Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

The only difference in my opinion with the North American shows is that she'll be doing Vegas (likely starting this year or next) for several years, and probably won't do a proper European tour until that ends. So, it makes more sense to just cancel North America at this point and start the residency.

Yea but for one thing: WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN, OR IF, SHE WILL BE DOING THE VEGAS SHOWS, we have not heard about the Vegas shows @ all since she cancelled the shows all those months ago...

& also: if she is POSTPONING THE EUROPE SHOWS AGAIN (this is what, the 4th time now,) I just really VERY MUCH DOUBT that she will be well enough to perform in Vegas anytime soon (because if she postpones the Europe shows but is "well enough" to do the Vegas shows, it will not make Celine look good @ all, there will be ALOT OF ANGRY FANS if that happens, & honestly I would not blame those fans who have paid hundreds, or even thousands of $$ to travel to see Celine in Europe, & not all plane tickets, hotel costs, etc are refundable! & I know Celine would not do that, & right now it sounds like her health is not doing well @ all these days for her to keep postponing shows!)

So alot of us fans just CAN NOT afford to waste that kind of $$, alot of us are not rich & also have bills to pay, mouths to feed, children to take care of, etc! In fact, I was counting on the Washington Dc show that was cancelled because I CAN NOT AFFORD TO TRAVEL TO VEGAS, EUROPE, TO SEE CONCERTS! Even though I love Celine & her music, taking care of my 2 kids, paying bills & mortgage, putting food on the table, & filling up the gas tank so I can get to work every day, etc (especially since the cost of gas here in the United States is so ridicolously expensive, it now costs over $4 a gallon of regular gas in this country,) is much more important & is a much bigger priority than travelling to see concerts that I can not afford to blow $$ that I do not really have on!

& again I am not trying to make people who can afford to do all that feel guilty, I am very happy for those who can afford to blow $$ & who are not worried about spending $$, but some of you guys on this forum need to show more compassion & understanding for those of us who are not as lucky, for those of us who are not rich & have money coming out of our behinds (& even with both my bf & I having full time incomes, the cost of living & medical bills for a loved one I have in hospice right now, is eating our $$ away so we do not extra $$ to afford concert tickets, pkane tickets, hotel costs, & other numerous travelling costs, especially in a still ongoing pandemic world!)

What if next year the spasms go on and onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn?

Too soon?

Well, pretty much everyone on that team is in their 70s, or thereabouts. They have no clue what to do with social media. There's no succession planning. I understand working with people you know and trust and have been comfortable with for 30+ years, but the industry has moved on. Seems they're all operating like they're stuck in the 80s/90s but completely divorced from the realities of the music business of 2022.

I agree with you, you said everything.

Hire someone young for your social media, I'm sure things will work out.

They hired a company with young people running her socials around the courage album 👀

I noticed a change during the release of the COurage album and during the tour, but now everything is stopped.

It seems that the contracts are only for a certain period, during some shows and the release of an album.

Guess they got hired for just 5 weeks :sofunny:

Seasonal work. Maybe they’ll return this winter for some TAST quizzes and trivia. :sofunny:

And they had the gall to send out a Mother's Day merch email today! Read the room, Team Celine. Nobody wants a Boss hat at the moment; not when this has been handled so poorly.

Wonder what the health issues really are ? Spasms could mean anything. I suspected from the Ukraine video she’s on steroids to help. Quite serious I’d suggest. Hoping not. Hopefully getting stronger day be day. Seems odd she’s always been healthy. Maybe over did it with the ballet x

I hope just hope she has the decency to have shot a video message regardless of the tour outcome and not some lame #ss statement.

The lack of communication so close to this leg of the tour is so unprofessional, cold hearted and a slap in the face to UK/European fans from her and her team and there is no excuse for it, in this day in age.

If she’s learned anytime from Rene, is that damage control will now have to come into play, you can’t keep postponing the same show year after year for an album that’s nearly 3 years old. She/They will have to give fans something to keep them sweet, she can’t just disappear for another year without giving something back to fans.

Fans have shown patience and loyalty through out the pandemic and now through her illness and although we show empathy and understand how important health is, at the same time you can’t take the piss out of fans… what happens if she’s still got these issues next year, postpone till 2024?!? Come on.

Do the right thing, take time for yourself to recover, cancel the tour and spring a surprise tour when you are fit, ready and happy!

100% agree. However, it seems to me that Celine or her two co managers didn’t learn much from Rene or they don’t care to continue with the level of professionalism he put in motion during his long tenure as manager and president of CDA feeling.

It’s really a shame, I’ve never believed more than I do now, that without Rene, Celine would’ve have NEVER gone as far as she did. Clearly she’s beyond talented but he really did run such a smooth machine and made it look effortless, it’s becoming more and more evident how precious he was to her brand with each and every passing day.

I wonder about that. It's hard to know. David Foster said it was clear she was going to be a star anyway (without David's help, that is). It seems to me other singers with far less talent have gone very far and we know very little about the quality of their management--at least I do not.

For me, I think the love of Rene is what pushed and fueled Celine for a very long time. His support and ambition gave her motivation. Rene probably got her more money than other managers would have, I always thought. But mayble this Prinz deal falling out sheds some doubt on that. Also, I remember correctly, even Rene went on the record saying that even he didn't think they would make it huge in America. He knew he could make her famous in Europe and Canada. America, he was not sure.

Exactly.

I suppose the point was they were the perfect team. He executed the business side perfectly and she the performing. They did that whilst caring for each others welfare and supporting each other. That was the key to their success.

Now without one half of that team it just doesn't work. Celine will never have Rene's expertise in the same way that if Celine had died, Rene he could not perform in her place. Equally no manager she could employ will ever be able to replace what she and Rene had.

It must be very hard for her both on a professional and personal level not having Rene around at the moment to talk to and support her. He had such a unique understanding of her. He'd been there since the start and experienced everything with her.

Looking like that's not going to happen.

This is a good point. True. The only other manager/management I can recall off the top off my head is Britney's and that's only because of the mess.

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

I feel pity for Celine, no one would like to be in her shoes at the moment. The sad thing is that her team killing her reputation given this lack of communication with fans, many lost their hard earned money given all the cancellations and don't want this to happen again. Sure huge and big money play a rule here, and she has huge contracts she must to fullfil so they're waiting to see

if she can make it or not, still this is not fair to fans.

It must put so many pressure on her, really sad she has the wrong people to handle this complicated situation.

That video was really hard to watch. I’m surprised she managed to get through it considering her voice was on the verge of breaking the entire time. Wishing her nothing but love, support and wishes for her health to improve. Something about this announcement tells me that it isn’t likely we’ll be hearing anything about Vegas for the foreseeable future. Might be for the best.
