Great news although most of the Vue’s are in central London.

I have contacted Odeon & Cineworld to see if they will be showing it too.

Hi there,

We do not currently have any information regarding this. I would advise keeping an eye out on our website and social channels for any announcements.

Do you think there will be screenings in Belgium or France as she has a huge fanbase there ? 🇫🇷🤔

As far as I know, the screenings are only in the US, Canada and UK. But maybe for the French version in Paris🤷. I wish there would be a screening in Germany😒.

I would love watching this on the big screen!

But I would also love to watch this for the first time in private, with a blanket, box of tissues and some chocolate. :giggle:

Oh great news that it'll be premiered at TIFF.

Well, at the TIFF cinema, not the festival (which is in the fall).

I do not feel like watching this documentary in a public space. I will probably feel like crying so I'd rather watch it in the comfort of my bed.

And some good snacks that don’t cost 50 dollars.

Plus we want the steaming numbers to be massive and show our support. If the premiere was more than about a week, I’d consider it… but I want to wait until the Amazon premiere and be able to be at home and process it. I may even have to rewind a few times.

Also a kind reminder to those who see the film in advanced screening… PLEASE use spoiler tags when talking about it so those of us who want to wait can do so. :)

Finally read the British Vogue interview. SO much better than the Vogue France one, in my opinion. Although still kind of short. It sounds like Celine really was thoughtful about this process and connected with Irene.

The way I interpreted Irene Taylor's comments (about a Celiniac vs. general audience) is that us hardcore fans probably won't be totally satisfied lol...I hope I'm wrong. Namely, I hope they use archival footage we haven't seen at least and not just remastered versions of LTAL sessions, Live in Memphis, etc.

looks like screenings will be available 1 week before the official release

>>> To take advantage of the screenings, all viewers need to do is visit PrimePremiere. Amazon roughly one week before a scheduled premiere. Here, individuals can reserve tickets for themselves as well as one guest.

Yeah, TIFF actually has a "members only" premiere screening on Jun 17th, which I think is the earliest one we're aware of. And their site calls the Toronto screening a "world premiere", for what it's worth.

Hopefully Irene will attend at least one of these preview screenings and do a Q&A (and one that's recorded for the rest of us to watch!)

I read that the symptoms appeared from around 2008 right ? That's exactly when her voice changed. I mean, not in a natural/normal way. But there was a clear shift. I always thought that it was something relative to a disorder, something kind of mechanical. It was not this natural aging or lack of work/hygiene sound that we were hearing from all the other Divas. The way she started to place her voice, those particular and weird sound she was doing, her tone.... It always intrigued me a lot as being something more relative to a disease/disorder, something she was dealing with and was trying to compensate, rather than a normal aging process. Also with the fact that she could sound like in her prime and even better the night after and for month. Now that we know more about the disease, spasm struggle and all...I can be totally wrong but it makes sense. This is so sad.

Then, I wonder how René dealt with that. She said she lied to herself, fans, her child about the disease for too long. What about René ?

She always said that she asked one thing to him, to place her in an environment where she could sing all her life. To take care of that. The time she begun to feel the symptoms is the time where she performed the most, was he totally aware? Was it her/their choice or him? did they try at this time to reach to specialist ? Did René forced her to find out at some point?
