It is deeply moving that Celine will engage with her fans again, sign autographs, maybe take some selfies. She always loved that.

 

I do not think I have ever shared the story, but I remember when I saw her in person 7 years ago in Birmingham. Loads of fans had gathered outside her hotel and inside the lobby. I was with the fans inside the lobby. When she came downstairs, the hotel staff were standing at attention in the ground floor corridor where she'd walk by - she was treated as a Queen. At the end of the corridor, it was the fans - when she approached us one woman who had broken her foot spoke to Celine saying ''I came to see you despite my injury'' to which Celine responded in a baby tone something along the lines of ''oh you came to see me despite your problem, how nice of you'' and then they took a selfie together, and many fans followed. Everyone was so happy! I was still in awe, afraid not to say or do anything that would upset her. I was just standing at the back watching her take photos with her fans. At one point, she took notice of me and said ''come'' I am still getting goosebumps thinking about it! Of course, I moved towards her and we took a selfie together! Feels like a dream!

 

The point that I want to reinforce is how generous Celine is. I did not even have to ask for a photo - she knew because she saw me and that was enough for her to act upon, she was THAT intuitive, empathetic, kind! It goes without saying that she then spent much time signing autographs for people who were standing outside. The interaction with her fans means so much for her and I am so, so very happy she gets to experience this again!

What a beautiful experience. I didn’t get to “meet” her per se… But I got to have a selfie with Celine in Las Vegas while she was performing RDMH( ironically I was/ am so tired of that song live in her shows and it made me learn to like it again because of the experience). I was filming the song and she came up to me and said “”during the song… “ come baby” and threw up the peace signs and posed for a selfie… it was during the mosh pit days of the second Vegas residency in 2017 Feb.

It wasn’t announced that it be a red carpet event, However; it was announced as the location of the “world premiere”. So basically, 15 cities are showing the screening tonight, but New York City has the official screening. It’s probably in part due to its proximity To Montreal/Quebec in order to welcome the French speaking media… In addition to also being in New York City.
