Off topic but Diane Von Furstenberg of the fashion world has her own documentary on Hulu set for release the same day as Celine’s, June 25. And she’s on GMA currently promoting it, not sure what that means for Celine and Amazons approach, promoting wise.

 

Hopefully next week we'll see more pre-taped interviews get aired, post Hoda Kotb. Hopefully some live stuff as well. I think in terms of general publicity, they complement each other so maybe the PR push by news outlets, socials, etc. for the docs highlights them as a celebration of women, must see TV. or of course, Pride must watch docs as well. I don't know, but yeah, I'm curious to see what they do.

 

I do think Celine has the upper hand in terms of demographics and audience so I think the DvF team has more work to do to get the doc out there than Céline (which could also mean, less Céline PR, if they're overconfident of capturing the legacy, prestige audience by name recognition alone. )

 

TC needs to reimagine their promo strategy. I think part of the problem is that there is no central idea they're executing but rather, just a series of tactical executions that neither go here nor there. There should be a better creative team that can execute a central idea and deliver them into multiple channels. But maybe, they'll do something once everyone reacts to the doc. Streaming metrics matter over time now, not just the first few days.

So far I have not found one site, I just been googling and finding them. Maybe as get closer a Fandango or something like that will have it listed. Or when Prime Premiere finally lists it on their page it will list theaters.

It seems like in North America only the cinemas themselves post info about them, no real advertisement, even TC hasn't posted info about the screenings (no surprise there but...)

 

And Montreal seems to be getting only a screening for the press... weird
