RosieBarron Posted October 9, 2022 at 01:24 PM Posted October 9, 2022 at 01:24 PM (edited) Yes, she "seemed" so happy, but in reality she was burned out in 2019. The lowpoint was at the Fashion Week in Paris, when she was very thin and people realized sth. is wrong with her. And then her mother died in 2020, plus she got ill. I'm glad, that she had the chance to take a break, because of the pandemic and she had the time to reflect her life. Very very true. I wonder if we will find her changed when she does return. Hopefully she has settled, as she never seemed to have done since Rene's death. I imagine this experience with her health will have been tough for her too, not to mention that she will be several years older than when she last performed. May be a less energetic performance but as long as the vocals are good she should nail it. Edited October 9, 2022 at 01:25 PM by RosieBarron Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted October 9, 2022 at 08:15 PM Posted October 9, 2022 at 08:15 PM Yeah, I don’t know if she properly grieved her brother, Rene and her mother whilst she was still in vegas, touring, doing events etc. lockdown has probably given her time to actually grieve and recoup, and let’s be honest- before lockdown, her voice was becoming increasingly tired and strained; I’d say this has done her the world of good vocally. So she may not have sung at all so will be out of shape, but the muscle will have had time to rest. How do you properly grieve? Everyone has their own way of grieving and moving on. Maybe some can't understand her keeping busy and think this is not allowing her to grieve, but perhaps for her that's what makes her feel better. I don't know, I've never been in the situation of losing someone very close but I feel like getting yourself out there after a couple of weeks/months is the best way. And just because she's out working doesn't mean she isn't thinking of and missing the family she lost. Besides, it's been five years her grief will have evolved. The toughest one right now would be her mom. But I do think she needed a break and perhaps the busy schedule & stress caught up to her and that's why she got sick. 3 Quote
homerton Posted October 11, 2022 at 03:55 PM Posted October 11, 2022 at 03:55 PM I agree with the Grief. However I wouldn’t exactly say stressful describes her life. Try living on the poverty line wondering if your child will be fed. That is stress she’s enormous wealth. Sorry for ranting. Just getting fed up. The weeks roll by. No news. Why. What is going on !!! 4 Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted October 11, 2022 at 06:58 PM Posted October 11, 2022 at 06:58 PM (edited) What? 😆 That's an irrelevant, extreme, and wrong take. Everyone can suffer stress, anxiety, and any number of issues. You don't have to be impoverished to suffer stress (and I'm not saying worrying about food isn't the worst a person can suffer from). You don't think with her illness, especially a single mom, she is going to worry and stress about how her illness affects her young children? Or about any of the contracts she has to fulfill? And I know about living on the poverty line personally. I'm not gonna get into my personal life but you can have sympathy for anyone. We don't need to measure and police what a person can feel/suffer based on the size of their bank account. Edited October 11, 2022 at 07:03 PM by maki_Dion-er 4 Quote

I was also thinking, how amazing would it be if they brought back Nothing Broken But My Heart for the tour!?!? This song would have a totally different meaning now for Céline. 7 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
AdrienneM Posted October 12, 2022 at 02:44 PM Posted October 12, 2022 at 02:44 PM (edited) Only thing I’m looking forward to is that (hopefully) the movie trailer will come out this month. It’s usually around 4 months before a movie comes out that the trailer drops, so that’s something I’m holding out for. If that comes, TC actually acknowledge it, and if she attends a premiere or even an event before the tour is scheduled to start, my hopes will be far higher. But again, similar to early this year when we thought the tour would likely be on, it’s 4 months before the start and it’s total dead silence… so I’m not holding out on that end Edited October 12, 2022 at 02:46 PM by AdrienneM Quote

comingback Posted October 12, 2022 at 06:55 PM Posted October 12, 2022 at 06:55 PM I watched the current performance of ABMB from Mariah. It's so sad, that she lost her voice. I love her 90s songs and I was a big fan in the 90s. I really hope that Celine will comeback with a trained voice. Quote

Vocals (or lack thereof) aside, I wish she’d stop doing that dark brown chinstrap of contour along her jaw and chin… we know and can see she’s larger now and will by default have a rounder face and likely a double chin… but applying makeup with a brick to your chin just draws attention to it and looks insane. It's no disrespect to Matiah to say her voice isn't what it used to be. Celine also doesn't have the same voice but her vocal ability is still strong, stronger than Mariah atm. 3 Quote

The performances of the prayer, tous les blues sont écrits pour toi, courage and even if you asked me to or lady marmelade were highlights. In fact on every song she got better again, because her voice was improving again. The only one the difficulties stayed was lying down, sadly it was dropped because of that. I wouldn't mind her to lip the most difficult note which was her struggle for still having the song in the setlist, same for flying on my own... I would agree, but it’s not exactly the best time to be a Celine fan when she hasn’t done anything in 3+ years. We can’t talk s*** about Mariah who gives her fans 100% of her daily when we are fans of an artist who can’t even tell us she’s alive. ( and before trolls, obviously I know she’s alive… it’s sarcasm) I think Mariah has a great birds-eye view of her career and approaches things with a business mind. She’s been behind the steering wheel of her career for much longer than Celine has. That’s the price we pay for Rene being the driving force behind the business side of Celine’s career. On one hand, Rene took Celine’s career & incredible talent to amazing heights and made her an icon. On the other hand, Celine being so uninvolved in the business side of her career has led to this phase we are in today… where Celine doesn’t seem to know how to call all the shots (understandably). I give Celine a lot of credit for doing as well as she has since Rene’s cancer came back - she’s done some big and amazing things keeping the boat afloat over the past several years. But I think his absence has really caught up with her on the business front. As far as their voices are concerned, my opinion is that Celine‘s voice has remained much, much stronger over the years compared to Mariah. And hopefully Celine’s voice will be even stronger when she reemerges. Edited October 19, 2022 at 04:26 PM by smw 8 Quote

But yes that’s what i mean she isn’t such a great talent for pushing her brand in the era post rene. 4 Quote

Sony France and Sony Canada/Quebec have been great to promote her since Rene's death. Encore Un Soir was successful in the French speaking market. The problem is the English speaking market, because Sony US doesn't care for her anymore. And it seems that she forget her English speaking music. She only tours with her Greatest Hits, because of the money and not for her legacy. WTF, We don't have a DVD from the FIY and LTAL Tour, when she was at her peak. The show in Canada on the 15th was rough, but by the time she made it to Louisville, KY she sounded absolutely great. I then went on to see her in Jacksonville, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Raleigh. In each of those she sounded very, very good. The videos you can watch on YouTube absolutely do not do justice to it no matter how "HD" they claim to be. I can't wait to see her again. 4 Quote Celine in Las Vegas, CWT in Atlanta, Louisville, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Raleigh - 55 shows attended Show #56 & #57 - Paris - 9/12/2026 & 5/15/2027
