New Las Vegas residency show!

I have a trip to LA and Disneyland for their big convention on the books next August but the only thing I've booked thus far is the hotel... and I'm glad I haven't booked anything else because if Celine comes back to Vegas, Disneyland's getting dumped.

I got to thinking today, if and when she does return to preforming on stage again, Would she still get the same $$$$ as ADELE is getting or anyone else ,

I also wonder if Pink would have a residency as well,(not sure where ) and I do wonder if Cher would return as well

I agree... the theatre from a patron's perspective isn't screaming ROYALTY like the Colosseum did but AEG has control of the RW theatre. Live Nation has control of the theatres now at Caesars Palace (Colosseum), Planet Hollywood (Bakkt Theater), the Westgate Theater at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, and Park MGM (Dolby Live) as far as the big theatres on the Strip are concerned. As far as AEG goes, they have The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, The Theater at Resorts World, and Encore Theater at the Wynn. Unfortunately, the only one big enough to house Celine and all of us is RW.

 

Now, I will say... we have no idea what she has up her sleeve. I'm going to give her and Resorts World the benefit of the doubt until I see a finished product. I know we were all at home at The Colosseum for almost 12 years so change is going to be difficult. But let's give Celine a chance. Katy, Carrie, and Luke have delivered incredibly diverse and successful shows that could only be done in Vegas, and I think we got a hint of that through the original promo video way back when. Let's see what Celine gives us and then hold court.

The theater’s design I believe is meant to reflect the minimalistic culture of Asian countries. Therefore bringing more focus to the show and the effects from the stage.

The Colosseum indeed felt so fancy. And Caesars is so iconic.

The Colosseum as CP has grew really dated in the final years that Celine was there… I mean she opened that venue over 20 years ago already! I’m ready for a new venue!

I’ve said this before, but yeah resorts world is in a horrible location and the atmosphere unlike any other Vegas casino is cold, quiet, empty and basically a morgue…so unless they are paying her mega bucks… I have no idea why she wants to bring her fans there, there is zero atmosphere.

 

I hope she does a David Blaine… she should do Wynn, but if not, it is what it is… she will simply drive in and out every night, it’s us who have to walk through that place to see her and having been there, I have to be honest, it’s f****** horrible.

 

But if that’s what it takes to see her onstage again so be it, but I just think it’s sooo below her as a venue at the same time.

AEG probably had a deal with RW to put her there to drive in business. That end of the strip is going to build up quickly and be just as populated and filled with things to do as any other part of the strip.

Right next to a huge waste ground, Circus Circus, a Mc Donald’s drive through, a small police station, a convention centre car park, a few cheap shops, the Sahara and the Strat… come on that’s decades away, and that’s me trying to be positive.

Who cares see the show and leave… I’ll be staying at my favorite place… The Belliago! I love that property, but the fun part of Vegas is moving from venue to venue for different activities and attractions… I’ll be honest I was never a fan of Caesar’s Palace and their low ceiling darkly lit casino…. I’ve only gambled there once because they used to have blackjack chips with Celine’s face on them. I still have a chip of each domination from like 15 years ago… with inflation I may need to cash them next trip

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler take over the theatre this Friday and Saturday (which means any announcement may be held for last minute promo for their show) and Carrie doesn't return until the end of the month on the 29th.

I'm having trouble finding the exact quote, but didn't Celine herself say something about how hard it is to plan 6 months out or something? I thought that was the usual go-to? I'd say if we're looking at Spring (April-June 2024) I'd say between now and the end of the year, January at the very latest.

I just re-searched and that makes sense… The resorts world show that got canceled was set to premiere in November, and tickets went on sale in April … That’s six months!

The general population might not be willing to pay mega bucks to see her when the last they saw were all the fake pictures of Celine on a stretcher or wheelchair on the internet! I wouldn't jump too quickly in her going back to live shows with such an unpredictable disease. I mean we still don't know nothing on her true condition.

I saw someone who met her at the hockey game was interviewed and she said ‘Celine has good days and not so good days’. Or words similar. If Celine said those words, I don’t see a new show happening right now.

 

For so long I wanted to see her happy and able to live her life. We now have that, we’ve seen her out and about. I’m going to lay any thoughts of a new show to rest now - I feel like I’m expecting way too much and it’s not fair.

I get she gets good days and bad like most ailments and conditions.

 

But let’s not forget, she has had to cancel various shows sometimes on the same night of the show over the years due to various health issues and she then reschedules them, just like other artists do it’s no biggy. So I don’t see it being a problem, she knew that she had to be at two events last week and she was at both and on the second she was dancing away which was great to see.

 

I wonder if she first plans a big sit down interview with someone to give updates like Oprah?

This is why I would love her to sing the anthem at the F1 next weekend, what a huge worldwide audience and everyone is talking about this F1 race.

 

I just worry that we may struggle to get or afford tickets as demand will be so freaking high… but at the same time, I’d rather see Céline do a proper show in Vegas than see her do a little show on tour.

I don't expect a new residency so soon. I hope she will take it is easy and when she starts up agian (if she does) just takes it slow and do very limited amount of shows. I don't get my hopes up too much, she just made 2 public appearances. Nice to see her feeling good.
