for the interview to air before announcing the various theater houses.

May have to take a break from the forum from next Tuesday until the screening as I’m afraid to come across any spoilers from the interview next week.

 

Again… those who attend screenings (especially because many of the dates are anywhere from 5-10 days before the Amazon release)and want to have conversations about the film PLEASE use spoiler tags… if you need directions on how to insert them into your post….. its [ spoiler ] followed by the spoiler or discussion you’d like to have…….followed by [ /spoiler] to close out the tag…. I used spaces to just show how it’s done without actually creating the spoiler. Don’t use spaces when doing the tag… It will look like this when done correctly.

I really didn’t think that it would get such a wide release for special screenings in theaters. Yet no official premiere or red carpet event or festivals. Such a odd approach thus far.

Yeah this is certainly unusual from Amazon. Feels like they’ve got something planned, but so far it’s been an atypical release strategy to say the least.

The one in Toronto at TIFF is going to be the World Premier maybe it will have a red carpet. Still great is going to be in so many theaters worldwide.

Yeah, I’ve been hoping we’d get something more than just a screening on the 17th. But I don’t recall red carpets at TIFF Lightbox outside of the festival?

At this point the Portland one is the official premiere in my book since the actual director will be in attendance. I don’t know though it seems like the approach is very watered down and no special so far. Hopefully that changes by next week and we hear more is coming.

Maybe Celine didn't want to do a red carpet so why it is such low key approach.

I’d like to know how they decide on who gets the exclusive interviews with Celine? I find it strange that they seem to jump ship at times. In the beginning of her career it seemed like GMA was their favorite outlet, then it seemed like it was the TODAY show around 2007ish until recently, then she was back at GMA with the Rene illness, first interview, ashes music videos premiere etc. Now it seems they choose Hoda from nbc instead of Deborah Robert’s of GMA.

 

Ah, but GMA/ Deborah Roberts = ABC, while Today Show/ Hoda = NBC

And only one of those is the Olympic broadcaster in the US, who likes their long and elaborate Olympic buildups (and frankly, needs it, because ratings have plummeted the last few games).

Not saying the upcoming primetime interview may be part of that buildup, but not not saying it wink.gif

 

In short - me right now trying to put together Celine x Olympics clues (only to end up a burned, probably giggle.gif)

At this point why didn’t they just opt for a theatrical release?

 

Appears they are kind of, like Through the Eyes of the World with a limited run in theaters, but this being only a few days maybe a week. Just not the same events or press as TTEOTW got.

Any showings in florida?

 

AMC theaters appear will be showing it. I would look at local theaters to you and what is Coming Soon and may see it advertised.

Nice, though there aren't very many!

The NYC screening is at Alice Tully Hall, which is at Lincoln Center - same arts complex as the Met Opera, Juilliard, David Geffen Hall (where NY Philharmonic plays) and David H. Koch (NY City Ballet), Jazz at Lincoln Center... The premiere arts complex in NY, so a very cool venue for this to screen.
