Well the key point to me is not that but “She is still reportedly not ready to announce return dates or rehearse for her shows in Las Vegas, or on tour.”

 

Also, article notes a May residency would be fitting as it would fall at the same time as the movie launch. Um… not so fitting if it means she can’t participate in the film’s promo tour!

 

Also what I zeroed in on. The fact it’s around 2 and a half months away, she herself says they have to make decisions 2 months ahead of time about going ahead with performing, and she’s *reportedly* not ready to announce or confirm anything tells me all I need to know unfortunately.

If they were smart, they would release the movie and a new music album a few weeks before the residency starts, promote the hell out of it all, and simultaneously promote her new residency, all 3 in one.

 

Unless Celine will have something similiar to Mariah carey team or Shania's on her side, nothing good will come out.

I don’t think Celine will announce anything about the tour going forward, only announcement will be if it’s canceled. However, the Vegas show not having an announcement means it’s likely not happening anytime soon. But it would make sense, that if the tour continues Tom February to

Wait til she’s back and making sure she’s back fully and has no setbacks before announcing a Vegas show, the last thing she and I would think resorts worlds wants is another scheduled show date to follow by a cancellation. Not Celine related but more dates are filling up on the calendar...and it leaves a huge break between Katy Perry's last date on April 15th and Carrie's first date on June 21st.

That article is mostly speculative imo. She's not ready to announce anything for Vegas because there likely aren't any Vegas shows planned until after the tour. Could be Fall 2023 or until early 2024. No planned announcements for the tour is just conjecture imo, for all we know she could've decided to remain silent the rest of December and make her official comeback in January. This journalist has been wrong in the past.

I begin to think she s coming back. I think spasms were a major vocal issue as we could see in Through the eyes of the World when she explained that there were so much tension in her throat that she was enable to do the law notes and that her voice was taking her own direction. She said the only solution was sitting on her eggs ^^

 

But that time I do believe the problem was bigger and that there were maybe a vocal cord surgery so she needed a long rest.

 

The film is coming and has waited for her, resort World has waited to, the tour has waited. Nothing is over so I think the come back is near. she loves being loved, and she is very intelligent, so she knows the less she speaks, bigger will be her return. I think she is making her vocal problem an opportunity to write a new page of her dramatic story telling.

The demand is bubbling up. People want her back so badly. As someone mentioned, there is promotional benefit to her having been in hiding. That's basically how Beyonce is doing it now it seems.

I think Celine should follow Barbra's footsteps at this point in her career. Release an album every so many years, do short tours, take long breaks. Barbra benefited in her older age from the big voiced divas still being very popular in the 90s. At this stage in Celine's life, big voiced divas aren't really popular anymore. So Celine will just have to rely on her already established fan base to support her. But her days being #1 on the charts are over. Unless she records a duet with Taylor Swift or something horrible like that.

Put another way: in terms of albums that are either majority new recordings or live concert releases since 2010. Barbra has 10 albums that fit the bill, Celine has 6.

I don't follow Barbara but from a goggle search I counted 5 new albums with new vocals (1 was live recording from some 1962 shows) since 2010 which is the same for Celine.

 

I don't care much how many new songs. If it's only one I'll still be very happy and it'll count as new material that I wasn't expecting and am grateful for since we've been in a 3 year drought.

It would be a great surprise if they released the left over Courage songs.

Since 2010, Babs had 4 studio albums, 4 albums of live concerts, and 2 albums compiling leftover/unreleased tracks from her earlier career.

 

Yes, Celine has had other priorities at times, but her team still could've compiled an album or two of rarities or leftovers. And we know they were filming and recording her concerts.

I too am grateful for any new crumbs, but that is not a substitute for having a productive and effective team.

Barbara doesn't tour much so it makes sense if she's releasing something new more often. Celine performs a lot AND releases new studio albums consistently, at the same rate as Streisand.

 

I have no complaints in terms of how many albums she puts out. But concert video is another thing, that's something she & her team have really dropped the ball on. But that's just beating a dead horse at this point.

I actually really like this…I really love the idea of opening with Ashes. I would love the intro to be the opening of The Riddler remix and then abrupt stop, backlight, Celine silhouette and then the piano chords begin. The only thing I would change is the gospel medley. I would start it off with LCMM, but ONLY if arranged and actually sung instead of the ad lib mess she’s been doing for the last 20 years…then “New Dawn” and “The Hard Way.”

Just horrible. Thoughts we all have but reading them make all this even more real. The hope I have is that she was diagnosed just recently and now the doctors know how to properly treat her. This illness is very difficult to diagnose apparently, so doctors might have been trying the wrong treatments until now. But if she was already diagnosed SPS from the first Vegas cancellation and nothing has worked then I just don't know.

 

I can't even listen to her music, I get too sad. She had still so much to give artistically, movies, new albums, new tours. I hope at least she will find a way stay positive and keep her mind busy. It might not be music, but there are other ways. I think of Elizabeth Taylor, her health was also very bad her last years but she kept active somehow.

I doubt they diagnosed her since last year. They probably knew it was serious but didn't know what it was.

She said "recently" diagnosed. I don't think anyone would think back 1 year and describe it as "recently". Perhaps a few months ago.

The bad thing about SPS is that it seems like once it's able to be diagnosed it's already pretty advanced. But let's not lose hope. She may not be able to perform again but I have hope she'll be able to do other things for herself (as in having a regular life & continuing her career in some way if she desires) if they can treat her symptoms well. It'll all depend on how she responds to that treatment.

 

I pray she can recover as much as possible to normal.

This is exactly what that happens to me, when I come to listen to her it reminds me of her sad conidition

and listening to her will never be same because of that. No person deserve to suffer like this,

we can only hope her doctors will find ways to relief her pains.
