Is it just me? Or does Celine sound bad here?

I hate to say it, and Celine being off is still better than almost everyone else, but the Courage Tour is the first time since like 2003 where I thought she had an extended period of bad vocal nights

She often sounds better in person than listening to her on a video.

But I agree -- her voice needed a good, long rest... which this pandemic has provided.

don't get me wrong, i would still be dancing and clapping. But she had already had 3 months of vocal rest between the Vegas show and the Courage tour

When you factor in rehearsals and other things she was doing, I don’t think she had much rest. This will be a “heck of break”, that she needs to help her regain her voice… i wouldn’t be surprised if she has more vocally demanding songs in the set list this time… you can see she tried that for CWT… with the The Reason, but it was cut because it was becoming a lot on the voice in addition to other songs.

There was also a video of the full concert on the Céline Access YouTube channel which had TTWII in full but since that channel’s gone, so is the video.

The best is yet to come...

Yes, she does sound bad there. And the CWT was mainly hit or miss, especially in 2019. But for me the first time she had an “extended period or bad vocal nights” was definitely 2016, and it carried on into 2017. That was consistently bad. After that there was a period of consistently good vocals in the second half of 2017 and early 2018 but that ended with the ear surgery. After that it was hit or miss until 2020 when her voice became more consistent again. I do have a good feeling about her voice when she returns later this year.

And she did improve overall compared to May-June 2019 (remember how good she was only one month into her “break” at BST) but she became sick right before the tour began and that ruined everything. You could sense an improvement though.

Her voice will definitely be better when she returns, you can tell just from her speaking voice. It’s soft and beautiful again. And she looks healthier and well rested. The break and supposed training during this period will surely pay off, especially considering she was already on a clear upwards trajectory before the tour was paused in March 2020.

You have a better memory than I. I have trouble remembering all the years, but I don't remember thinking she sounded bad. But of course it's impossible to listen to everything. And the ear surgery made sense as a source of some temporary issues.

I don't know 3 months is a long time. I can't imagine the rehearsals were more demanding than her Vegas show. It could have been stress from her mother's health.

But the thing is she sounded bad with the very simple notes. The opening of TTWII is not difficult, but her voice sounded a bit dragged/slow and off-key, with a stranger nasal tone than we usually hear from our dear Celine. I would expect lack of vocal rest to show in higher belts, not the lower level of singing.

Oh, didn't know/forgot she was sick. And yes she sounded very splendid at BST.

I looked at the seating chart the other night for my upcoming show next year, and got excited again. It’s been so long I forgot where I’m seated! 😄

Hey do you happen to know if the Washington DC show is still happening next year or not? I am just wondering as I have not heard anything about that show & if it was rescheduled or not...

Plus I wondering if tickets are still available for that particular show (as unfortunately, I had to sell my 2 tickets last year because of unfortunate circumstances that happened because of the pandemic...) I REALLY want to go to this concert as it would be my FIRST Celine concert ever (& there is NO WAY I can afford to get to Vegas with 2 kids to feed, a mortgage & bills to pay, so the Washington DC show might be my ONLY CHANCE to see a Celine show, unless she has another tour down the road.) ❤🙏

Have you checked Celine’s official website? They have a list of all her Vegas and tour dates along with links to purchase tickets. You can probably find your information there.

Oh I dont know if it is listed or not now... Over the summer I had checked & it was NOT LISTED (& I do recall that only a handful of new rescheduled dates were listed @ the time, I know Celines official site is known for being ON THE SLOW SIDE lol haha...)

Ok I just checked again... & I do see the show was rescheduled to April of next year... But it looks like there are not many tickets available now... I have to get 2 new tickets (since my previous ones had to be refunded, I had to have money to pay bills & feed my kids & all that since I was not working briefly during the lockdown last year...) I have to wait for my nrxt paycheck then hopefully I can get tickets again, & I hope I will get to since this will probably be my ONLY chance to see Celine since I can NOT afford Vegas anytime soon... Thanks a bunches for your advice, I dont check the official site that much I will admit, especially these days lol... 😊👍

Anyone else planning on going to the Denver show? (if it goes ahead, that is)

With all the Vegas refunds I've been getting, I suddenly felt richer than Croesus and bought myself a ticket :P.

Denver's been on my to-visit list for ages, so why not...

I so desperately want to attend her first show back, it's bound to be special.

Will hold out on booking flight and hotel until we get signs of life of course...

At this point, further cancellations are almost to be expected. But we'll see.

I have never been there, but I heard there is a mountainside natural gravity roller coaster somewhere near there. I guess that's near where Red Rocks is too?

Got front row seats to Denver! Also got my flights and a rental car, but everything is refundable (just reservations for the hotel and rental and I used my refund from Vegas for the flights) so if, god forbid, she cancels, I'll be ok. But I'm excited that this could be her first show back and I'll be there!

Same. I'm sure they've still got boxes full of the old stuff they need to sell. Why spend money to create new merchandise?
