We've learnt so much from those 2 interviews already. So many gaps filled. So much of the timeline now clear, etc. BUT I don't understand one thing...

The symptoms started early, TCWT, ok. She struggled over the years without knowing, ok. The covid came and it was finally the moment to finally focus on that, ok. BUT then they announced the Vegas residency during/at the end of the pandemic.... so was the diagnosis known before announcing Vegas and they wanted to go along with it either way or the diagnosis only came after, her condition worsened and she started the right treatment? If so, that would mean that during covid it didn't really change but after the pandemic when she was "normally" supposed to come back. Kind of lost in this timeframe still

Feel while being weaned off the valium and stopping the dancing which started at beginning of Covid she maybe thought would be able to do Vegas and then the SPS really progressed and was forced to cancel Vegas and part of tour then whole tour.

Yes in Aug 22. Forget where exactly said that but one of the articles think.

You know, I’ve been thinking about this on my walks to work the last few days. If the symptoms started during the TCWT and kept getting worse, why enter into another Vegas residency in 2021. Prior to that, based on what we heard in the interviews she was already cancelling show due to the mystery illness. Makes one wonder why if it was getting worse would you sign another Vegas residency.

The reality is she was probably offered silly money to do another residency.

And she was probably thinking that she could keep managing it like she had for so long. Maybe whatever meds she was on was helping at the time. We will never truly know unless an interviewer asks her this

Huge amount of money is a given. However, she could have said no to that if she felt her condition was very serious. I think this is why she said yes. Because she was underplaying the problem. I do not think she had fully accepted what was going on and still felt the need to come off as a superwoman. As a hero, like she said.

I doubt it just struck out of no where like the interviews make it seem. The symptoms probably started even earlier than TCWT but it wasn't debilitating yet so she was able to ignore it.

More from Adrienne, this time on CBC Radio's The Current this morning (https://www.cbc.ca/l...-63-the-current).

"People talk about authenticity. You hear people say "oh, I'll let you see it all, warts and all". Well, she did. People will see Celine Dion in a way that they haven't imagined. And if you didn't understand SPS before, man do you get a sense of it now. I think she's doing a real service to people. Certainly her doctor is very thankful for the education that is about to come out. This is brutal."

Wow, looks like they are showing the documentary starting on Friday one week from today and through Sunday three showtimes each day. I didn’t think they’d show here, but I still think I’m going to sit this one out and wait for the time release date. :hmm:

It’s nice for fans for a chance to see it on the big screen; however won’t this only hurt their streaming numbers?

Wonder that myself guess they think if have Prime might just watch again since free to you. Or this allows those without Prime a chance.

My local Emagine Theater has it twice on Fri, Sat, Sun only. So not like normal movies that play 4 or 5 times a day.

Yes but I think only bigger fans will see this in theaters. Most people have prime nowadays.

I just want the streaming numbers to be huge.., like it see at#1 on prime the first week.

I've no idea if they plan to submit the doc for awards season, but a theatrical run prior to streaming is often required for eligibility. With Irene already being Oscar-nominated and potential buzz around how "shocking" and "revealing" the film is, I'd imagine they'll at least submit it for consideration.

No, it's an Amazon exclusive, only for its streaming service. This documentary won't be released in physical format.

If you get Amazon or have it already, it’ll be on their platform permanently since they own the rights to it.

Could be, but I think it's sufficient to release it in a single theatre, and this is quite wide. On the other hand, I think it needs to run for a min of 7 days to be eligible (and this is running for 3 - unless they plan to keep it for 7 in a single theatre to hit the eligibility!)

But I don't imagine many people wanting to see this in a theatre. Box office is already so dead as is at the moment, even with supposed "sure-fire" franchises and recognized IP, which have been tanking this season. So that does indeed suggest Amazon has an ulterior motive beyond generating some box office revenues.
