scielle Posted November 19, 2022 at 05:47 PM Posted November 19, 2022 at 05:47 PM (edited) In your own words, you were "convinced" something was happening. That is not just expressing "a feeling expectation and desire".No, my words were expressing speculation. A theory and conjecture. And speculation does not a rumour make. Does it need to be reported by tabloids or shoddy websites to become a rumour? No. Did it have any confirmed, factual basis? No. No, but it does need to be purported by someone as fact. And I don't believe - to my knowledge, at least - it ever was. Anyway, guess we'll have to agree to disagree. And by the way, I stand by the theory. Several Sony Premium Content projects ended up on Netflix, I believe. And if it's not this upcoming doc, then I think it'll eventually be something else. smw Posted November 19, 2022 at 05:50 PM Posted November 19, 2022 at 05:50 PM I wouldn't normally quote or link to a tabloid, but for what it's worth, The Sun is currently the only one (that I'm aware of) reporting this: "[Adele] credited Celine Dion for inspiring her to perform on stage. She said: ”I'm not going to lie I feel like Celine Dion, that's another reason why I wanted to sing in here, she's my favourite."" https://www.thesun.i...ears-first-gig/ I hope we get to see a clip of Adele saying this on YouTube! From the reviews I've read, Adele did at least 30 minutes of talking during her 2 hour show. She's like Celine in that way... she loves to talk. And she was nervous. Quote

Agreed... it hasn't bothered me with other artists who have performed there since Celine exited. But seeing Adele perform there brings a surreal feeling. Part of me wishes Celine would return to the Colosseum instead of RW. But I also know how important it is to change things up. (I don't really understand the business side of everything.) I just hope Celine's show at RW feels as cozy and warm and elegant and well done as Adele's looks. She really took her time to make sure it felt right. 1 Quote

(There's the O venue, of course, but don't think they have space to construct something else, even if they wanted to?)RW is just so...underwhelming. Perhaps that end of the strip will be revived in years to come, but as of my last visit late last year, it didn't strike me as worthy of Celine. 1 Quote

brendanm999 Posted November 19, 2022 at 07:07 PM Posted November 19, 2022 at 07:07 PM (edited) Fontainbleau is slated to open just north of Resorts World in Q4 2023. Based on the renderings, it seems much more inviting than RW, and it will have a theatre specifically designed for residencies. We don't know who will operate it yet, but if it turns out to be AEG, I wonder if there's a slight chance Celine would do it there. It just happens to open a month-or-two after the tour ends. Fontainbleau is bright and contemporary with a beachy vibe, and a lot of blue and gold. The reputation of the brand is derived from their Miami Beach property which is luxurious and iconic. I'd much rather see Celine deliver this show at FB. That said, having been a part of the design of Resorts World Theatre and being a "partner" with RW, this is probably unrealistic. Nonetheless, having FB open on the North end of the strip will probably improve the appeal of RW. The theatre looks a bit more like a nightclub. I wonder how they plan to modify it for all-seated concerts. Edited November 19, 2022 at 07:12 PM by brendanm999 1 Quote

Yes, glad to see FB is actually happening, given how many false starts and ownership changes it went through for over 15 years. The story behind it is truly something worthy of a book. The drama! Their Miami Beach location seems quite run down (though admittedly I only experienced it from the outside), but I'm curious to see what they do with the LV space. 2 Quote

I think Celine returning to Vegas in 2021 would have been far too soon. Her returning at a later date will give that end of the strip time to spruce up a bit.And when she returns, she will have actually been away for a while and it will feel like a real comeback for her and for audiences. maki_Dion-er Posted November 20, 2022 at 02:58 AM Posted November 20, 2022 at 02:58 AM https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFuFLm2U/ I get a lot of Celine vibes from Adele's new show. Especially of the early years of "Celine" (down to the walking the isles during the show). Reading that she went to CP because of Celine makes me think her show may have a lot of Celine inspiration (the orchestra, rain effect, intimate moment w/ her back-up singers & pianist, audience broadcast on screens during sing along like what Celine did during "Imagine" at BST which Adele was at). The upgrades to the Colosseum look really good. It's a little sad to see someone else be the star of the theater but it was an inevitability. RW may not feel like Celine's theater now but when she finally starts to perform there, imo, her presence & stardom will make it "home" and give it the notoriety that she gave the Colosseum. 1 Quote
ryba Posted November 20, 2022 at 12:35 PM Posted November 20, 2022 at 12:35 PM (edited) Did you notice that Adele is wearing no shoes on stage? That´s hilarious, like she´s walking around her house lol Maybe she got scared after she heared what happened to Celine. https://youtu.be/u9K0E9VcnLg By the way, the Colosseum looks so small here in this video. Adele is so close to the audience! In the videos of Celines show the venue appeared so much bigger! This guy on the left is so annoying with his smartphone. He is doing his own show right before Adele lol Edited November 20, 2022 at 12:54 PM by ryba Quote
ryba Posted November 20, 2022 at 12:49 PM Posted November 20, 2022 at 12:49 PM the visuals are very good! It´s a shame they didn´t use the full potential that this venue offered for the Celine show https://youtu.be/7PvlVxxJ65A 2 Quote
