Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

True that!

But with all the cancelations, speculations.

It would give us all a peace of mind for a bit more info than just 'muscle spasms'

I still can't see how they prevent her from going on stage and sing.

I would be happy with her sitting on a chair and sing.

Well, not if they're vocal cord spasms, as was the case during her last world tour.

Anyway, here's a throwback to happier times - a feature about the tour, with Yves Aucoin, from Lighting & Sound magazine, Feb 2020: http://www.lightingandsoundamerica.com/reprint/Celine2020.pdf

It's mostly technical jargon, but reading through it all really highlights how much went into preparing this tour. Such a shame for it to go to waste.

Release the Hyde Park show… nows the time to give back to fans who have been more than loyal and patient!

It’s not a one way street, she/they only have to give it the go ahead and the huge interest they accumulated over the last three years from European tickets sales, will more than cover editing, distribution and marketing!

Do what Rene would have done!

Even beyond the fans, this would be a great way to increase her exposure before (I assume) her big comeback next year, and this has to be the most appropriate show she's done in recent years to get a proper release. I really hope this happens!

If it becomes postponed, then I think at this point the name "Courage World Tour" just leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. It definitely at the very least deserves a rename and a rebrand.

I wonder what Celine is capable of physically and emotionally at the moment. If a tour is too big a feat, there are definitely smaller ways for her to change focus and approach if she wanted to. And for her to express her art and/or connect to fans.

Man, you know it's bad when members of the eternal rose-colored glasses Céline can do no wrong club are getting fed up. I remember back when Vegas was initially canceled and some of us surmised it was more than a health issue that people screamed bloody murder.

^ This.

I know I was Vilified here on this forum…I’m glad they are waking up from their little nap. Meanwhile Team Celine is in a self induced coma.

The official website has been intermittently slow and glitchy today I’ve noticed, could be nothing but maybe they are finally working on some kind of update

She has an official website? I guess I stopped looking at that a decade ago lol

Meanwhile, they could release a DVD Box set with her Concerts Tours + a new one (Hyde Park London or Mini Tours (2016-2018) for the fans... Come on Sony. Edited by comingback

I would even pay for a livestream if she dared to sing some songs she never sung before! A 4k live-streamed concert on my tv if it is not possible for her to travel.

I feel like at this point this is vocal spasms, regardless of the random stuff from Claudette. That would mean she’s fine to exist, to talk, but can’t sing. That must be quite tough for her, but her voice has more “mileage” than any of her contemporaries.

So the talk of “just sit” or “livestream” come across as extremely selfish. Also, yes, Rene was a master at building her career, but he was also her husband. If he were alive, I suspect priority number one would be protecting her - not trying to appease her fans. I think some of you are romanticizing the Rene years. Him still being alive would not have necessarily changed the trajectory. Covid would still have happened, she would still have this issue.. he was not a magician. Also, his mission for her was accomplished long before he died.

No one is saying things would have played out differently with Rene, but if he was here the communication would have been much different. They don’t owe us any kind of an explanation but Rene knew how to keep the fans content. He would release something or he would find a way of getting news out there.

I don’t think a single person on this forum has an issue with Celine or her illness, this reaction is 100% down to the terrible way her team have handled it. If Rene were here the shows would have been postponed a long time ago and people would not have lost money on travel or hotels. That’s the point.

It is more than possible, according to how some of these conditions go, that singing is one of the times where her spasms do NOT affect her.

At this rate it’ll be like watching the FIY Golden Camel’s Hoof Tour in 1999 dans Le Stade de France, instead of Memphis

Well, I don't think lowly customer service clerks at the various venues necessarily know yet, so I wouldn't hang my hopes on emails like that.

Unless she's postponing the spring / summer dates but still trying to make it for the later, fall ones, which I supposed could be the case.

Question for those who've been following - her site says the 3rd Antwerp date went "public on sale April 14th" - was that just a couple weeks ago? So they were just now selling a new show and then (reportedly) postponing it 2 weeks later?

I can’t stand when people post something on the English section of this forum in another language and leave it there.

A simple sentence under it explaining what it’s about would be appreciated… not asking for a full translation or anything but come on!

Sorry, the person answered the email saying the concerts in France are confirmed. This email is from today.

My guess is that the news hasn’t trickled down.

I think the best thing to do atleast to make up for the cancelled shows in Las vegas is to release a dvd from her previous tours.

- Céline Live in Las Vegas (2011 it’s ok if the proshot done in Oprah. For sure, they filmed the whole thing)

- Summer Tour (2016-2017).

I think they did this before back in A New Day 2004, If I remember it correctly, Céline was sick so instead of cancelling the show. They showed the proshot of A New Day in the big screen.

I think someone may have already turned off Team Celine’s life support.

Well, pretty much everyone on that team is in their 70s, or thereabouts. They have no clue what to do with social media. There's no succession planning. I understand working with people you know and trust and have been comfortable with for 30+ years, but the industry has moved on. Seems they're all operating like they're stuck in the 80s/90s but completely divorced from the realities of the music business of 2022.

The German link was just to a ticket purchasing site. It says 'Dion is going on tour across the world, stopping in a good 100 cities. In Cologne, Celine Dion will perform on July 6, 2022 in the Lanxess Arena.'

It went on sale about a year ago if I recall, so they probably mean April 14th 2021.

Ah, ok thanks for confirming. (Otherwise it would suggest he wheels are really coming off the TC bus!)
