Kylie announced her Vegas show.

I miss Celine

I am surprised that she announced a residency in LV, knowing that she is not that famous in the US. In the UK, I know, she is so huge, I was expecting something here from her, but she will go on a tour after LV and I hope to see her in Romania;) (three years ago I was about to see Celine in Romania and it's so sad that she never came back on stage since 2020). Do you think that we will see her again? Reading about SPS (even tho that there are so many symptoms) it is hard to believe that she will sing again in a concert. Just think about all the noise and lightning. But who knows...

The venue Kylie is performing in seats just 1000. The gays will fill that up every night.

Kylie Minogue's 10 dates residency in Las Vegas is already sold out. I think she should have choosen a bigger venue like Resorts World instead of Voltaire since she clearly got a bunch of new fans in the U.S after releasing Padam Padam. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12392287/Tickets-Kylie-Minogues-Las-Vegas-residency-SELL-hours-fans-scrambling-chance-perform-crash-website.html

I don't see Kylie Minogue selling out a 5,000 seats venues for so many nights in Las Vegas.

While this obviously means nothing concerning Celine, I thought we should put on the record that Katy Perry announced in April that she would be ending her residency on November 4th of this year and just this morning Luke Bryan announced he's ending his residency on January 6th of next year. Again, just noting for the record but I do find it interesting that come January of next year, Resorts World will be down to one "permanent" headliner in Carrie Underwood. Will be interesting to see who they get to fill those spaces if Celine isn't yet able or unable to.

P.S. Originally put this in the wrong Vegas topic. OOPS!

I think it’s fairly certain RW will ask Celine if she is able/willing to return at the end of this year, unless she has given them a clear message that she needs X years off. If she says no they will have to widen the net for replacements. It’ll be interesting to see who they get.

I think she’ll try to do something at RW in 2024 even if it’s like 12 shows over the course of 12 months. Literally. Baby steps. If she’s not getting any better at all she won’t perform period.

I think she should try like half a dozen shows scattered over a month. See how it goes. If she can do it - schedule some

More if she struggles it was too much . Whatever happens I don’t think you’ll see a mass amount of shows put on sale like before it’ll be 10 or less.

As much as it costs us to be rational or logical... Celine's illness is rare and incurable. It affects her mobility and the use of her vocal cords.

Who will risk investing millions in an unsecured show that is not systematically cancelled? If that happens, prices will have to be very high, which will also make it less accessible.

I don't want to be negative but I think it's practically impossible to come back with a residential show. 🥺

Just think about the lights and all the people screaming. Those things are triggering for her symptoms to activate. Those things differ from pacient to pacient, some not. If she ever comes back, I will be so happy, but if not, I will be ok with that and trying not to lie to me that in two years she will be healthy. Also, let's not forget that she's 55. Soon she will be in her 60s. Anyway, it is her life, not mine and I wish her all the best doing whatever she likes around her home with her loved ones. She is a very smart and grounded woman and for her "the show must always go on"... somehow it will. Edited by george_matei

Good treatment results for this disease mean "good control of symptoms: spasms, muscular rigidity, hypersensitivity to stimuli and their consequences (pain, respiratory problems, reduced mobility, weakness etc.)" so as to be able to lead an "almost normal" life.

Yet "controlling symptoms" does not mean "curing the disease", and the profession of the singer who performs on stage - all the more so in Céline's own hyper-demanding, ultra-competitive style - is not a "normal life". Subsequently, "coping well with stress" with this disease means "being able to take part in everyday life" (outings, meetings, the great outdoors) without being immediately paralyzed by pain - but the stress of such a performer as she is infinitely exceeds "normal everyday life".

Dare we say it: even if she goes into remission (which is the maximum to be achieved), the chance of her ever performing on stage again is infinitesimal. What's more, it wouldn't be enough to simply reduce the number of shows, but to radically change everything, from repertoire to stage presence.

