AdrienneM Posted September 2, 2022 at 12:26 PM Posted September 2, 2022 at 12:26 PM Just realising now that if Eurovision takes place in Birmingham, Glasgow or Manchester, whichever city it is will likely have its concerts cancelled outright in order for Eurovision to take place, as I just can’t see them rescheduling again, even if she is good to go. 1 Quote

Sure UK and Ireland will be over by then. Whatever venue is taken for Eurovision is booked out for 8 weeks up to and including the final show. 3 weeks for stage assembly, 3-4 weeks for rehearsals, and then the week of the final, so whether it’s Birmingham, Glasgow or Manchester, they’re likely to be cancelled in order for Eurovision to go ahead. And I say cancelled because I can’t see her rescheduling *again*. Quote

Dancing_Queen Posted September 18, 2022 at 09:50 PM Posted September 18, 2022 at 09:50 PM Just realized it's been 3 years today since I've last seen Céline in concert (the first show of CWT in Québec City). Really feels like a lifetime ago, so much has happened in those 3 years. I saw her 3 times in 2019 (Vegas, London and QC) and thought I was overdoing it at the time. But now I'm so glad I did. 3 Quote

So it could go either way (fearing for the worst though).. Celine just got a joking mention on BBC News because of this. Apparently Scott Fitzgerald who she beat by 1 point in 1988 was from Glasgow. Anyway they were making the point that she is one of the artists whose show couldn't happen there if it is chosen for Eurovision. It could be reorganised for another venue though, like back in 2017 when the Manchester show moved to Leeds after the bombing. 3 Quote

If it were to be reorganised, it would likely be pushed back until after Eurovision, as there’s no other venue in Glasgow with a similar size- the closest it seems is Edinburgh, which isn’t too convenient either. brendanm999 Posted September 27, 2022 at 06:05 PM Posted September 27, 2022 at 06:05 PM She has a week off between Paris and Antwerp in September. I'd bet the Glasgow shows would be rescheduled for Sep 13-14. They could easily use the Amsterdam/Copenhagen stage for those shows as there is plenty of time to transport it. I was wondering why there was such a large gap between Paris and Antwerp, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was done intentionally for this scenario. Quote

Shaun Posted October 7, 2022 at 04:29 PM Posted October 7, 2022 at 04:29 PM The venue for Eurovision 2023 is announced tonight. If it is Glasgow there’s a strong chance Céline’s shows there in April next year may need to be moved as the organisers have said they need 6-8 weeks to prepare the venue. I really hope her shows are early enough in April 2023 for it to not impact her shows going ahead. Can you imagine yet another postponement? 1 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

comingback Posted October 9, 2022 at 08:18 AM Posted October 9, 2022 at 08:18 AM (edited) I want her back 😓 she seemed so happy and so in charge and just relaxed with how everything was going and the ‘celineaissance’. Yes, she "seemed" so happy, but in reality she was burned out in 2019. The lowpoint was at the Fashion Week in Paris, when she was very thin and people realized sth. is wrong with her. And then her mother died in 2020, plus she got ill. I'm glad, that she had the chance to take a break, because of the pandemic and she had the time to reflect her life. ScotieG Posted October 9, 2022 at 11:30 AM Posted October 9, 2022 at 11:30 AM (edited) Yeah, I don’t know if she properly grieved her brother, Rene and her mother whilst she was still in vegas, touring, doing events etc. lockdown has probably given her time to actually grieve and recoup, and let’s be honest- before lockdown, her voice was becoming increasingly tired and strained; I’d say this has done her the world of good vocally. So she may not have sung at all so will be out of shape, but the muscle will have had time to rest. Edited October 9, 2022 at 11:32 AM by ScotieG 2 Quote
