Where aren't there any "babysitters" on this forum anymore? I remember this place used to run a tight ships back in 2007ish when I joined. They would tell you to calm down if you wrote more than one consecutive capital letter in a row… now it's a become a circus.

Definitely see a bit of Céline's inspiration, you could see the lights quite similar to those used in second residency.

I was in Vegas this week and it was great being back but also weird being there and not seeing Céline perform there.

 

Someone else’s poster and trailer on the sign outside Caesars, her store gone but hey things change.

 

Went to Resorts World, looks impressive outside but inside it’s horrible. No atmosphere, very empty and has a cold feel to it with lots of vacant areas of stores/restaurants and not many people in the casino.

 

The theatre area is pretty far at the back of the property with a small store opposite it.

 

The place just seems like a huge downgrade for someone like Céline to perform there. Nothing about that area impressed me at all.

There is no merch at all of hers in the store not even a magnet, the elephant she helped design is gone but the huge poster of her and other resident artists remains at the top of the escalators.

 

Based on this for me personally, I don’t think I’d travel back to Vegas to see her at this particular location.

RW does seem like a downgrade.

But at this point I'd travel to a ramshackle drug den in Uzbekistan if it meant I could see her perform again 😂

The theater itself is state of the art. Katy and Carrie’s shows are some of the most visually beautiful shows as of recent.

I think that end of the strip will get better and better in the coming years.

 

RW is a little lackluster. I was there in late 2021. Kind of felt like a nice shopping mall. Needs a few changes to make it feel more special.

 

With that said, I’m sure the theater is top-notch.

 

Exactly, I’m not really fond of the location on the strip… But as the strip continues to grow and emerge, that part of the strip will become the newer part. Resorts world is ushering in the future of the strip.

Just my take having seen inside it one morning and also seen it on a show night and again it seemed like a resort that people were queuing to see a Vegas tribute act rather than big names… no buzz or excitement or wow factor.

 

If she still performs there fair enough but I’d rather see her elsewhere like Wynn where their new show is struggling trying to compete with CDS but the theatre and hotel are incredible and have the buzz and 5 star feel that fits her.

I have been inside, about 7 months after it opened and I wasn’t impressed either, I’m just saying the location of the hotel is going to be be the future of the Las Vegas strip eventually. It felt abandoned mall vibes to me. However, I must admit I was never a huge fan of Caesar’s Palace either it’s aged badly in the last decade or so. I’m more fond of classy venues like Belliago and the Wynn.

I don’t think she could perform at the Wynn or Belliago because it’s not a AEG produced venue. I think that’s the main reason she parted ways permanently with the Colloseum at CP, because they are now under contract with Live Nation instead of AEG.

 

AEG has the rights the theatre at RW.

Agree if she doesn’t come back soon her reputation for money making may be impacted. Rightfully given her condition. That being said if she does limited engagements she can charge top dollar and still draw big crowds…

AEG is waiting for their Cash Cow, they are probably the ones even more than the fans hoping for the comeback if and when that happens but for a very different reason.

The new Colosseum has nothing to do with the original setup. It's become a basic venue. Far less impressive IMO.

Nope. But comparing those 2. The colosseum at caesar’s palace is much bigger. Have you seen the proscenium arch of resort’s world? It’s so low compared to the colosseum. That only means you can’t use or make the stage wider because of that arch.

I used to be bummed that Celine wouldn’t be at the Colosseum anymore — because she was there for so long and the theatre was built for her.

 

But, if she does return to Vegas, I think she will be fine at RW. The magic will still be there. At the end of the day, it’s about Celine Dion herself… not the venue. And RW has brand new tech.

 

I also think the RW stage will work well for a more intimate evening with Celine. I imagine the show will be more like a Barbra Streisand concert… with Celine on a stool. Elegant, classy, simple. The big energetic, huge visuals type of shows have probably ended with the Courage tour.

 

I just hope she’s able to return to the stage… because I know she wants that too.

I wonder if the new residency never sees light of day, if Celine has the rehearsals filmed, as far we know she took part in some dress rehearsals right? If so it would be nice to see one day but I’m hoping eventually she will get to get back to doing this show! Fingers crossed.