Yes, there are times when someone publicly affirms the opposite: either through denial (especially close relatives), ignorance (those who haven't learned about the nature of this disease), or diplomacy (this mainly concerns healthcare professionals).

So even if one day she does return to life in the spotlight, it's not going to be simply a return to her past life. What's more, she herself will be transformed by what she's experienced; you don't come back intact from such journeys. Will only her taste for public life remain intact? the opposite is just as likely.

Barring a miracle. I too dream of a miracle, for her and for us. It's good to dream, but let's distinguish dreams from reality.

I am sure Celine will be back. I just know in my heart she will.

I really don’t want her to go to Resorts World though- I just don’t think it’s ‘grand’ enough. I haven’t been there and seen it in person, so I know that skews my opinion, and I know the Colosseum is now run by a different promoter so she is unlikely to ever go back there, but every time I read about Resorts World it seems so ‘meh’.

I totally agree! Although someone in this thread said the sound and the visuals of the RW venue are amazing. That's worth something too.

I really really hope she'll be back on stage at some point. But my guess is that if she can do anything, it would be a new album first. Because that's in a 'protective' environment.

Doesn’t matter what Resorts World is she is contracted to perform there IF she becomes well enough, which remains to be seen. RW saying they are hopeful she’ll be there in 2024 tells us if she pop up anywhere this will be it. And I’ll be first in line !

At this point, it won’t matter where Celine performs… if she becomes well enough to perform again, it will be big news and those tickets will sell fast regardless of the venue.

I find it both concerning and hillarious that, that chipmunk has a Vegas residency.

Seems recently that Vegas residencies are becoming more and more trashy and desperate.

Maybe better that Céline doesn’t return to Vegas and although she wasn’t at her best a Hyde Park, I’m glad I was there to see one of her last UK performances :)

Lol. Shania Twain just Announced her Vegas residency yet again for 2024. At planet Hollywood again where she was before the tour. Its funny resorts world announced Katy Perry and Luke Bryan’s residences are both coming to an end. Katy didn’t sell all that well I heard . Resorts World is saying new line up will be revealed soon -can’t wait to see who. AEG and Resorts World must be shitting blue bricks over losing Celine and her millions of revenue she would brought in . I’d love to be a fly on the wall when that went down ….

Kylie has added another 10 dates.

I've heard that the new ten dates are almost sold out. Who thought Kylie could sell 20 000 tickets in no time in the U.S? It's a big mistake she did not embark on a Tourin the U.S during the Fever era when she was at the peak of her career.

She was burnt out in 2002. The new dates sold out in 30 minutes. Think there will be more dates added.

If Céline is ever able to return to the stage, I'd like to see the opening number be "The Greatest Reward." I feel it would resonate very well with both she and the fans.

Yes, I would like to have the optimism of some fans (opening number for her new show etc.). Sorry, but I don't see her on stage in the near future, if ever...

I mean it would almost certainly have to be lipped. I doubt she could’ve recreated this live at the time, let alone nowadays1 although I totally agree with the sentiment

I think Padam has a lot to do with it.

Her last songs didn't had such impact. And with this song she gained a lot of renewed attention.

It is true. I became a fan of her just because of that song. In the last few weeks I listened to all of her songs. She is amazing. I miss Celine SO much. For me, Celine is still the best, better than all the rest. She was something that simply can't see in today's showbizz world. She was sincerly warm and honest with her and the other. I don't know... she was literally one of the most famous people in history and in the same time she was acting like such a normal person. That's why I am keep telling that she is the best.

Speaking of that, do you remember when the journalists were like ,,you so famous" or ,,I can't imagine how is to be as famous as you are" (James Corden) and she was always like ,,I don't know..." as if she is not known in every corner of the world. This is so funny for me :)

This is interesting, cause, yes, her streaming numbers are somehow lower than Madonna's, but Celine is more respected and popular that most of the singers. I live in Romania, where she is the most played and loved artist ever (MagicFM said that after a long quiz) and she is so famous. Almost incredible for me to measure that level..
