Omg!! It looks like the European tour has been postponed to 2023!!!

 

It seems the message has now been deleted from facebook... But I'm sure the official announcement from Céline will come later today damnit! I feel sorry Céline is still feeling ill, but i also very sorry for having to wait yet another year till we can finally see her again

 

Btw what was your source for this? It seems credible with the way it's phrased, but it's about the Antwerp dates specifically and doesn't mention the third date?

If they postpone everything, then I'm not sure of she's any better at all tbh. If she was truly on the mend, wouldn't they postpone dates until early July and then aim for a late August return?

Exactly my thoughts. And the fact that they postponed them for an entire year. Part of me hopes it's because they're planning the Vegas premiere this fall and want to do the tour dates in the Summer to escape the Vegas heat, but who knows. Edited April 26, 2022 at 07:42 PM by brendanm999

Rene would not have let this happen. Celine is the boss. Now get a grip and communicate with the fans who have given you the lifestyle you have. Sorry feel very cross about this. It’s a shambles !!!!

The only difference in my opinion with the North American shows is that she'll be doing Vegas (likely starting this year or next) for several years, and probably won't do a proper European tour until that ends. So, it makes more sense to just cancel North America at this point and start the residency.

As early as a week ago, her background singer Dawn was in Quebec rehearsing for television bg vocals on Star Academie. And the final was on April 24. So we can take that scheduling as we may.

It's interesting. Many of us speculated Celine would stop working after we lost Rene but nobody forsaw that she'd burn herself out because she no longer was just the performer that had to go on and perform, she now sees so much more of what's behind the curtain. I wonder what went sour with Aldo---was it that he wasn't Rene? The whole "C'est moi le boss" shtick got old and I fear it's piled much more stress on her.

Ok so in my little circle of Celine groupies there was a rumor that Aldo was taking some off the top for himself and that's why she axed him tout suite! Purely speculation.

If it is true that she will cancel or postpone, I will say it does make me worried that she is receiving so many tributes this year. Maybe the top echelon higher-ups know something that we do not.

 

Montreal Jazz Fest tribute, Star Academie tribute, that huge Sidaction tribute in France, and heck it's a stretch but maybe even the Best Actress win at the Cesar's for Valerie.

 

Let's hope it's just coincidence and/or that they miss Celine like everyone else.

I understand everyone is disappointed and worried but it's funny to me that at any hurdle immediately it's "she should just retire"

 

Relax guys. Celine is going through a bad batch, a bad rut, however you'd like to call it, but she'll get out of it. I think canceling the show at this point would be the best thing to do, unfortunately. The stress of knowing she has these shows to fulfill is no doubt stunting her recovery imo, no one can/should have to recover on a limited schedule. That only guarantees a relapse.

Once well recovered and first Vegas run out of the water she can go to the scheduled countries/cities in new summer dates with a "new" show.

 

And seeing as we've seen her out with her kids, she was allegedly seen at a Wal-Mart, and she felt well enough to record a video for Ukraine I don't believe her illness is severe. It's just that for the job she has to do, how active she has to be on stage, and the stress of traveling every other day she needs to be at her fullest potential.

The ICM case pretty clearly states "Dion terminated Giampaolo from his role as her manager" and "Ultimately, after Giampaolo’s termination, Dion hired Denis Savage and Dave Platel as her co-managers."

So yeah, I think she did handle it herself.

Interesting. If I recall Aldo stated he resigned to “spend family time”, and then the ICM fiasco stated he was fired by Celine. Do we think Celine fired him, or asked for resignation (which is the same) but it would allow him to say he decided to step down as manager. If he actually did get of accused of theft which isn’t what was said, but hypothetically if he did do something like that I’d doubt Celine would have allowed him to even resign.

Who was Paul? Aldo seemed more colourful, creative, willing to shake things up. Dave seems like a paper pusher along for the ride.

 

That said, if she was always going to return to Vegas, there's only so much they have to work with. For better or worse, it does seem that Resorts World was in fact the best place to go in Vegas. So her team got that right. And in the ICM papework, it was revealed that they were meant to be looking into film opportunities as well. Which, in the end, was successful (let's see how her 2023 film turns out).

 

But the basic communication, among other things, is lacking. But I have a hard time believing that is not in part due to Celine and her preferences. Presumably if she were healthy enough, they would communicate. And that is what is concerning. On the other hand, she can do errands and seemed okay enough in her video message. Yet, that is a small snapshot and would not reveal the whole picture.

Some fans have had emails this week saying the Birmingham tickets are being sent out now. If the tour is being postponed that will really anger fans.

 

They’ve waited this long wondering if it will happen, then an email to say tickets being sent out. They will assume it’s going ahead. Boom it’s postponed. Extremely pissed off fans.

 

If the reschedule is happening it should have been announced long ago. Tickets being sent out will have people very excited and relieved, thinking it’s happening.

True. It’s standard practice but the tour should have been rescheduled long before this to avoid this situation. So frustrating.
