scielle Posted June 15, 2024 at 09:07 PM Posted June 15, 2024 at 09:07 PM I'd be so nervous if I were Adele and Celine Dion was watching me sing in HER colosseum. But I do hope it happens! Probably like Celine when she had MJ in the audience. Let's hope she shows up. I'm sure she'd love to see it and it would certainly make for great promo. Wonder if she'd feel wistful about it too though. Lots of memories for her in that place. 1 Quote
scielle Posted June 15, 2024 at 09:14 PM Posted June 15, 2024 at 09:14 PM Just noticed a caption in the BBC story says the doc started production in 2021. I wonder if they're just referring to when it was announced, and to what extent they made progress on what this doc was originally supposed to be before circumstances forced a pivot to what it became. Irene must have so much material that ended up on the cutting room floor. And there's so much in the Celine archives. We know Rene kept everything. Every show is recorded, every costume kept, every letter & invite, every media appearance... 40+ years of it. That's a lot. Imagine the treasure trove. 4 Quote

Céline RO Posted June 15, 2024 at 11:43 PM Posted June 15, 2024 at 11:43 PM Haven't seen all of it yet, but it feels like this home in Vegas is a lot smaller than that Florida mansion and that castle! This feels way more cozy than the big mansions. And I love how her interior is a mix of the modern Florida home, and the Louis XVI style furniture. Also feels a bit like she sold her 2 homes and got stuck with a lot of furniture that needed to fit in a smaller space so let's throw it all together! Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-F721B met Tapatalk I believe this is the same house she’s been living in since 2002, just heavily remodeled over the years. Quote The best is yet to come...

Yes 102 minutes isn’t that long, hopefully the archive footage is at a minimum so we can really see how this SPS battle presented itself. Quote

jpatdeleon09 Posted June 16, 2024 at 02:38 AM Posted June 16, 2024 at 02:38 AM Isn’t the colosseum run by Live Nation now and Celine is AEG Live? So….. no bad blood from the colosseum Quote

This is the same house as was shown in Oprah a few years after she had RC/had blond hair? I thought they moved somewhere near after René passed away, my memory is mixing up details. I can't recall where I read the tidbit that she has a section in her house that's basically a functioning mini-clinic/lab, with a mini medical army; this was for René back then AND for HER back then as well to now. It'd be interesting to see that in the docu. I'm surprised she's doing her physical therapy in what seems to be a section of a living area and not a designated "gym" area since I vaguely recall her property being expansive enough to have one... unless the kinda cluttered areas indicate renovations were still on-going when Irene was filming. So….. no bad blood from the colosseum I don’t think she has “bad blood” but she could be opting to stay away because of the emotional attachment she feels there; they called it “The House Rene built” at one time. Now that she can’t perform there anymore, it could be hard for her. I wonder how she liked the actual theater at RW when she saw Katy Perry there… 1 Quote

She bought a new home in Vegas in Summerlin, but ended up selling it BEFORE moving in for a recording breaking (30 million USD) and stayed in the original house. Yes, this house from the doc is the same property as her home we saw on Oprah, but I think it’s redone so massively it’s basically a new home on the same property in Henderson NV. Since the Colosseum opened in 2003, AEG has served as the venue’s exclusive promoter and booking partner, but Caesars has a new deal with Live Nation that takes effect just as the Colosseum closes for renovations in July.During a podcast interview in May with veteran rock-music journalist Bob Lefsetz, the host asked Meglen why his company had decided not to renew its deal at the Colosseum.“It wasn’t necessarily that we didn’t decide,” Meglen said. “One, there was some miscommunication between our organization being involved in the arena (T-Mobile), and that had something to do with us operating the Colosseum. But at the end of the day, you know, they picked their horse, after all these years. I don’t know why. We’re not happy about it.”AEG and MGM Resorts International are business partners in T-Mobile Arena, but Live Nation also books many touring shows in the facility. The move by Caesars Entertainment to partner with Live Nation exclusively does strengthen that company’s hold on Strip residency headliners. Live Nation and Caesars are also in an exclusive booking partnership at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, and Live Nation is also the partner in most residencies at Park Theater at Park MGM — including Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars." The official fan screenings, the free ones in select cities, paid for by Amazon are tomorrow! Monday June 17. Interviews were one thing but people who attend USE SPOILERS (some of us are waiting until the 25th) but are going to be looking here and want to see if any more news about screenings and or special giveaways or events by Amazon, etc. happen in that week in leading up. It would be so interesting to hear from John now, after Covid, after what happened with Celine. I’ll tell you, I’m sure Caesar’s entertainment is happy they changed routes now. Imagine if Celine had stayed at the Colosseum and was due to start a new residency there when all this happened to her. They’d be the ones waiting on Celine. However, they don’t seem to have a hard time filling the stage in the way RW does. Quote
