I’m wondering if the fragility of her voice during some of the CWT concerts was due to the SPS, starting to show in her vocal cords. Because it was inconsistent, some nights she sounded pristine other nights she was at her worst of her career… and it was no rhyme or reason. It would’ve been different if she was consistently weaker in her vocal but she wasn’t.

The odd part is like you mentioned some days weren’t amazing but other days were arguably better than 2018. I’m more or less referring to 2020. For example, the D5s in RDMH and I’m Alive were often better than 2017-18, but the very worst of them were worse than 2017 or 2018. March 2020, right around the time she canceled shows because of a rumored cold was when she became less consistent. Then just after she canceled a couple shows the pandemic happened. At least that’s what I seem to remember. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Yes, Sept ‘21 was when the doc was announced (with Irene already attached, so the most recent Vogue article saying Celine was meeting with potential directors is early ‘22 was clearly incorrect). My point is we don’t know whether they already started pre-production prior to the announcement or only after. My hunch is after, based on what we’ve seen elsewhere online (like Julies’s profile, or Vermilion looking to hire a French-speaking / Québécois producer on LinkedIn in early ‘22).

Yeah I agree think that is when started preproduction. I wonder how long once that starts before actual shooting happens. Also if Celine did announce her diagnose to the world not long after she found out then I would feel they were already filming her during this time.

Does anyone expect anything else to happen promo wise before the release date? We have the interview on the 11th and doc release on the 25th. Wondering if the next few weeks have any other surprises in store.

Yes I thought the same… sounds like the same voice of Dave when he was telling us in the A new day… dvd that the fans didn’t like Celine’s Ellen cut because she’s our only “stability in our lives”, there must be a lot of unstable people right now Dave, what an #ss lol.

People hated it and what he said wasn’t untrue… people were used to Celine with long hair after she became a worldwide mega star. I would agree that Celine was so loved back then that the short hair shocked everyone and wasn’t that flattering.

 

I was maybe 11/12 at the time and was shocked by the few A New Day promos online and thought she had aged by 20 years.

 

Let’s not act that back then we were all younger and didn’t let this affect us just a little.

I think she looked terrible with the short blonde hair … It definitely aged her 20 years or more, and I thought she didn’t look good in it… But I didn’t lose sleep over it because at the end of the day, her hair is not on my mind. I think where Dave went wrong was that he said the reason people hated it was because she’s the only thing consistent in our lives, that’s an idiotic thing to say. People hated it because she didn’t look good in it point-blank.

That video was from one of the summer tour rehearsals in the Colosseum, I think 2016.

Yeah my guess is that AND... was renewed for longer than they'd imagined. And releasing a live show on a DVD, while it's still planned to play for years to come, ain't exactly a smart business move!

 

it would have been great though, if the 2004 show was part of a special AND... collector's edition!
