Courage World Tour - EU shows CANCELED

Ah, the good old Friday News Dump.

(A well-know press release strategy for bad news to minimize negative effects, since most already checked out for the weekend.)

Less likely to get as many reads on articles, new stories on entertainment tonight etc.

Posted
Guess they have too much money invested in her doing this tour than to just can it. Will be interesting if Vegas comes first. I have the feeling she's going to take the rest of the year off and emmerge next year for the film .

Exactly. Bury it on Fri PM. Ugh. They’re really very quickly eroding a lot of the goodwill built up for Céline over the years.

Sad as it is… Waiting for Friday p.m. for that very reason it’s probably the smartest thing that team Celine has been able to do in recent times. I’ll actually give them credit for that one.

This friday we will have the official communication.

I wonder who told them, how do they know official news will be Friday

I hope the people who want/need refunds can get refunds.

Maybe if we buy enough merch she'll be financially able to cancel the tour :giggle:

I just feel for Celine. This is the third or fourth postponement, and I’m sure she wants to continue on with the tour as soon as possible. She clearly still loves what she does, and I hate for her that she can’t sing and show her passion on that stage. I just hope for her she can get this spasm issue under control here soon.

That being said, I just wonder if Vegas will now be fall of 2023. It just depends on when they reschedule these shows, and if they run later in the year maybe Vegas will get pushed back more. Either that or she plans to relaunch this fall or possibly early 2023? I just feel so bad for her. Only time will tell.

I didn't know love until they loved me back to life because somebody loves somebody!

Just cancel it and we will see you in Vegas love, atleast if you postpone or cancel a Vegas show, we can all still have a good time in a decent, hot destination! ;)

I'm very sad for Celine and I know she must be very upset with this situation, I hope she can clarify us about the situation because we dont know anything right about the issue she's suffering, we've been living a roller coaster this last year and we don't know when it will end. She is under no obligation to speak, but we are concerned about her health.

The goodwill has to have taken a huge blow. Celine was known to be very constant and safe when seeing her live. She wasn’t ever 4 or 5 hours late like Madonna, cancels to see a basketball game like Jason Alden, or just unprofessional. She was reliable… not saying it’s her fault but she’s longer a reliable singer…. No pun intended For the queen of Vegas but to buy her show tickets now has become a gamble, it will undoubtedly affect her ability to sell tickets going forward when and if she does finally return to the stage.

Ah well, it’s beginning to look like it will indeed be cancelled then. Refunds for me on this occasion I think.

I think it’s evident by now… That team Celine uses the function on social media platforms that allows you to schedule a post. It’s clearly obvious because they post around the same times when they announce something. For an every day social media user the odds of being able to post for example at exactly 10:00 AM Eastern time each and every time you post would just not happen. I think it was a glitch in their system and they posted it too soon

Even so, now they must know this news is out there already, sitting on it for a few days just makes the situation worse.

Team Celine is great at making a bad situation worse, or following a trend after the hype is gone, I could keep going.

I think a lot of you would be better served if you started to view Celine as a person and not as a commodity. She’s on the back side of her career now and it is hardly more than a hobby. The glory days are over.

Reading the posts here is like.. some of you realize this, but don’t seem to be able to accept it. I expect she will be back and continue to perform for years to come, but she’s going to do things her way or not at all.

I'm glad she's taking the time to properly heal. Better that than trying to push through when she's not at 100%, over-medicate, and end up like, say, Prince, god forbid.

It's just so sad all around though, for all involved. The pandemic, and now this, have taken 3 years out of her (still) prime performing years, and it's something she loves to do. She'll be 55 when she's back on stage, if all goes well.

So, what do we think she's doing with all her free time? Baking sourdough? Planting tomatoes? Actually learning the guitar? Getting her GED? Netflix marathons?

She may not be well enough to sustain a tour, but maybe, just maybe, she's well enough to record? Probably wishful thinking.

In some way I want all this to turn out as fake and the shows are happening...I was so looking forward to it and waiting another year, it's so hard to imagine

As much as I know it’s none of my business, nor hers to disclose, I’m still disappointed that I know when she does return, she’ll hit it the same way she has with all health related issues in the past 10-ish years “I wasn’t doing too good, then I got better and I’m so happy to be here tonight”… I don’t know. It’s not as much me demanding an explanation as much as it is just my own curiosity Edited by AdrienneM

If Celine is delaying or cancelling shows for health reasons, especially after so many years of being reliable, I really don't think her reputation will take a hit. It seems that now more than ever, society is compassionate towards health, self-care, and celebrities being overstretched to their own detriment. Celine is cancelling for the same reason as before, and she thought there was at least a chance she would be better

Whatever ill will Adele got because of her cancellation seems to have blown over already, at least from what I can see. But you are right, everyone is going to *cough* think twice before driving all night to her next gigs.

Celine can give a damn about us, tour or her career. She can do nothing and she deserves it. That's not an issue. And of course her health is the most important here.

BUT she employs hundreds of people and pays them hundreds of thousands of dollars to MANAGE her career for her. And they do NOTHING and they are being paid from OUR money in the end. And this is the problem.

I don't even know what else to write, I just think we deserve more explanation of what's happening.

This excuse from Covd and its variants doesn't make sense, it's having shows in the United States and Europe.

...and in the rest of the world too. This time the only reason is probably her health which she can nothing about it. And I don't think people are mad at her, but at her team because they are acting unprofessional it seems

I understand that she cancels for health reasons, more because we don't explain what is really happening, what is her health status, what does she have. It must be serious, just like that to have so many cancellations.

I think that if this were true, Celine's team would have posted this info on all her social media accounts and on Celine's official website by now and not leave it a mystery. I really feel like this is fake. Fingers and toes crossed that Celine is still returning as scheduled. I am choosing to not believe any of this until we have legit confirmation.

But then they are very badly required now to post a statement as soon as possible to stop all this mess! Before it was only a "would be cool if the would" thing but now it's a must! Edited by ordinary fan

I agree. Celine's team, or Celine herself needs to speak up and say something. Her fans need something, anything to know that things are either still moving along as scheduled, or whether Celine indeed needs more time to recover. This silence isn't helping anything at this point. Something needs to be said now.
